hi there i rooted my fone a couple of mins ago using the exploid method (026), it was a great success.., lemme go back to my question.., how can i clean up the apps that i don't need.,
in bin4ry's method (024) on step2 folder there's a file called cleanup.cmd i just have to edit it and run it.., it will remove all the unnecessary apps like the moxiersh*t on my (024) x10i..,
but when i used bin4ry's cleanup.cmd on my (026) is says "mount: operation not permitted"
i know they have different sources, but can somebody help me cleaning up my 026x10i?
any links?
Use titanium backup
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Did you use the donate or free version of Titanium Backup? I have installed the free version but i still could not figure out how to delete or uninstall unwanted programs. Care to share how you did it? Thanks
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
long press the app u want 2 delete
nooo i dont need titanium backup.., what i said is.., the CMD(command) file in the root that can cleanup the apps using the computer not the phone itself..,
Jus use the cleanup file.. don't mount your usb, make sure usb debugging is on n c what happens!
as for titanium backup, there's nothing wrong with it.. does the job!! plus the full version can b used to freeze apps to c how the rest of your phone would react if u had actually uninstalled it!!
Sent from my rooted 026 X10i using swype via XDA!!
hi i still can't delete from titanium(free version).it doesn't give me an option to delete.
and from the cleanup file it tells me rm failed.red-only file system
yet the apps are still there!!(moxier, quadrapop etc.)
am i doing something wrong?
Download busybox of market and c if that confirms your root privileges..
if so then go into titanium n try your luck again

use exploid 1.08, once rooted again, open exploid app again, click unsecure shell, rerun the cleanup cmd. u should now be read/write mounted...

Make sure you edit the cleanup.cmd so it doesn't remove stuff you might need or want to keep.

If I remember correctly, what I did was uninstall it with TB, then using roorexplorer navigate to data/app and remove the apk, then went to app-private and removed it from there too.
thanks man, finally got rid of it!
HI people can you help me with this please as its bugging me wether to go threw with it or not.
i have just installed app2sd will xrecovery conflict with this.
as you have to replace the busy box file or can i just leave that file and replace the other files required
install first xrecovery and then app2sd
i do that and it works =)
I installed app2sd first, then xrecovery...
So YES, it works

There is only one little problem: once you install the app2sd, the xrecovery stop working due to the busybox that you use to put the app2sd. So is you want both apps working: install xrecovery, then install app2sd and then put the busybox of xrecovery again.

Dont have to be true.... I installed xrecovery, App2SD after and both works without problems and without any additional changes. Probably depends on method of installing app2sd.
thanks to all the help and making me understand it means alot thank you i have successfully got both on thanks again

i used the script located at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=888250 for installing xrecovery on my mini pro...and it works wonderfully...no need to worry about busybox..
i've seen a lot of people asking for a decryted sin files for flasher, and no one seems to have uploaded it yet for the u20i (x10 mini pro).
to help out, i made a fresh backup of 2.1.1.A.0.6 fw using xRecovery.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18393990/2.1.1.A.06.rar
this is pre-rooted, xRecovery pre-installed. not sure though if i was able to include offline charging mod. but if not, here is the modified xRecovery chargemon and the original chargemon which have been renamed to 'charger'
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18393990/modchargemon.rar
now, since this is a nandroid backup, you need to restore from xRecovery using the downloaded file.
first, make a backup of your own ( my backup will have a datestamp of 1980something, since i didn't bother changing the dates after i reflashed my phone before doing the backup)
1. donwload files, and extract the zip file into your sd card
2. restart phone and reboot to xRecovery
3. select backup & restore -> restore -> and select the unzipped folder on your sd.
4. once restore has been completed, reboot your phone. you can now restore your sms using stock SE backup&restore, and you can download your contacts from google.
if the offline charging is not enabled, just download the second link, extract them to your sd.
1. using root explorer, copy them (click menu, then press 'multi-select', then click the 2 files, and then press 'copy'), and go to /system, set "read/write" button to r/w, then click paste
2. using multi-select, move the 2 files to /system/bin
3. restart phone.
EDIT:
IMPORTANT: if you are flashing this to your phone, be aware that this is only a xRecovery backup, not the whole firmware itself.
it is only a backup of /system, /data, and /cache.
if you will check the root of your phone aside from the three, you will also see a lot of other folders, which some are the actual baseband itself, which you could only get thru flashing (FlashTool or SEUS/PC companion)
how to?
only use xrecovery?
my current fw version is 2.0.A.0.504
can i jump to 2.1.1.A.0.6?
Thanks for ur reply..
what is offline charging mode?

yep. once you have donwloaded the zip file, unzip that to your sd.
restart your phone and reboot into xRecovery, then choose backup & restore -> Restore, and then navigate to the unzipped folder (which is actually a backup of my own fresh 2.1.1.A.0.6 update from pc companion).
hope that helps

I believe you can jump to 2.1.1.A.0.6. That's what I did. You may have to root it again though using the ROOT NEWEST UPDATE x10 MINI PRO.exe
You can't update to newest version because 2.1.1.... Is based on a new kernel and baseband so radio wifi and maybe bt will not work. You have to first use seus or androxyde's and bin4ry's flashtool to flash kernel.sin and fota0 fota1 amss ... .sin files then xrec.

I can not confirm that, since the backup came from a fresh flash thru pc companion.
Doesn't xRecovery creates an image of your system? Or it is only an image of /system, /data, and /cache?

is this xrecovery backup of ures for the mini pro or just the mini?
my bad ..... i just reread lol thanks for the backup dude awesome stuff!

No, i have a stock rom (2.1 through update via SEUS).
I wanted do download it for making a custom rom (using dsixda's Android Kitchen)...or isn't it possible? Through SEUS i can't manipulate the rom...

Flash fresh your phone with SEUS. Root it with FlashTool, ask Root Permissions with FlashTool, install xRecovery with FlashTool, backup your phone with xRecovery, go to 'xrecovery' folder, find your backup folder, take the 'system.img' file from it and put it in dsixda's kitchen folder ('original_update' folder). The kitchen recognizes this. Use it to make YOUR ROM! ;-)
Thank me, if you want! xP

If i do a backup with xrecovery, modify the rom (want to remove some programs and so on), and flash it on my phone, will it have xrecovery installed or do I have to install it again?

Actually, I meant press Thanks button! xP
Yes, xRecovery will be already installed and your ROM will be pre-rooted since all those were done before you backed up your system. xRecovery is installed under system folder, as well as root. So, the answer is yes. ;-)
IMPORTANT!
Use update-script (Amend), which means your ROM will be installed with xRecovery or you will be in stuck in bootloop. But, if you are advanced cooker, use updater-script (Edify), which is used by ClockWorkMod Recovery and edit the script manually, because kitchen cannot convert the script properly.

Thank you again, I'm not at all advanced, I'm trying to get all the necessary information, this will be my first attempt.
But i do not use clockworkmod recovery (I have installed xrecovery, do you think the cwm is better?) and I noticed that the dsixda's Android Kitchen has a 'Check update-script for errors' but I do not think that it is what you are meaning...

You are welcome! xD
No, that's not what I meant. This check won't be 100% perfect. Kitchen says this check, won't prevent all errors. Also, xRecovery is more lightweight, but CWM is only to extend some features (such as ext3 backup, mounts, encryption and multiboot) and give more style to installtion. That's it. Since I am not advanced too, I use xRecovery for my personal ROMs. Later, when I get advanced, I'll think of learning updater-script. Now I am trying porting, but I still fail... I need more testings... You can be really helped from google or by the masters (developers), but don't piss them off! xP
Warning!
If you are cooking the original SE rom, do not remove 'backup and restore' at all costs. If you do, you won't be able to unlock your sim card. And also, don't remove gapps (google.apps.apk) or you won't be able to download from market. I did those mistakes, that's why I warn you. Have fun! ;-)

Strange, on my phone I have removed hi apk from /system/app and I'm still able to unlock my SIM (phone asks me for pin during the boot and basta)...
Well, all of you know that A2SDX by Amarullz didnt work for us!
I got it working very well (not buggy) on my Play here are the steps you have to do:
1. Make a clean Flash of your FTF .42 or .62
1.1 Format your SD Card with EXT4 as Primary
2. Boot Phone completly
3. Flash DoomKernel or any other kernel with init.d support
4. Boot Phone completly
5. Install BusyBox ( I have 1.18.2 its quiet good )
6. Reboot into Recovery
7. Flash Amarullz Script
Hope it works for you!
Does it still need to fix permissions after you reboot?
What is this? Is it like link2sd? I use link2sd right now

Yes in a way but even better with this mod you can use ext4 from sd card (any size you want i believe)as internal memory. Last time i used this on gb i had 4gb internel!

im gonna test on ics beta with doomv2 ics kernel and report back results
EDIT: DIDNT WORK ONLY GOT BOOTLOOPS. but im gonna try wit doomkernel v14 as that update has zram
Make a NAND befor you do this
strange enough, the first boot after flashing this i lost all network connectivity, and after i rebooted it again i got random reboots
Reboot again and Fix Permissions.. Do you have EXT4 Partition as Primary??
The last time i used Amarullz's A2SD, i had to fix permissions every time i rebooted, or else i wouldn't have any network.
That's a major inconvenience.
Has this been fixed?
i dont know.. i have installed busybox before installing this script and it worked fine for me... sometimes you have to read the original thread complete
