Skype-mobile - Droid Eris Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I've installed 'kaosfroyo v38' a month ago and I could not skype-mobile for verizon wireless which means I cannot call someone with 3G network.
I found the app but the system could not recognize it is a verizon phone, so I could not install.
Is there anyone how to install the app on rooted and jail-break phone?
Thanks.

have you tried this version?

[Q]Anyway to get mobile hotspot for international users after update?

i just did the update and use shawnbuck exploit to stay rooted. but now i lost mobile hotspot. Im in canada using the phone with Fido, mobile hotspot was working fine before the update but now when i try to turn it on i get a message saying that my account is not set up for wifi hotspot and need to contact ATT to enable this feature. is there anyway i can get this working again?
I'm in the same boat. If you're still rooted, Barncale WiFi Tether should work like a charm. You can download it in the market.
P.S. And its icon is so cute that it's worth installing it just to have it on your desktop
Hey man just wondering how you got the update already? I'm also on fido in vancouver and I thought the update was only for att?

i have a ATT phone and just sent to settings>about phone>update but make sure you check the root thread in the dev section first, theres a few things you need to do with ADB if you want to keep your root.
Thanks little_beat barnacle is much better than Pdanet that i was using.
anyone know if mobile hotspot works for ATT users in the states after the update? and is there a fix?

[Q] 3g data link lost while tethering

Hi everyone. I just got a Milestone 3 (Droid 3) from Alltel (the Alltel that was divested from the Verizon buyout), who is actually Atlantic Telecom Network. They are a great local carrier who has the best coverage in my area.
I rooted the phone, installed various wireless tether apps but whenever I use any of them, I instantly lose my 3G data connection along with a message that says "3G data link lost". Sometimes is comes back right after turning the hotspot off and other times I have to reboot. I am sure this is caused by a carrier setting because they want you to pay $20 more/month to enable tethering. Does anyone know anyway around this issue? It never happened with Verizon.
Thanks!
There is an app that avoid's detected called ClockworkMod Tether, it's worth a try.
It doesn't require root either if security is a concern

Thanks but....
I appreciate the help but ClockworkMod Tether is a USB tether solution, not a wireless hotspot. I have never had this happen before on other carriers.

My DNA is Rooted, however no luck to tether with any of the available apps. Tried to search & "goggled" but was not able to get a clear understanding is a rooted DNA is able to WIFI Tether ?
Each app i am trying to check issue a warning that "A version LTE SIM" must be in order to Tether, but i am using a different SIM and i am not on Verizon.
Which one of you guys managed to work the WIFI Tether option ?
Any idea ? any app that is confirmed to be working ?
Just a few threads down someone asked a very similar question, the last guy to respond last night got it right, works fine for me.

Tethering on Vodafone(India)

Hi,
I got a silly problem with my HTC. i am using it in India currently and my Data package allows me to Tether. but since the HTC goes through AT&T it wont let me tether. I was wondering if there is a work around for this or if there is any good tethering app that doesnt need Root or any software installed on the PC.
Thank you

Kyocera Duraforce Pro unablement of the Mobile HotSpot function

Hello I live in Ireland and I bought my Kyocera Duraforce pro E6820 from USA. The phone is unlocked sim and the mobile data is working (APN setting are fine) with Irelands carrier (Three mobile) but when I try to turn on the hotspot that message appear "Network connection unsuccsessful. There is a temporary network problem that prevents the enablementof the Mobile Hotspotfunction. Please retry later."
So is that mean that i have to root my device and and change the rom and remove this AT&T restrictions or there is a easiest way to fix that problem.?
Thanks in advance.
Use pdanet app and you should be able to do it. I use the app on my Kyocera Duraforce e6820 with no issues.

just can use usb mode internet..can not hotspot :crying:
What's your firmware version? (e.g 1.015AT-3.xxxAT) The built in hotspot code is modified by the carrier that compiled the firmware, so no, probably no WiFi or Bluetooth tethering without root--USB can work fine though
