[Q] Newby Needs Help Flashing - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

New Vibrant owner, here and need help flashing Nero V3. Here's my problem:
Rooted fine. Got Superuser and all. Loaded ROM Manager, Clockwork without a problem as well.
Downloaded Nero v3 voodoo.zip file, mounted my phone and copied to the SD card.
Went back to ROM Manager, clicked Reboot into Recovery. Phone reboots into Android system recovery screen (top is blue), with no option to select Nero V3. All I have is reboot system now, reinstall packages, delete all user data and delete cache data. The bottom half of the screen is yellow text and it ends with "Installing Muti-Csc."
Any ideas on what I'm missing?
Any help you can provide would be much appreciated.
Ken

you need to reinstall packages twice to load clockwork mod recovery.

Wrong place for your question Buddie
And as far as your answer is concerned your phone is not rooted yet
after you reboot being rooted click on reinstall packages and it would reboot into cwm reboot which is green color screen

Thanks. That worked. Appreciate it and sorry for posting in the wrong place. :-0

I am in Voodoo hell.

My Fascinate started hard locking after installing Voodoo. I decided to go back to stock. I forgot to disable Voodoo before doing so. Now my internal storage is showing no available space. Because of this, I cannot get into CWM to re-flash my device. Another annoying issue is each time I reboot the phone, I have to navigate the setup screen. I hope you can help. Thanks.
Does anything {FIXED} 0.00 internal storage problem help?
I did the EXACT same thing for the same reasons and am having the same results. HELP
happened to me..
download this and place this into your SDCARD (voodoo_uninstaller 1.4)
you should be able to get into CWM. just hold down power button and up and down volume button then let go.. it you lead you to the stock recovery and just scrow down to apply update.zip.. that should get you into CWM and choose to install zip from sdcard and choose the uninstaller. once you got that, voodoo should be completely off your phone. then just flash Jt's super clean DI01 .
The phone will only boot into the stock recovery. When I try to install the update.zip file, I get an error.
Can I delete the Voodoo folder and, or wipe the sdcard?

[Q] Launching Clockworkmod Recovery w/o Rom Manager

Sup.
I'm currently experiencing some particular issue with my Legend which is CWM issue.
I used to install some ROM via CWM3 Fake-flash and since that I can't access CWM at all. Even ROM Manager doesn't help. CWM recovery just doesn't appear to be installed
But actually I remember that I was experiencing absolutely the same issue about a year ago and someone gave me an update.zip or something like that which loaded directly from stock android recovery (fastboot) and launched CWM Recovery! But I have no idea where this guy is etc.
So can someone give me this precious zip file?
Thanks in advance.
Cwm5.0.2
Same thing than cwm3 fakeflash, better.
Put it to the root of your sd.
Apply update.Zip thru recovery.
View attachment update.zip
Sup, thanks for this file but I can not use it because it's not signed. Can somebody sign it?
I have a similar problem. I updated my radio and since then my cmw has vanished... rom manager works, telephone is still rooted but no way to enter cwm, no nandroid backup and so on. when i reboot in cwm the phone stills stuck in a black screen with a phone image and a red triangle... wtf?
EDIT: nevermind... lot of time to my last flash, didn't push vol+ + power to enter cwm. embarassing

Stuck at white splash after flashing!?!? HELP

I've tried flashing over and over, and keep getting stuck at the white HTC splash screen after flashing cm7!?!
I've tried flashing through RM and manually.
What I've done:
Downloaded MR2.5 Radio, renamed to PG05IMG.zip, put on root of sd, reboot to recovery, updated it. Booted into my current rom (Gingeritis 3D) and had a signal and everything. So I renamed the PG05IMG to MR2.5-PG05IMG.zip.
So I rebooted into Recovery, did factory reset, wiped dalvik cache, cache partition, and then went to install zip from sd, and went to the Zoom kernel I had downloaded (which I was told works with CM7),
I then did the same thing with the CM7 update rom image which is: update-cm-7.1.1-Thunderbolt-signed.zip
(I have it in a folder called ROMs, is that ok? or does it need to be on the root while flashing?)
I then reboot, and it doesnt ever get past the white HTC splash screen.
I've done it 3 times, making sure everything is wiped, etc and still get the same thing.
What am I doing wrong?
Can someone give me a link to a CM7/Kernel/radio combo they KNOW works???
I don't know what else to try.
I've Googled it, and found lots of people with the same issue, but find no solutions....
I had been doing everything right, but it seems Clockwork Mod Recovery was corrupt or something.
What I did:
I restored back to my last backup.
Opened Rom Manager
Click "Flash Clockwork Mod Recovery" (the top one, even if it says your up to date)
after it flashes CWM successfully, either download and flash a rom from Rom Manager, or do it manually as I did.
And after the flash, I rebooted, and it went right to the CM7 boot animation, and loaded perfectly.
If you were like me and searched google, and found lots of posts with the same issue, but no solutions. So I hope this helps others.
Thanks for all the help guys!
(goes to show sometimes you just gotta try anything and everything)
Did you flash the radio in recovery? Nooooo thats not how you do it. Rename it to PG05IMG.zip and place it on the root of your sd card. Turn your phone off. And then turn it back on by holding power and volume down at the same time. it will take you to the bootloader and it will ask you if you want flash the radio. I think that might help

Vibrant won't flash new ROM

Hello all,
I've looked on the Forum but can't seem to find the answer to this. In fact, I only found a comment about this issue on another forum and there were no solutions. Here's the problem:
I'm running a rooted T-Mobile Vibrant with Froyo 2.2. I don't have any lagfix or additional kernels, I have ROM Manager and Titanium Backup. I'm trying to flash Bionix Next Gen V2.
The first time I did it, I got the failed verification error, so used the batch file on this forum to fix the 3e recovery installer, did that, and the result is the same.
So, here's where I am:
-I go into rom manager, do the flash clockworkmod recovery, I'm on 2.5.1.2
-I have the update.zip and bionix.zip both on my sd card.
-I go to Install Rom from SD Card, choose Bionix, check backup existing rom and wipe data and cache.
-I click ok, it reboots it, gets me into recovery.
-THIS is where I have trouble. There is no option to "Install Zip from SD Card", only to "Reinstall Package". If I do that, it reboots the phone to my regular Froyo.
I can't seem to understand why the option to install Zip from SD Card isn't showing up even though it did the very first time I tried flashing (when I got the verification error).
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I feel like I'm so close that it's very frustrating.
Thanks in advance!
Flash back to 2.1 and use the update.zip in the noob guide sticky to install clockwork recovery. Clockwork doesn't play nice on the stock 2.2

Click to collapse
try hitting "install packages" twice then cwm should pop up
THANK YOU!!!!
A great big MERCI, you guys ROCK!!!!!
I double-clicked the Install Packages option and poof CWM recover popped up and allowed me to install from zip. I'm running Bionix Next Gen V2 and the speed's eye-popping. GPS locks on nearly instantly too.
Thanks again!

[Q] A bit of help please

Hi I have tried flashing my S2 but have run into an issue.
So i installed clockworkmod recovery 4.0.1.4 with the intention of installing cyanogen mod.
I then rooted the device using S2 root which said it was successful.
This was confirmed when i then installed and rom manager premium.
I downloaded Cyan from within rom manager and proceeded to install.
I selected to wipe data and dalivk.
The phone rebooted but hung for a long time on the white 3d triangle with an orange exclamation mark.
It then went into the clockworkmod recovery and I rebooted presuming everything was done.
Then my phone started as normal but went into the original rom but there was no app's, icons ect. I rebooted and app's icons were back.
So I rebooted into recovery mode again and tried to update from sdcard. no difference. So i read that wiping data/factory reset might help but now all i get is the boot loop between my carrier startup and the standard S2 startup.
I can still get into recovery and download mode but when i enter download mode I cannot see the phone in odin.
I have also tried putting the update.zip on my sd card manually from a PC download and use recovery mode to install it but thats not installing it either.
Any ideas or is my phone fubar?
All your questions answered and more in the dedicated thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1176411
Hi thanks for the reply, i wish i had found that thread before attempting this.
I have managed to get odin seeing the phone now so its looking good.
problem i have is i need these:
XWKJ1:
Firmware info: PDA: XWKJ1| Phone: XXKI4 CSC:O2UKJ1
XWKJ1 Stock Kernel:
Password is: [email protected]
but multiupload was part of megaupload i believe so everything is gone.
Do you know where else i can find these.
Not sure why you'd want it, but
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/ suggests http://hotfile.com/dl/145851215/0c1c8da/I9100XWKJ1_I9100O2UKJ1_O2U.zip.html
Thanks its just a learning curve, i will put cyan on again properly but want to learn as i go on how to do it right first time.
