Got my BA (sx66) recently and while I love this thing, the battery life compared to my old 6315 is better than expected, but for how much I am away from a desk I would definately like a little bigger battery.
I've read all the posts in this forum on extended batteries but I don't seem to find anyone doing a review of the battery after they have it. There seems to be quite a few different batteries available so I think a battery roundup would help with a few peoples deicisions, myself included.
First off, current shipping batteries, I've seen mentions to a 1900mah battery, a 2000mah battery, an older mugen 2200(?)mah battery, the current 2400 and 3300 mugen batteries. Are there any more I am missing?
Some pictures of the batteries in the device to get an idea of size increase would be great! If you got them lets see them! I can provide webhosting if needed so email me at [email protected] with the subject involving HTC BA Battery or something similar.
Compatible accessories. Do any of these batteries fit in the cradle? If so do they fit in the extra battery charging spot? What cases do you know they do not fit in properly, and what ones do they fit properly.
Last but not least, where did you buy it and how do you rate the battery. Does it give as much of a life increase as the size increase would indicate?
Lets see it! This is the greatest PDA community around I know we can get a real nice roundup together.
Well this thread seems to be getting rather ignored.. I too would be interested in a battery roundup!
If I get one I will leave comments here!
dear saq,
it's a good idea to have a battery round up. So that the users in this forum can know the quality of the battery on the market.
But I do have a suggestion, I think you need to do a more details testing with all the environment the same...for the battery testing.
In case you have any question about the mugen power battery you can contact me.....
so amazon has this battery from gtmax 2200mah battery idk if its worth it cause i dont want to buy a battery that will last forever since i just need it to last longer than normal. does anyone have or used tis battery?

Reports that I've seen indicate it is thicker than stock and the back cover won't fit. Maybe you'd be OK if you have a good case so you could do without the back plate, but I don't know. I'm also not sure people have seen any real extended life. Check out the other forums also, there's a lot of interest in extended batteries.
I found a replacement battery marketed as extended life but I emailed the company and they said it wasn't an extended life just replacement. http://www.newpower99.com/Samsung_G..._Replacement_Kit_p/samsung galaxy tab 7.7.htm
Since I upgraded to paranoid android I get about 24 hours on a charge so it isn't as important as it was before but still interested if anyone has found or tried anything.
There's a few companies out there including Samsung that make external extended batteries. Not an elegant solution, but considering one of the biggest I've seen is Sammy's 9000mAh (WUT NINE THOUSAND???) it would definitely allow the tablet and your phone to go the distance.
There's another from Anker that's a universal external battery as well that's much smaller in physical dimensions, but still has 5600mAh worth of juice.
Their phrasing is rubbish. Basically it means extend the life of your battery.
It does not mean extended battery.
The former meaning something in the context, "is your battery near the end of it's life cycle? Extend the life of your battery by replacing it with ours"
The later meaning something in the context of "Is the stock battery not enough? Use our extended battery which provides more juice than the stock"
Anyone here can share your experience with a slim extended battery for note 3? I want a better capacity battery comparing to original without adding the bulk to my note 3.
Spare battery charging kit.

You're not going to get a battery that has more mah AND fits under the stock battery door. Some batteries state a higher mah, but have the same or less than the stock battery.
I agree with @rbiter, spare Samsung battery with Samsung battery charger = awesome combo! That's what I have and love it! I also have a 12,000mah power bank with 2 usb ports, so it can charge 2 devices simultaneously. This combination gives me more than enough battery life to last me for days without needing AC or DC power!

I believe that the extended battery should be thicker than the original battery because the capacity is more than the original.
Originally, if the capacity is larger, the chips of the battery should be more.
Therefore, it's impossible that the extended battery is slim.
I have a 6400mah extended battery, but actually I don't like extended battery. thicker. uhhh
Ordered a MPJ 4500mAh slim battery on 03/10 and I am still waiting...

That whole thread is 'snake oil'.
Didn't want to ruin a perfectly good nonsense thread there, but this seems a more appropriate place to mention a few realities.
1) Can't magically make more mAh out of the same sized battery. Especially not that much more. That's pretty much like grabbing two of the exact same logs and declaring that under the same circumstances one burns for an hour and the other a day.
2) People in that thread are claiming it charges faster. No kidding. That's because it has less to charge.
3) You get what you pay for.
I recently purchased the 2500 mAh Samsung Extended Battery kit for the Alpha from "Fonejoy". It only took one week to get, which is impressive being that it came all the way to PA from the UK. I actually didn't "need" the extended battery...reason being that I ran G Service Fix and found that I have 2 wake locks that were causing my poor battery life. I decided to keep it because I wanted the extra weight of the battery (I find the Alpha with the regular battery too light) and one can always you more battery life.
Long story short, I have to say that I'm extremely impressed with the extended battery and I highly recommend it. I was getting much improved battery performance after fixing the wake locks, but the battery performance of the extended battery kit far exceeded my expectations. Here are a list of the benefits (my "likes"):
1. The look and feel of the back battery cover is the same as the original cover that came with my phone. It's the same soft, "leatherette"...no idea what it's actually called. But, it's the same as the original. I like the fact that it just says "Samsung", rather than AT&T like my original cover.
2. I like the added weight of the battery. It adds just enough grams of weight to feel more substantial in your hand. It's a very slight weight difference, but just noticeable.
3. It barely adds bulk to the phone. It's just a few MM thicker. Proof of that is that it fits perfectly in the SPIGEN Neo-Hybrid case I also bought, which is intended to fit with the original battery.
4. Now for the main benefit, the extended battery time. Currently, I'm at 1 day and 9 hours with 2.5 hours of screen-on-time, and it's only down to 49%! That's exceptional performance. I will post an update when it's down to 10% to see how long it lasted. I'm very happy with the performance. And, with this battery, I reverted back to turn ON Bluetooth. Previously, I had turned it off to save battery life, but now I feel like I can actually use features of the phone that I'm intended to use.
Please let me know if you have any questions about it.

I too have this and also bought from the same seller. This extended OEM battery is truly amazing; Samsung should have just shipped the phone with it.

I completely agree. No idea why Samsung couldn't have shipped the phone with this battery, especially at the original price point of the phone.
Update: I'm now at 2 DAYS and 3 hours of SOT, and still have 30% battery left! I couldn't have come close to this before.
Please post some detailed pictures with the new battery fitted on the phone. Just to make a clear ideea of the thickness of the battery. Also, my Galaxy Alpha is sleek silver...have you seen extended battery pack with sleek silver cover? Thank you!

hi Ski_rush,
I think I have the same worries of battery you had before.
What are the two G Fix service that drained the battery? and what was the solution?
Thank you for the answer.

Hi, my battery drain before was cased by 2 "wakelocks". Before all this I had no idea what a "wakelock" was. The 2 that I had were actually caused by Google. Essentially, google play store and google services were stuck in an "on" cycle and just killing my battery really fast. It was like a percent every minute. As it turns out, "wake locks" are not uncommon.
I installed G Service Fix. It's a free app. I think there are several similar apps, but I used this one. All I can say is that the difference was immediate. Before doing the fix, the phone wouldn't even last a full work day. I was pissed. I felt I had to get the bigger battery. However, after the fix, it easily lasted over a 24-hour period. I really didn't need the bigger battery, but I had already ordered it from the UK. And, I knew that it would add a touch more weight to the phone, which I wanted.
Now that I have the bigger battery and the wake locks fixed, my phone lasted 2 days and still had over 30% left. The difference after fixing the wake locks was remarkable.
Just installed g fix, lets see if my sot will get bettrt
Im ok with the original one. Btw good review.
Nice post..now to find one. the Alpha is a lot more frugal than my old nexus by far, but the extra life would be nice

Does this need to root for the app to work?
Can anyone post a measurement of the thickness after installing the new battery? How much thicker does the phone get?
Thanks!
is it ok to use the extended battery without the backcover and just put the spigen case on it?
Interesting question. I haven't tried it but it might work fine. I would think the extended battery is thick enough to fit snuggly up against the Spigen case.
