Hey guys, I installed this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865580 it's great, working (and looking) like a charm!
Thing is GPS isn't working! Maybe it's cus I haven't set up the APN settings yet, but I thought GPS didn't need it (I'm connected to Wi-fi for google to load up the maps)
Maybe it's something I deleted while cleaning it up even more? Which apk is needed for GPS?
It used to work fine in the older ROMs, now the icon still appears, I turned it on through the widget and still google keeps waiting for "my location" and doesn't find it.

Think I'll just wait for the new ROMs with the MT firmware to show up then.
Questions like this should be asked on the original threads, starting threads about other threads just clogs the board.

So you did, Today, 01:23 AM, have you tried reinstalling, as you said you've removed more things? It's best leaving anything related to google installed.

I can confirm the following problems with FreeX10-Bet4:
Battery drains incredibly fast, but not always. Yesterday morning the phone got hot and I could almost see battery indicator drop. However, in the afternoon, after a reboot and once I have charged the phone, it was not that bad. At least not hot. No change of apps, environment, whatever.
Problems with BT headset. At least with mediasound. Sometimes the headset connects but most often not. The phone indicates the headset is connected (both phone and media) but mediasound goes to the loudspeaker.
(I have to post this thread since I'm not yet allowed to post to the development thread. The new policy, sorry for this.....)

You are not the only one with this problems.. so you didn't have to make a thread for this. Read the official thread and find the answers there
I did read the official developer link and I did not really ask for help on this . My intention was to add some more info for troubleshooting, since I did not find anyone else stating problem vary over time. Since I work with system development myself I normally find all additional info on problems interesting since this could help me pinpointing the root cause.
Maybe XDA should consider open special threads just to report problems and not asking specifically for support. Now everything is mixed up, and this must be quite frustrating for the ones actually working with ROM development.
Yeah, new forum policy....
I have some points too. Maybe someone can give a hint.
I have some trouble with the audio through the headphone jack. The sound is kind of broken like a wrong DSP filter is set.
3G WatchDog does not count the traffic for each app but I am not sure if thats a problem of FreeX10 or 3G WatchDog himself.

i have freex10 running for some days now, but still the old market...actually no matter, because it does what it's needed for as well...but the new icon looks cooler...

Hi
Please excuse my Japanglish, as well.
I had a perfectly working X10i, and installed FreeX10 Beta4. I preferred stock 2.1 rom so I tried to restore the back up I createded Xrecovery. Then it went something wrong, and I get this endless "force close" message saying system failed starting when I start up. So I cannot get to the programs now which can restore the system. No matter how many times I reboot it is same. Is my phone so called "Bricked"? Is there any way I can start restoring program by pushing bottoms when I boot up before Free X10 kicks in? This is a really costly error.
I keep getting the "Process.android is not responding" a lot and "System" is not responding too. And the phone sometimes reboots/turns off by itself. I'm running J.A.F.'s CM7.2 with the fix applied, allinone, ICS theme with animations. Governor set to SMARTASS and min cpu up to 245MHz with max at 800.
Does anyone have any idea about this? I'm starting to get these frequently.
Besides those error reports, reboots/turn offs, everything works flawlessly. I really don't know what the issue could be :/
I suggest trying a full wipe - dalvik/data/factory and reflashing without the theme. I had no problems without the theme. Don't forget gapps.

What are gapps for? I never used them or flashed them. But will do the full wipe if it happens again, already backed up all my apps.

Yeah man, I know what you mean. But Quick Pic messes up when I scroll from picture to picture. When I slide to the next image, it lags the previous one behind it and shows the next one but with the previous one chopped up behind it.
Let me take a screenshot....
EDIT: Reinstalled and there's no lag. The difference is that I took off the ICS theme. I'm not sure if the theme was the one that caused it but its not happening anymore. If it happens again, I'll post a screenshot.

I would still flash them. Those you don't use can be frozen. Some of these apps need each other to function. For instance I have been told by many people that the Market need GTalk to work. Save yourself unnecessary trouble and play it safe.

Thanks. Will flash after completely wiping phone.
EDIT: Weird, I wiped everything (Cache, Dalvik cache, Factory reset) then reflashed the rom and my phone was stuck on that ANDROID word before the bootanimation. Was I supposed to go back to CM7.1 and reflash 7.2?
I forgot to mention, I moved all the Dalvik Cache to the SD card with S2E. Think that would have performance issues?
Hi, the truth is I´m having a little strange issue. First I thought it was a problem in a ROM. but after trying a few LPH ROMs and start removing things, I have concluded that it is the contacts syncro. I´ll try to explain myself a bit better to see if someone comes up with some solution.
If I install any LPH ROM (I tried 5 or 6 different) and I skip the gmail account, I have no problems in access to the contacts app or the phone one, but when I sync with gmail two things happens:
1. I can still go to the phone, from there to favorites and from there to all contacts. In this way, I see contacts perfectly.
2. But If I go to the contacts application The screen locks turns into to black, after that the phone application also crashes and I have to reboot.
I tried to correct permissions. Even with a cache cleaner (read that cleaning the cache of the contacts could help) but I'm pretty sure it will not be the correct way to clean the cache of contacts.
Let's see if someone comes up with a little something becouse I´m running out of resources ...
Thanks and best regards

I couldnt find the development thread for CM09, so Im gonna ask it here, 2 days ago the sync with my Google calendar from some reason stopped, since then I tried flashing CM09 update-cm-9-20120423-NIGHTLY 2 times, but it didnt fix the problem, it started all of a sudden. Any ideas on how can I fix it
?
Doenst matter what calendar app I downloaded same result. It doesnt show my calendar, seems like the sync is broken or something when ever I go to accounts, and click on Sync calendar, its running for a few seconds then stops like it finished, but the Calendar is still not loaded.
Try a factory reset in the first instance. Then try flashing latest 25/04 CM9 nightly (do a clear cache/Dalvik after you flash it). If that doesn't work, ask in the CM9 discussion thread (good thing you didn't find the dev thread & post an issue like that; you'd likely end up with an infraction/ban. This isn't a dev issue).

First of all Thank you! I was thinking about factory reset, but first I wanted to hear some tips, or if there is a fix without factory reset, but Ill give it a go, first have to move some of mine music so Ill have enough space to create a backup.

I have fixed the problem, just removed my main account, and added it again. It was pretty easy, but still I wonder why it stopped syncs all of a sudden. Anyhow, Thank you all for your help.

last time i checked you cant remove main account..... is that the gmail account you signin to setup your phone??
Yep. Seems like you can do it, I have 2 accounts. It might be only with CM09. or with ICS. Because I remember you had to do a reset in order to change the main mail in Gingerbread as well. So it sort of suppressed me as well.
Glad you got it sorted easily without doing anything too drastic. I'll remember to suggest deleting/re-adding the account first next time this one pops up in here
Yep.. You do that!
Hi!
I am using DSC's ROM (on 1.7 ATM) and I sometimes get a "flashing lights" and immediate reboot when my phone tries to use location services -I can't be sure if it's GPS, WiFi, or both-. I think I flashed the right BB when I installed the ROM -there was a batch script that took care of that if I remember correctly-, but quite frankly, after having spent many hours around the forums, not being sure what to do exactly, and having a bit of fear of bricking it/whatever; I'd rather ask beforehand. So:
What should I do?
About phone says:
BB: GAUSB1A1406214-EU
Thanks!
try disabling > use wireless networks
it should be inside > location & security settings
something similar..
I just did; the phone crashed and it's now rebooting. I was running logcat at the time, but nothing relevant showed before the reboot.
well... usually try using dsc 1.0 and see what happen..
there are reports that google maps is the causing of the problem though.. i dont use it btw...
Oddly enough, I've just tried several apps which use location services and it has not yet crashed. It's not getting a fix since I'm indoors, but at least it hasn't crashed yet...

Try installing the latest version (2.1) or DSC 2.0 they have less or even none issues. Don't forget to wipe caches and fix permissions.
The behaviour didn't change when I upgraded from an older DSC ROM to 1.7... Why would it matter exactly? Were there any bugs corrected on that release that could affect the location services?

Take a look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1751041
I read the linked thread and it sounds very much like the problem I'm having. However, I thought that problem had already been corrected by 1.7, and I couldn't see any output on the logcat the last time it rebooted. So: should I try with the 366BB and Kernel? Should I upgrade to 2.1? Thanks!

I can't really be sure about it, but... wasn't that change already present in 1.7?
How long could it take, and how hard would it be for a n00b like myself (although with some programming experience) to add some logging output when the reboot *would have* happened?
Thank you really! I'm getting more and more interested in this!
