when i press root it sees the phone but when i press on flash it wo'nt!! see below

open regedit on you pc (with phone connected) and serach for

this will give yo usomething like this
"USB\Vid_0fce&Pid_adde\5&1a93e808&0&1"
copy the last part. in my case 5&1a93e808&0&1
open deviceID on 2.1_2.0.A.0.504_GENERIC_x10i folder that you`ve downloaded and paste your DeviceInstance.
then try again

If this is not the case note that I had same issue and I have reinstalled the usb drivers ...(attached). I have Xp but I belive they will work on other sistems (win). If you can not manage to reinstall drivers just say. Good luck

please tell me how to install the attached folder?

on what sistem?

First the folder contains a driver and I am going to explain the installation on win XP. In Device Manager in Xp find the SEMC HSUSB Device, right click and update driver. Select Install from a specific location and next, select don't search I will chose the driver to install and click next. In the next screen select Have disk and browse to the folder extracted from the archive you downloaded , after that click next and finish. It should work and find your x10 ...if not post one more
P.S: do all this with your phone connected to the comp with debugging on and with the sd not mounted

Windows XP pro SP3

i tried three times to update the driver with downloaded folder but it gives me the specified location does not contain information about your hardware after i select the downloaded folder
any other driver would help?

Ok. Try with this archive...maybe it will give you an error when unrared but it worked for me. I did not upload this archive first because of that error , this is the original one . Try

Try to right click-> install the " .inf " file in the folder first if you can not find it ....

nothing worked for me, maybe its a windows XP issues, i'm trying my other laptop which has windows 7 and hope it will work

nothing worked please help me!

[Q] Stuck at step 6 noob rooting guide

Hee fellows i have a little problem while routing my xperia x10i
i'm following a nice guide from synlar it's called: Newbies Guide to Rooting X10 and giving you the newest firmware!
"Note: This next step can take a while!
Open step2.cmd, don't press anything!
On the phone, a list of buttons will come up eventually. Press the 6th option (something about update from SDcard). ONLY PRESS IT ONCE!
Leave your phone alone. Go to the washroom or eat a snack.
You'll see the progress on the phone screen, as it installs the package. Leave everything alone."
im getting an error about that my device cant be found.
check image:
can't upload a picture of the error something with newb user
- I changed the device id in the text file
- tried it on 2 different pc's
and the flashing worked great i put the phone in debug mode i see in the left corner an exclamation but it won't work
please help me
hey try this its the only thing i got to work it was fast and quick and all you need is x10root.apk,
Win 7 x64
AT&T Xperia X10a
I was trying to root my X10a, using the one click method (X10Root.1.0.8.apk), and got hung up when trying to side load the app. ADB nor SWM could find the device. I finally got ADB to find my device. Here is how I got it to work.
Xperia- have debugging on
- have titanium backup free installed
- have busy body free installed
- do NOT mound SD
- have allow mock locations on
- have stay awake on
PC- have pc companion installed BUT terminate the process
- have the android sdk installed. (when installing I just installed everything)
- have android-sdk_r07-windows folder in C:/
- I changed the folder name above (android-sdk_r07-windows) to sdk
- have X10Root.1.0.8.apk file in C:/
- if google calander sync installed exit it.
With X10 plugged in and all above met.
Open command prompt
Type or copy and paste(if you changed folder name) cd C:\sdk\tools
Hit enter
Type adb kill-server
Hit enter
Type adb shell
Hit enter
Type adb install C:\X10Root.1.0.8.apk
Hit enter
Now the app should be on your phone. I hope this helps some AT&T X10 owners out there. Everyone keep up the good work.
thank u for ur reply im going to test it tonight when im home from work
Will let you know

I would now just run SEUS then the One Click Root. That guide only gets you to 023 so when you've run steps 1-5 your phone should have been debranded, so running SEUS will update you to 026.
so according to your post i have to connect phone then update via seus, and then what i need to download apk en how do i get that working on my phone
thanks for reply

Yes, if the first steps were successful, run seus then download the one click root apk.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
1. Update phone with SEUS to latest version (probably 026)
2. Root with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7913568&postcount=338

Do you downloaded flashtool? Then there should be a folder called drivers. Inside there is one setup (execute it) and three archives (unpack them). If he asks for drivers use the ones out of the unpacked archives. Try that
Sent from my X10i using xda premium
All you need to know an do and with videos. (link below)
Also make sure that you are in (run as administrator)
Make sure you have the updated Sony Ericsson PC Companion/Update Sevice.
All the drivers are there in the software and Get the right Flashtool/Firmware/Baseband.
If you have the Apps/APKs that you want on your phone you can put them in the Flashtool too, they go in:
Custom/Apps of the flashtool AND THEN AFTER you flashed/rooted/Xrecoveryed the phone just plug in the usb an go for it.

[Q] X10 MP xrecovery issue

I know this has been covered several times on multiple posts so i've tried every possibility i can find before posting this, i managed to install xrecover and CM7 onto an old X8 first time round no problems at all.
I moved onto my main phone the x10 MP and i've tried everything, the manual copy files into system/bin (canging the permissions) using flashtool to install busybox and xrecovery, and using the apk's recommended on here. None of which are allowing me to boot into the xrecovery menu. i genuinely am stumped. i've tried repairing via seus etc. I've also tried xrecover0.3 and the xrecovery mini version aswell. also both pressing the back button and sliding the phone open and closed a few times.
Any suggestions as im bored of stock eclair and golauncher now
1)go into settings>applications>development>turn on usb debugging .
2)connect your phone with pc through the usb and then select charge phone option on your phone .
3)extract the rar file and open the superoneclick
4)click on the root option
5)if no errors occur your phone is now rooted with xrecovery installed..
6)then reboot and press the back key when the se logo appers and you will in xrecovery menu.
http://www.multiupload.com/5U95M1J9WM
if you find my post usefull pls dont forget to click the thanks button
I originally used S..O.C to root my fone, didnt know that automatically installs xrecovery too. So best bit is unroot and re-root? Will try and get back to you. Thanks
as i suspected, superoneclick does not appear to install xrecovery, only busybox, so am nowhere nearer resolving this. any got any more ideas?
Pls try the superoneclick which I have provided you In the link above ... it installs xrecovery ....
k
open the installxrec.bat file in the superoneclick folder it will root your phone first then install the xrecovery.
reboot and then press the back button 3-4 times when you see the se logo at boot you will be in the xrecovery menu .
dont forget to click the thanks button....
SEXperia X10 mini pro, adroid 2.1 update 1 on tmobile. Baseband *****015 kernek 2.6.29
i've tried all these methods, scripts, manually moving the busybox, chargmon and xrecovery files to system/bin.
when my fone boots I get just sony ericcson in white writing, then a second one which is the animated sony ericsson logo etc, pressin back all the way through both of these, none of the methods work even after unrooting, repairing and then starting clean. Always says its installed but never lets me access it. Seriously, what am I missing??? The X8 was soooooo easy to do
do one thing now, reinstall the official rom through the se update service or se pc companion software after installation run the installxrec.bat file from the superoneclick folder which i have provided in the link above it will definately do the trick as i was also getting this same problem..
Ok I will try one last time when I get home from work,if it doesnt work I give up an will cry myself to sleep. Iif it does,im going to hunt you down and kiss u LOL
It woooooooooooooooooorked thats the same scrtipt i used from looks of the .bat file, not sure whats different but thanks, just hope CM9 is worth all this hassle lol
Just click the thanks button no need to hunt me down....
I'm having the same issue. I got the SOC version without the installxrec.bat file. Can someone upload it again please?

Just use flashtool to do it all, root, install xrec... it will do the necessary reboots and you can use flashtool to tell the phone to boot into recovery too, it's so much easier...

Did you use flashtool to root your device or superoneclick?
The phone needs a reboot after rooting, and one after installing busybox, flashtool will do that automatically, superoneclick won't.
Even when it says Root Access Allowed it is no guarantee that it will work.
Did you get a message on your phone to allow root-access to a service requesting that? you should tick the remember-tickbox and the yes-button.
You will only see that message if your phone is not on the lock-screen.

[Q]How do I fix my X8?

Hello,
I got a new phone that is purely for gaming, so I rooted it, got xrecovery, CWM, and installed a ROM called CM-X. I installed CM-X and it wouldn't boot. I have a recovery, which is ****ed. I don't have debugging on now for some reason. So my question is, how can I flash my phone to normal? I have everything to flash it. But no debugging = no flash. Please I need help, thank you all.
When flashing; I get this.
01/024/2012 20:24:20 - INFO - Start Flashing
01/024/2012 20:24:20 - ERROR -
01/024/2012 20:24:20 - ERROR - Error flashing. Aborted

01/025/2012 20:25:02 - INFO - Device disconnected

Hmmm. So your FlashTool managed to find your x8, but your SEUS cant ? Do you have PC Suite on your PC, because when you install it it install a pfone drivers too. So if you dont have install it, try to install it and try again with SEUS

You can root via Flashtool only by flashing an Old kernel then using Rootkit (in the link above) after its done. flash back new kernel..
I.e putting Your phone into flash mode then flash the kernels

I've tried doing that over the last 2 days too, flashing to .559 works but makes my phone slow as fk but it is usable.
The main problem I am having is with the Rootkit, I am getting adb errors etc, I will take a screenshot once I've done another attempt. Feel free to answer this if you do know how to fix it or just have something in mind, I'll be back in 2 hours.

I did everything you said and found out the real issue, I had 2 adb's connected, well, one virtual (bluestacks) and since it was listed first on the adb devices, I had to uninstall it. It is true that there isn't lag after installing a fresh copy of the .54 & then flashing to .599. Thank you for helping.
