Hello,
unfortunately my stylus cap came off.
Now the longer part of the stylus is stuck in the XDA :-(
Any ideas how to get it out again?

if you cant put the upper part into the xda and screw it a bit on and then pull it out
then maybe a longer metal or what ever stick with the same size thread
would be able to get screwed into the pen and then you can pull it out

When it happened for the first time I was able to "reconnect" screwing the top part on.
But now it's not deep enough. I just doesnt connect, because the main part slid in to far or the thread doesn't grip :-(
I called O2 and they said I would have to send it in...
Very anoying...
well a long screw with the same size and the top would be able to connect would it not ?
You need to get something with the same thread as the top half but longer, then just screw it in and pull the lower half out, if it is broken off then thats a different story.

I had this happen to me. I put some Krazy Glue in the top half and then pushed it onto the bottom half - waited about 20 sec, then it pulled out without a problem. My issue was the both screw threads became completely stripped.

I used the handle end of a small artist's paint brush.
The tapered, plastic shaft was just the right size to push into the stuck portion of the stylus.
Obviously you'll need to hunt around for the right size, but most households will have something similar.

I am happy to inform you that with your help yesterday I managed to release the stylus.
A long screw did the the trick for me easily.
Now the only problem left is the unstable screen color, but that's something I have to live with...

I search and don't see anyone else complaining...
But my P500h is new and the battery is tight and I'm continuing to have "adventure" I don't want to have when removing it.
Originally I tried a thin blade screwdriver in the holes to left and right of battery to pry the battery up. But plastic was getting chewed and at one point I had a SPARK ! LOL.
So I wrapped electrical tape around battery to help pull it out but it threatens to break the tape with the force needed.
So now I use my screwdriver carefully just under the SDCard and it works but I worry about slipping and messing something up.
So am I alone with this problem ? Any good way to "grease" the battery, but not too much ?

No problem as such. I press hard with my nail near sdcard (bottom) downword I see there's a slit on battery at that place. Press down and pull up.

Thanks 4silvertooth; I seem to recognise your username.
My SDCard is at the top to left of the camera when looking from the back with Android buttons down and headphone jack up.
I don't see any slits on the battery, just a tiny ledge at the top that I guess my screwdriver catches on. But sooner or later I will wear that off.
I just removed the tape, and it might be a bit easier to remove now, although there is some dangerous battery metal showing.
Perhaps I could wrap the battery with something stronger than electrical tape... Like those fabric like things used to pop AA etc batteries out of devices.
Well, huh... Are you sure you have the right battery inserted the right way? Because, there should not be any trouble getting it out at all. Let alone screwdrivers or anything like that needed. Goes out pretty easily with a fingernail.

It's the battery I got with the phone, and that the sales dude installed for me, and the phone works, so yes.
I get the impression my Canadian Telus P500h (Note the 'h') is different than the P500 most of you have.
This is the phone with battery installed. To the left is the phone top, and the thin blade screwdriver is over the SDCard and pointing to where I am prying the battery out. The pens at top and bottom of the pic are where I originally pried and now have broken plastic and some semi-exposed battery metal. At top of the pic (right of the phone) is where I got the sparks.

So I'm guessing from your descriptions of how easy it is, that there must be one or more things different on my phone.

Looks pretty much the same except for the red piece of nonsense right below the SD card which is causing all this. Stupid design.

You think ? It's an integral part of the back body and can't be removed without breaking stuff. Right now I can't even tell if it's the up and down or left and right that are most tight. Maybe both.
And even if it was removed, the battery has no slot at the end for a fingernail. Just a slight indentation over most of the end. With the force I need to remove the battery, I think lots of people would break their fingernail.
I've just marked this down as one of the engineering shortcuts that LG made to make a phone like this for $200. Having to pull that stupid battery out every SIM change or new ROM boot freeze is getting old fast.

Actually, now that I opened the phone - it is exactly the same, it is just that your photo has some weird shade so the red nonsense looks like it is lifted up to the battery edge. So, not really getting what it your problem except perhaps for being clumsy.
well my battery not giving any such trouble. We have different disign here I think that's why the trouble.

I blew up your pic and it's hard to see, but I think I see a fingernail slot in your battery by the SDCard. Mine has no slot, just a very subtle indentation.
And my battery makes a very clear SNAP sound when I push it in. Perhaps my battery is slightly different and a bit larger than P500 batteries.
My battery part # is LGIP-400N . It also says 1500 mAh 5.6 Wh 3.7v
and at bottom it says:
(T)SBPL0102301 LLL DC101203
Even your camera says 3.2 mine it says 3.0 so anybody with same specification would be helpfully.
The battery details are exact identical to mine.
So P500h is slightly different from P500.

I have a p500h, just like yours (3.2mp camera) and all you have to do is put you finger on the spot right below the SD Card, push your battery downwards then pull it towards you.
Please tell me this is a joke! Damn... now I'll have nightmares because of those photos.

No I'm afraid this is not a joke. And I've been working "seriously" with electronics/computer since I was a teen in the mid 1970's building everything from a vacuum tube transmitter to micros with the first generation of micros: SCMP, 8080...
And I've rebuilt automotive turbochargers and transmissions so I'm no mechanical klutz either.
Yes I know this is slowly wrecking the battery which I why I posted. In primary school I was the "smart kid" who was the only one to question something weird or incomplete the teacher said because everyone else didn't want to look "dumb" by asking. Same here.
My personal history aside I do exactly what you say: "put you finger on the spot right below the SD Card, push your battery downwards then pull it towards you."
It doesn't work on my phone. The battery doesn't move down that I can notice. When I try to pull it towards me it just won't budge and threatens to break my fingernail.
I note that there are two little tabs at the bottom. These seem to require the bottom to be placed first, then the top gets pushed in last. That's when I get a loud SNAP. I think whatever is making this SNAP is also what makes it so hard to remove the battery. The same SNAP was also made by the sales dude in the store when he installed the battery and I'm sure he does that hundreds of times a week.
The instructions in the manual are quite bad, IMO. They didn't even mention all the little film things that should be removed. Perhaps there is something else that needs to be removed that the manual didn't mention or that I overlooked. Just stabs in the dark here now.
Well, PEBKAC case excluded, since noone apparently has similar problem, then either your phone is faulty or the battery is faulty. This simply is not normal, there is absolutely no need to use screwdrivers and excessive force to do this.
Would suggest to RMA the thing.

Yes doktornotor, I suspect you are right. I suspect it might have been a bad or out of tolerance phone/battery or perhaps excessive temps or humidity or whatever during storage and shipping.
I returned another phone to get this and they already told me I can't return this one, LOL. As defective I'm sure I could, although I'd bet they'd give me a very hard time, especially considering the damage to the battery now..

Well, I have seen quite a bunch of phones almost impossible to even open. I recall one Nokia which I felt I will crush completely trying to remove the back cover. Tremendous force required. So trust me when I am saying that this one is about the most easy one to remove the back cover and the battery.
If it really bothers you since you are changing SIM cards frequently, would suggest going to some shop and test with another battery or two. If it is the battery, those are relatively cheap to get a replacement. If it is the phone, well... your screwdriver-scratched battery has nothing to do with that defect so you should not have any trouble trying to RMA it.

Yes, some good ideas.
SIMs are not the major issue. Trying ROMs that result in boot freezes are the main reason to keep popping the battery.
I wish there was a hidden hardware reset switch on these phones somewhere.
Heck, it wouldn't be hard for the designers to make such a feature that triggered by holding power, or some combinations down for 10+ seconds.
I'd buy a replacement battery off eBay for cheap. At worst you end up with the same situation and a spare battery for 5 USD or so (+ VAT or whatever y'all call it). At best you have a better-fitting battery on the cheap.
My pen is so far off I can hardly use it. I tried the LCD calibration pen test, but even that's hard to complete because I have to draw beside the boxes, and I am unable to draw near the bottom of the screen at all ..
Did you change your LCD density? Maybe the unit went bad on you. Go to the ATT store and have them look at it.
Idk if this helps but one thing that helped me was when i read that the Spen is setup to work best at a 45 degree angle. I used to use it more at a 90 and the calibration was way off.

I haven't done anything with the density .. and I've done the pen test several times. If anything, it makes it worse. I can hardly complete the pen test because my pen barely touches the boxes before it physically goes off the bottom of the screen.
it's off by about half a centimeter.. don't really notice until I'm trying to sketch in Sketchbook, which is basically impossible. Maybe I should try a wacom pen and see if that's any better

I am going to Home depot today and get some aluminum Tape and try this.
Possible Fix Video for S-Pen
That tape is pricy. Hope you can find a small roll. I wonder how the guy in the vid figured that out. Amazing. Hope it works for you.

When i did ot i just drew in the center of the boxes until all of them are green
&&does the tape still fit in the s pen holder thingy on the phone?

I think you're missing my point. If I draw in the center of the boxes, the line appears outside the boxes, and they do not turn green. I can draw to the side of the boxes where the line appears in the boxes and they turn green, but this does nothing to help my issue. There is still about a half centimeter difference between where I place the tip of the pen on the screen and where the line appears.
I would like the line on the screen appear directly underneath the tip of the pen, not off to the side.
Also, from that video I don't see anything about the tape addressing my issue. As far as I can tell it just reduces the sensitivity and prevents the pen from working at extreme angles. My issue is with the calibration of the pen..

It cost me $7 for a roll at HD. I'll let you know after I finish the honey do list for today.
I noticed that my phone was "soft" to the center left.. The right is firm and will not move at all wh n. Pressed with my finger... But the left side moves a little... It's soft if you will. Now it moves only a little but it does move... Also the top left corner is slightly higher then the right upper corner. Again it barely noticeable but it's there... Is anyone else having this issue???? There is nothing wrong with the screen as far as functionality...

Judging by the teardown videos.. You should be able to just pop the top cover off, and the bottom cover on the back of the phone. And see if any of those screws just need to be tightened?
Because once you undo those the whole thing pops out as one piece from the aluminum body. If that doesnt work, then I'd say it's the screen itself and I'd swap it.

Does anyone find it easy to attach the charging cradle?
I find that it never clicks in first try and I end up pushing in numerous spots trying to get it to click in.
When I press in the middle of the screen it takes so much force I'm scared I might break the screen.
When I push on the left/right sides or top/bottom of the bezel, it doesn't seem to be effective. After. Much messing around it eventually clicks in.
I'm wondering if anyone has worked out a fool proof method for quick attachment.

It's the strap in the way, after a while of wearing the watch and flexing the band where it holds the watch by the notches for the cradle, I have found that makes it slightly easier to attach it.
the first time i tried to attach the cradle i needed to call samsung because it says in the quick start instructions to "gently" attach the cradle. F that, it took a good push to click int place. the best way i have found is to align the charging pins with the watch, hold the watch in place and wait for the display to light up. that lets you know it is in place. then PUSH until it clicks into place. also, i wouldn't push on the screen. rather place your thumbs on each side of the display when you push.

It's not easy to attach, it always feels like it's not quite in the right place and it takes a lot of force to click it in and a lot to pull it off too.
I find that pressing on the silver edges with both thumbs rather than the screen works for me. Pulling it off using the tab with as much pressure as it needs.
I worried about the first couple of times but not now.

I had the same problem. But after looking at the charger there is small notch in the middle of the top.. I try to align that with the small notch that it supposed to fit into. If you accomplish that, the charger will quicly snap into place without much effort.
Removing it does take a reasonable tug on the tab.
Yup. There is a trick to finesse it into place! Same with the Gear Fit and with the Gear Live. I put it in my left hand and cup it, line everything up and cup my other hand over the top and press gently together that way. As it is used it gets easier.
When I remove it I put my right index finger under the top strap, cup my left hand under the watch with my left palm against the left edge, and use my right thumb to push down on the tab.
I've feel the same way you do and feel like I'm going to break it. Been a week and still struggle every time I charge it.

Easiest way is as said above...
There is a notch on one side of the cradle. Line that up with the hole on the back of the watch and then press lightly on the lower edge of the cradle and it will click into place easier than any other method.
I'll be glad when more chargers are available
I had no problem attaching the cradle actually, but what I find hard is getting the cradle DETACHED! There is a lever at the side you push, but it is quite stiff and if you are not careful either the watch or cradle will go flying across the room. I tend to support the side of the watch on the bed sheet while pushing the lever on the other side....but it certainly isn't as easy as I think it should be.
This is becoming my favourite thread lol
It's fun just imagining people reading this and trying out these methods.
It really should be a simple operation to attach and detach a charger though.

Agreed, Honestly this is the most annoying feature of this watch.
It should be but is not for me.
It's a lot worse than with gear and gear 2. I cannot observe how nice is the qi charger from moto 360 and So Stupid Is what we got for gear s. Anyway..gear s is at least 2 generation ahead of android wear, even the gear 2 is but this is a pain in the ass from samsung, a bad design. Maybe we will get right in time but now it painful.
