I found a replacement battery marketed as extended life but I emailed the company and they said it wasn't an extended life just replacement. http://www.newpower99.com/Samsung_G..._Replacement_Kit_p/samsung galaxy tab 7.7.htm
Since I upgraded to paranoid android I get about 24 hours on a charge so it isn't as important as it was before but still interested if anyone has found or tried anything.
There's a few companies out there including Samsung that make external extended batteries. Not an elegant solution, but considering one of the biggest I've seen is Sammy's 9000mAh (WUT NINE THOUSAND???) it would definitely allow the tablet and your phone to go the distance.
There's another from Anker that's a universal external battery as well that's much smaller in physical dimensions, but still has 5600mAh worth of juice.
Their phrasing is rubbish. Basically it means extend the life of your battery.
It does not mean extended battery.
The former meaning something in the context, "is your battery near the end of it's life cycle? Extend the life of your battery by replacing it with ours"
The later meaning something in the context of "Is the stock battery not enough? Use our extended battery which provides more juice than the stock"

Hi All,
I was wondering if it is possible to use a battery for the Hero with higher mAh value so that it lasts longer? The stock battery is just 1350mAh while I have seen a thread in which someone was using a 2400mAh battery on an HTC Dream!! If that is possible on Hero as well, it'd be a biiiig WOWWW!!!
Any comments??
Any comments guys?!?!

Yes it is always possible but you take the risk of voiding your warranty + running higher temperature. I used to have 2x capacity battery in my previous HTC phones and they all end up bloated after some time.
So, it is not safe at all!!?? I would love to have a longer lasting battery though Mine is not too bad looking at how much I use my phone... but needs charging everyday and I don't have WiFi on. I would like something that needs charging at least every other day.
The standard size 1550mAh battery looks good but it doesn't seem much more powerful than the hero's stock battery. How much of a difference would it make? Or it designed more to be a replacement than an upgrade?
It's about 15% higher capacity that the original, so that will equate to at best a 15% longer battery life. If the stock battery barely gets you through the day, I'd say it's an upgrade!
I had a Mugen power battery for my HTC Shift, and it was great. I think I'll invest in the 1550mAh version as it will just give me that little bit more juice, and won't affect the form factor of the phone - the large battery will make it far too bulky IMHO and for the price I can get 2.5 1550mAh versions!

Dave
Don't forget your Mugen Power Coupon Codes, I just saved 5.00% on my purchase.
Current working code: 5OFF2010
Enjoy
If that is no longer valid just google for a new code, that show I got mine

Another huge bump? Come on, this thread is coming up for a year old.
Although NSFAN's ROM has extended my standby time to almost 3 days, I wanted to try and push for more "active" time when using the data a lot.
I know there are two different battery types, one with more cells crammed into the same size battery and another with an extended door. Has anyone tried either of these and what difference does it make?
Id like to know too
Id like to know to what extent these batteries will allow my phone to run. I am running on Vets beta 3 and it sucks life right out of my battery (not complaining because it is an awesome rom) but I have also considered getting an extended battery since I also try running XDAndroid which eats the battery for breakfast...
I have both a Seidio Extra Cell battery (normal size but 1800 mah) and a 3000 mah extended battery with extended door.
Let me start by saying I own about a dozen accessories made by Seidio for the Touch Pro and Touch Pro 2....and they are all great..... BUT I only see a 2-3 hour stand-by difference.
With the 3000 mah extended battery (which you should be able to find for ~$20 or so) adds a little more... about 5-6 hours...... BUT it gets really hot, and the battery % drops like a rock after about 60%.
The combination I suggest is getting the Seidio extra cell battery and use it with a battery saving program/reg. settings. Here is one I install after every new flash. (as far as I know it works with all WM Roms)
Hope this helps.
so... do you think that they are even worth it? I had the extended battery when I had the Apache (ppc6700) but since it was bought used, I thought that the batteries were loosing charge due to the previous use...
I would like to get one but if they do not show significant gains, there is no need for the money waste.
Mainly I've been looking at a couple of options to extend battery life in general.
I've found a couple of aftermarket battery options..
Battery booster, basically charges your battery when you need it to: http://www.amazon.com/T-Mobile-Protective-Cover-Battery-Boost/dp/B0040Z3B98/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1294195978&sr=8-8
An aftermarket battery same size, but slightly better than oem one: http://www.amazon.com/1200mAh-PowerGen-Premium-Quality-Firestone/dp/B003ZUQISU/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1294195978&sr=8-11
And Mugen Power battery 2600mah extended battery: http://www.amazon.com/Mugen-Power-Extended-Battery-2600mAh-HTC/dp/B0049JWHYA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=mobile&qid=1294196068&sr=8-1-catcorr
Opinions?
As for me I would rather find a battery that fits the stock OEM size battery but has better life. Reason, I already have a nice case for my phone (the body glove one), and there aren't any cases I can find for the extended battery back door.
I think the charge when you need it option is kind of cool, since it comes with what appears to be a very nice case.
Also, the OEM battery i linked isn't the best I've found, but, it's a decent brand as far as I'm aware.. as I've heard some others boast bigger claims than they offer.
Anyone know of any true better than oem batteries that fit the stock back casing and phone? If so please share your purchases and/or findings.
And lastly, what is the stock ratings of the HTC HD2 OEM battery on average? Not sure if mine was/is aftermarket, was purchased used.
It's been a while since the phone was released but I cannot find any acceptable extended battery solutions still.
I mean 'cmon, mugen power battery (or alike) with the camel hump? Really?
The batteries that fit standard case and claim to be of a higher capacity are mostly always are fake.
Keeping a spare and changing it in the middle of a day is pretty cumbersome.
The only option that's left is to charge it at least twice a day.
So the question is, has someone came across a decent and non-ugly extended battery yet?
Nope
I've scoured the internet for hours looking for a solution like this. Alls i wanted was a 10-20% bump without the extra bulk.
Sadly, nothing. There were some non legit batteries that somebody had used on android forums that were 1900mAh, but sadly this also wasn't the best fit in the phone and ended up busting his battery cover.
Sadly, the answer to your queestion is no. Sorry!
I've been looking at the extended batteries from powerbear and the like. None of them list which battery cells they use in their batteries. I've also seen a lot of complaints of the batteries dying at the 3 to 6 month mark.
Does anyone know which batteries use high quality battery cells, for example Samsung cells or at least the OEM battery cells?
Does anyone have long term experience with one of these batteries that hasn't degraded significantly or similarly to the OEM battery as far as equivalent capacity loss over time?
I posted this question on Amazon for a number of the extended batteries and only received a response from the
PERFINE who claim to use LG OEM battery cells.
No luck with responses from Powerbear, Zero Lemon and others.

Mike

No idea, i can say ive been using powerbear for 5+months now with no issues. Battery life has not degraded more than 5-15%. Most likely the cells are lower quality, but the larger capacity should allow you to often have a lower depth of discharge and help them to last a bit longer.

Thanks for the input, I'd really be interested to see how the battery holds up after the 6 mons. mark. Also, I'm assuming you're a heavy user.
Another thing I recently read was the way some of these batteries are put together. Some are simply two regular capacity batteries put together. Apparently this is a bad idea because the leveling of the battery usage isn't controlled since they are technically two separate batteries. Anyhow, it's good to hear the powerbear is holding up pretty well.

Third party chinese batteries are always a bit hit and miss. I have always used them like if it doesn't catch fire it is good. Putting two cells in parallel is not as bad as putting them in series so I would not worry about the balancing. They are poor quality batteries anyways so balancing does not give that much advantage in this scenario.
If the battery costs something like 20 bucks then don't worry about it lasting more than six months. It's cheap so just buy a new one if you want the best battery life. But don't get the cheapest if you don't want Note 7 problems. They have really poor quality cells and most likely no protection. Death traps if you ask me. 20 bucks should give you the protection and not the worst cells.
