How come the folks at cyanogenmod aren't interesting in porting their gingerbread 2.3 rom over to the LG Optimus One/T.
Hasn't this phone sold a few million units in only a couple of months? Also since it's such an incredible phone for the price (easily the best phone per dollar, hands down) you'd think they'd be all over it.
Anyone?
also AOSP gingerbread....nothing.....lg optimus one has a good hardware....same legend....but legend has gingerbread rom.....because is HTC!....maybe lg doesn't publish all source code??
Is it a common thing to have a new version before the official one ?

If it helps, a few people and I are going to start developing AOSP 2.2 for the Optimus S over at AndroidCentral... You could port it to the P500 then.
From what I have heard they will officially support it but it is still in beta http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1043070
There has been talk that the next phone that CM would support would be the LG 2X being a dual core but no mention of O1. Sigh...

Unfortunately, the Optimus One/T is a great value but not nearly as exciting as the LG 2X. The specs for the LG 2X are fantastic. I think buying the Optimus T for $100 was a fantastic buy. However, if I had a choice of which phone to use, I would definitely choose the LG 2X.
Despite what I have said above, if LG continues to sell the Optimus One, I think they will support it. I just wish it was sooner rather than later.

Hello,
First of all i wanna say i couldn't find any thread about LG optimus sol (E730).
My question is "Will it be possible for this phone to run ICS ever?"
And by that i mean is there any chance for LG to update the phone or is any dev willing to bring an ICS rom to this device or are there ROMS from other LG phones that are compatible to this one?
I am considering buying this phone so any answer/advice would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Don't buy it , no Dev support and lg will take years to provide ics upgrade x

I just bought it. I'll know more in a few days I think but so far is a decent choice for its price. The phone appeared only at the end of September so I think this is the explanation for the fact that there are no custom ROMs. I guess in few months we'll know if it will be a hit and will get better support from LG or our beloved devs. If only the phone will repeat at least half of the success story of Optimus One we'll be lucky....
It will get an official ICS update in the 2nd quarter of 2012, together with the P990 and that PRADA phone. The P970 and the Optimus 3D will get an ICS update in the 3rd quarter.
I'd like to post the Source, but i only have 2 posts, so i'm not allowed to post outside links... so... yeah, just check LGs Facebook page:
Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) OS Upgrade Schedule said:
LG will be offering the Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) OS upgrade for a range of LG smart-phones which were introduced this year. The global upgrade schedule will begin in the second and third quarters of 2012, which will be followed by a global roll out.
During the second quarter of 2012 upgrades will begin for the following smartphone models: the LG Optimus LTE, Prada phone by LG 3.0, the LG Optimus 2X, the LG Optimus Sol, the LG my Touch Q and the LG Eclipse. These upgrades will be followed by upgrades for the following smartphone models during the third quarter of 2012: the LG Optimus 3D, the LG Optimus Black, the LG Optimus Big, the LG Optimus Q2 and the LG Optimus EX.
LG will be taking all possible measure to offer a smooth OS upgrade in a timely manner. The exact start dates can vary by market, as each country can have different requirements, depending on the carrier and the smartphone model.
LG would like to thank its customers for their most valued loyalty and support. Further details on the ICS OS upgrade, including their exact start dates, will be released prior to their commencement. Please stay tuned for more updates from LG.
Thank you.

It offers quite a decent bang for the buck, but indeed, it has very little dev support so far. I'd probably fork out a little more dough and get the P990 instead.
PS: Of course the release dates are to be taken with a grain of salt - it's LG after all.
i just bought th optimus sol and I have to say it blew my mind. I previously owned an LG optimistic one. I find smartphone with 4 inch displays to be a bit too large for me. It is very fast and I am glad it will recieve ICS after all.
Really this phone does not deserve any attention from the XDA community? There is no thread allocated but only mentioned in a few posts. That's a shame...
Probably this phone will catch attention but in the near future.
It is really a nice phone for its price
Indeed.
Dar parcă s-ar vinde numai în România.

+1!
Im new in this foro, but i no found any subforo for the movile. And i think its a good phone, although the LG support have bad fame...

Ok, so far almost no E730 user has any interest in developing this phone. The phone will get custom roms if he has a forum on XDA. A forum won't appear unless we vote too. So get all our friends and stuff to vote.
PS Thanks God for CyanogenMod... at lease we have A custom rom.

MIUI for LG optimus Sol (E730)
ICS (android 4.0.4) official with new kernel(3.0.8) is released by LG Italia (v20c):

Hello there guys and girls,
First of all, I don't really know if I should ask that here, or ask it at all
Anyway, I want to buy my first smartphone, and I would like that to be a dual-core android.
I am really getting a haedache for my choice... I currently am between ATRIX and Optimus 2X.
Which has better support? (Ofc I mean support from XDA-Developers.com)
Are there any other android smartphones that are dual-core and worth buying at this price range?
Please help
P.S.: For once more I am sorry If I posted in a wrong section but I couldn't find the right one. Be kind with me mods :}
P.S.2: I just realised that I wrote cellphone and not smartphone in the thread title. -_-
Hmm, any thoughts?
I should choose the optmus 2x i don't know why but i think that, that phone get better support
The O2x in my opinion. LG's software end isnt great but with MIUI or CM, it is a brilliant phone.
Also, LG announced that the O2X is getting the ICS upgrade in the first quarter of 2011

But, isn't it going to be tough for the 512RAM of LG to handle the ICS?
Yeah but it a dual core device.....I have a gwx ...which is the same as the o2x and its amazing.

i currently have a LG optimus one p500, looking to buy a new phone.
Im sort of thinking of getting a 'last gen' model unlocked cheaply ($300ish). minimum 4" display.
My question is what phone will be best supported by the community in the future, and will run most stable. right now my LG P500 is great for support, its so old and slow but theres still great development going on for it.
ICS/CM9 is a must (its on my p500, no way im downgrading). what phone supports this best right now? Im thinking perhaps the incredible s or LG 2x?
thanks
Probably Galaxy Nexus
Well there has been a lot of speculation for the next nexus device and many a lot on internet are claiming the next nexus device would be based off LG's flagship phone LG Optimus G and the new nexus would be termed as LG Optimus G Nexus....
Reports also say that the device will probably be launched next month at a conference oraganized by both Google and LG.
Given that we have used LG's remarkable Optimus One P500 series....what do you think of the next nexus by LG...
If you had the money...would buy the phone?????
Do share your reviews....
Looks like an amazing phone plus with Google giving the updates. Unmatchable

i think the only issue with lg phones is about updating roms. LG has not convinced it's customers in updating the roms. for example when GB was released, LG updated the optimus one very late and also it didn't update the rom for my region. but i believe LG is better than SAMSUNG or the other phones. I have read some reviews about 3 powerful phones in the market such az LG 4x HD, Samsung galaxy s III and htc one x. i concluded from those reviews that among these three phones, LG is the best in shape and performance and battery and in overall. so i like to see the next nexus with LG. it can be a great phone and if i have money i will buy it.

Wow, that almost looks like an iPhone : |
Not a smart choice after, you know, Samsung and Apple...
Anyway, LG is totally OK with me. As long as Google itself will update the smartphone, there's no problem if LG, HTC or Samsung build a Nexus.
Does anyone have a day or time, we will be updated to the new android? T-Mobile version.
Soon...
How soon ..
Take a calendar, go to February, cross out days 1-15, then throw a dart on it. Pretty much as accurate of a guess as any.
It really sucks that LG has decided to shaft it's flagship in order to release 6.0 first on the G4, when all their advertising is for the v10.

I hate to say it, but the V10 is far from their flagship device. Maybe after releasing V10 variants a few times it'll get there. Until then, the G series is still considered the LG flagship, even if it is cheaper. I love the V10 more than most and I'm sure we will have MM sooner than later.

Exactly. The G series is their flagships. Their others are, honestly, niche devices that they don't really focus all their efforts on.
