Ok..weird issue here. Was running Vegan 5.1.1 and all apps installed to sdcard2. Took the plunge to experimental vegan ginger edition. Everything was going great until my tablet would not boot. I had to re-partition the sdcard and so I started over. Did a format, nvflash and then flashed the ginger edition ROM again.
Now it seems all my apps install to the internal memory and titanium backup does not even show the external memory. I had to move the titanium backup folder to internal to even restore my apps. Note..sdcard2 does show in all file managers so I am not sure why it is doing this.
Just weird and wondering if something I installed this time changed where the apps install or if I did something wrong.
Any ideas?
froyo roms and gb roms use different storing methods. which is weird. someone mention theres a patch you can do and it would fix it but i dont know the link.
try re-mounting and restarting
I'm running CM7 and whenever I try to download anything from the market or update existing apps I get an error that says insufficient space and it won't let me. I have plenty of space on my SD card and my internal storage. Any ideas?
Edit: I think I might have fixed it. I installed the new market so I reverted back to the one that came with CM7 and it appears to be working now.
Hi,
I did a backup using Titanium Backup and Go Backup and after wiping my Motorola Defy, tried to restore apps, contacts etc.
The problems I encountered were:
1) Go Backup can't recognize backup directory on SD card for some reason.
2) Can't move apps to SD. An error occurs: "Move Application: Failed to move application. There is not enough storage left." Needless to say, I have more than enough storage.
This is was I encountered by far, although I believe these are just a small part of the symptoms for a single problem.
Maybe its because there are no permissions, or moving apps is impossible because of an existing app files on the SD card.
Does anyone know what is the actual cause for this?
Or is there a tool to fix the permissions on the Defy?
Thanks ahead!

I have no partitions on my SD card
No, I mean the internal memory of the device.

Does it has to do with the moving app to the SD card?
And it seems I do have a little space for apps, but how should I check it anyway?
The easiest way is to run Link2SD -> menu -> Storage Info
This will show all the mounted partitions, and space used/free.

Internal: 103mb used, 25mb free
SD: 8.71gb used, 6.12gb free
SD 2nd: not found
System: 178mb used, 148mb free
Cache: 16.29mb used, 177mb free
No idea?
I tried that:
1) Deleted the GO Backup directory
2) Removed the app
3) Re-installed the app
4) Copied back the backup from my PC
I could then see use the backup, but I still can't move apps to SD
Something must be jamming it
Can it be something with the mounts?
I haven't used Go Backup, so I have no experience with it, but it does seem that it's somehow involved/responsible. I noticed they have an update as of yesterday, so you can see if it makes any difference.
Have you tried putting your SD card into your computer? Does it function normally? Can you run a disk check on the card from your computer?

The problem is not with GoBackup, as it works now.
The problem must be with something jamming access to the SD card.
I tried to run a check from my PC and I get "No problems found"
And now, for some reason the phone activity crashes after I terminate a call
Well, all the applications I installed where installed using Titanium Backup.
While trying to install from Play Store, the device crashes.
It uses CM 7.2.
So it might be a permission problem in the device itself.
When i first bought the GN2 I also bought a 64GB SD card so I could put all the apps I wanted on the phone not realizing (until it was too late!) that I can't get apps to load on the SD card. Now, every time I try installing another app (wireless tether or GL to SD so I CAN move some apps) I keep getting an error message "Insufficient Space- please uninstall some apps for more space." I have tried uninstalling everything I am not using on a daily basis. I have used Root Explorer to delete empty folders in internal memory. Now I cannot install anything, not even apps to help. What do I need to uninstall to make this thing work again???
Verizon GN2, SCH-I605, rooted, bootloader unlocked, stock rom.

You can use an SD swap script if you are rooted.
You cannot add apps to the SD. Either use the swap script or use titanium backup, make a backup, and uninstall app.
If you are having issues installing apps when there are memory, readd you google acct/play acct. That fixed it for me when i could install some play store apps.
Hi Everyone,
I have an issue with my VZW GS4. All of my storage seems to be utilized by "phantom" files. I was updating my playstore apps yesterday and I got a memory almost full error. I only have 1 GB pictures, .5 GB music, and .3 GB applications used. I know the system is using almost half of the my memory off the bat, but looking at the files above, it did not make sense that I would only have 300 MB left out of 9GB or so available to me.
My device was rooted, but was still on the VRUAMDK Kernel flashed after rooting. I had Titanium backup installed but did not actually do any backups. I had CWM manager installed and had one recovery that took up a small amount of memory, so I wasn't sure what would be taking up all my memory.
I decided I wanted to do a wipe on the phone after backing up my pics/music to see if i could wipe the memory and start clean. I wiped the device using the stock recovery app and the phone still only has 4.2GB free. I guess a wipe/factory reset does not clean EVERYTHING off the SD card. When I go into the Device Memory section in settings, it appears I have half of memory free, but it still lists 4.2GB available. I did a file usage analysis and it does not listed Could something I had done in CWM Rom Manager created some hidden files that wouldn't get wiped? Does the GS4 auto software update download to a hidden folder before being installed? The phone recently download the new ME7 firmware which I did not install yet.
Using an android file browser i've looked around the SD card system folders but I would have no idea what would be taking up so much room. Has anyone else had an issue like this? Can I wipe the non-system partition of the SD card somehow? I am just not familiar with this and I wouldn't want to mess up the OS somehow.

Looks like a CWM recovery was sitting in root/data/media. I found this solution in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2274218
