2 posts up in the answer.
is the easiest way
Eminence v1.2 + jit enabled = x4 speed (trust me)
and battery life will increase around 70%
Really important that you DON'T use ATK to kill system tasks or persistent apps. If you don't really know what you're looking for it's much better not to use it at all... I don't.
Hello,
Thank you everyone for your suggestions, I still have some questions. (Sorry can't help it)
1) What is xrecovery? If I use it will I miss my official 2.1 firmware? (Does it flash to Custom/Un-official firmware?) I'm scared due to the number of bugs.
2) If its unofficial, Can I still use JIT with my official 2.1?

I am currently using Advanced Task Killer. (Widget on my main screen) to kill applications.

Also, I have Security as High and Auto Kill to None in the ATK.

Simply put, Xrecovery helps you to install custom ROM's, Themes and helps you to backup and restore data on your X10 the easier way ... More details and download HERE

Launcher or Home is the application that manages your homescreen,[you have the stock launcher] main applications menu etc... Open market and search for ADW launcher and/or Launcher pro, Install one of them or both, to set your launcher click on the middle hardware button on your xperia, you will be presented with the launcher choices, select the installed launcher and experiment with it... for more details search the forum...

Read all the instructions carefully, and follow it to the book and please use the search function and read through the threads before you ask anymore questions.
Thanks for everyting.
I have installed xrecovery along with JIT successfully!
Installed ADW launcher.
1) Now I'd like to know if there are anymore tweaks that could improve the performance of the mobile?
2) How can I increase my battery performance? (Life)
All your suggestions definitely helped me out.And by the way, I did do my homework before I went through my questions.
Thanks for everything
from the fact that you have been able to root, install xrecovery and JIT i'd say that you are more than capable of doing most things that are suggested on this forum (more than most of the people that seem to post here anyway!) so i'd suggest just reading over a few different threads in the dev section for more information. knowledge is power, as they say

Details:
This is my Second Custom Rom for X10(had to delete first one in just an hour as according to XDA Moderators there were some warez[paid apps] in it),thanks to zdzihu's xRecovery we can now flash user ROMS to our X10.This is a modified and customised SonyEricsson 2.1 2.0.2.A.0.24 Rom(rooted with JIT Enabled). The biggest reason why i created this ROM is that i have personally experienced some great changes(on a positive side) in this firmware(2.0.2.A.0.24),and i therefore created it with JIT Enabled, full root access and some usefula and entertaining apps and games.
Changes in this Firmware:
There are many differences but some of the most prominent ones are as follows:
1. It is stable and faster then ever.
2. Mediascape and timescape are now very fast and fluid, the lag is gone now.
3. The lock screen is acting better and now it is more fluid and doesnt lag at all.
4. And above all the biggest issue has finally been resolves by SE to most extent, that is the incall volume is finally loud and clear(much better then previous,(though not perfect, coz nothing is perfect is this world.lol!).
How to install:
Copy the zip file[SK_007(Custom)ROM V1.1.zip] to the root of your sd card, then reboot into xRecovery and click intall custom zip, then select SK_007(Custom)Rom V1.1.zip,it will start installing it,when finished reboot your device and Voila! its done,Enjoy.....
Whats included in this Rom:
1.It is based on the latest 2.0.2.A.0.24 Rom
(Firmware version 2.1-rooted-zdz)
(Baseband version 2.0.4.9)
(Kernel version 2.6.29
[email protected]#1)
2.Off course it is rooted and JIT Enabled
3.I have included a lot of useful apps and some nice games(all tested and working fine)the names of some prominent apps and games are below:
***ADW Launcher EX(Removed on the request of XDA Moderators,as it is a paid app)***
1.Launcher Pro
2.Games for e.g Asphalt 5,FIFA 10,Gangstar,Lets Golf,NFS Shift,Homerun Battle 3D,Angry Birds and a lot others...
4.Res mod 1.4 applied(Thanks to XperiaX10iUser)
5.Many more things, but feeling tired to tell about all of them, lol!

Note:I want to appologise Mods,as it wasnt my intention, but i did that as i was a bit unaware of some rules,i hope now this Rom is ok and i promise i will be careful in future.
Any chance you can do a backup of the new ROM, which is just Vanilla, with just Root and Jit enabled? No other modifications?
Think this would be handy for quite a few people

Bravia Engine 61.0087651409% done.
It now allows for using the phone's display as a HD projector.
Practically no its not possible without open boot loader. You can't change or increase pixels without unlocking boot loader else 16 mil colors would have been out long time back

Please Help! No Bravia Engine option after Wolfrom Install
hello,
This is my first post, so please do bear with me... thank you.
I have an X10 on Orange (UK) and the stock 2.3.3 upgrade was rolled out last weekend.
I upgraded my phone to stock 2.3.3, and about two hours later rooted it (Ads were really bugging me) and then yesterday I installed the Wolfrom (Wolf_GB_2.3_TW_V4.zip) very easily using xRecovery. I followed these steps:
1) use the SE Backup & Restore for 2.3.3 (so glad this was available on this forum as I couldn't see it when I first upgraded and all my contacts etc had gone of course).
2) Boot phone in xRecovery and back up rom
3) Full Wipe, Clear cache partitions, Wipe dalvik cache
4) Install Cutom rom (as above) and then reboot phone
this worked great! And I had the rom on my phone, saw for a few seconds it worked then decided to use 2.3.3 backup and restore (had to install again) to get my contacts, messages and system settings back. I didn't check between installing the rom and restoring whether the BRAVIA engine was available, but when I look now, the Mobile Bravia Engine is NOT available in my Display Options, and I don't know if I have the battery tweaks which were mentioned in the thread installed either.
The phone defintely boots up as Wolfbreaks ROM, but I think my Restore may have messed something up, I just don't know what. Can anyone please advise?
To reiterate, i don't have the Mobile BRAVIA engine, or the new funky battery indicater (which is meant to improve battery life?), but do have the EDT tweaks app available. Can anyone help please? I will need to run a restore to keep my contacts/bookmarks at the very least - I can probably live without the text messages and mms messages. I am wondering if it was just me selecting "System Settings" when I restored that could have caused all this. Thank you so much in advance for anyone who can help.
Regards

Search for flashtool pal and use that. That will root, install xrecovery and even unlock it bootloadsr. Among other things. Basically no there isn't a risk really with rooting ur phone. It can be uprooted very easily and it opens ur phone to a world of possibilities. Hi!
I am trying to put everything I like on a stock 2.1.1.A.0.6 rom.
I done some usual tweaks in Stock rom:
- Rooted
- xRecovery
- JIT
- dualtouch
- undervolted
- hacked market
- removed junk apk
- added my own favorite apk
The only thing I see in other custom ROMs that I would like to have but i dont find, is that Reboot Menu, on Power Menu.
How can that be done?
I searched and found it used in many roms, but I did not found out how to do it.
Tks in advance
EDIT: I have just changed topic name. I would like to know if anyone can send me default framework with reboot options.
Themes and apps section has is in I believe

Yes, I use the black htc theme with my mini pro and it has the reboot option.
I did not find the 2.1.a.0.6 default theme with reboot menu.
I could do it myself. I just need to be pointed in the right way
tks for your replies
i would also add speed tweak for sd card

Thanks! I've been looking for a thread like that! You could go about learning this by comparing the stock ROM framework_res.apk with the custom ROM's. I've been using apk_manager [link] for a while now, and it's actually quite easy to use. Learned a lot in the process also.
I have changed the topic to make this a Request:
Anyone has the framework needed to 2.1.1.A.0.6 with reboot menu?
Tks.

Oops. My bad. Thought you just wanted reboot and not reboot to xrec.
I might just add that I personally wouldn't really enjoy using a workaround.
What I mean by this is that it would be amazing if the menu opened by the power button would have more options like on custom ROMs, such as
Power Off
Reboot
Reboot to xRecovery
Anyone could do this please. Who usually makes themes to custon roms?

I am looking forward to root my mobile. But I am not sure which tutorial to follow as their are many.
Also I have few questions :
1. Will any feature wont work if I root my mobile?
2. Are their any harm in overclocking the mobile?
3. Do I need to follow any other tutorial to over clock it or by rooting it will be overclocked?
4. Will the layout be changed or can be chnaged than the default after rooting?

Also please link to a tut for rooting which is perfectly working and all features working coz I read somewhere that for Explorer WiFi was not working. Also please link to overclocking app tut that is really good.

Thanks
Custom rom has nothing to overclocking. U need custom kernel. As I see there is custom kernel in jaggyjags ROM <- and this is what let overlclocking. U can use any rom (even stock) but u need to flash custom kernel.
What's the difference between jaggyjags Rom and no frills which you mentioned for overclocking.
Also how do we install custom ROM after rooting our mobile. Please let me know in detail or link me to a tutorial as me doing it for the first time.
Thank you
Rom has nothing to oc, but kernel (which is with this rom i think) can let u overclock, but u cant change it without 3rd party app - eg. No frills (free) or setcpu (paid).
However in this rom u got overclock to 800mhz without using anything.

Thanks....So if I got you correct then for I to install jaggyjags Rom I need no frills?
Thanks a lot for answering my questions patiently.

No. No frills is only the example of program which let u overclock. U dont need to install it if u dont want to change oc more than it is.
If u dont need more than 800mhz (imcluded in rom - i dont know if it is possible to increase it on ur phone) u dont need to install any apps like no frills

Jaggysrom provides what you need to over-clock with something like No-Frills, No-Frills lets you actually over-clock it.

Be careful when you root, rooting is officially irreversible and can cause problems such as the sd card not being recognized.
Rooting has done so many small problems to my phone, if I had another android phone, I would take advantage of the warranty and not root.
I have followed tutorials for my phone, mostly involving a computer, I can declare that my phone is not an independent device anymore. Be aware of these risks. Without the warranty of android, a phone's lifetime can shorten.
Guys I have sgy but going to get the explorer.
To explain the oc process.
No frills is an app that when you open it, it gives you the choices to set the minimum and maximum speeds in all modes of your device. On sgy the settings would be 832 MHz max and 33? On the low end. With a 400 + setting and 600+ setting. Then a choice of governors which is what limits the performance. Like conservative or performance. You choose. Hope that helps. Btw could it be called an upgrade from sgy to htc explorer? But the real question is, is there a way to install cwm recovery without pc and rooting without pc. Please share links and zips for root unroot and cwm. Thank you.

Sorry for my newbies questions and my bad English
And if there's a solution for games issue that will solve every thing ..
I think you just have to flash the ftf file for gb firmware. This will take care of the kernel as well.

There is no such thing in ICS. It just removes the app from the Recent Apps list, it doesn't close it. App is closed when Android needs memory.

Ok, this is my face right now ->
I'm not on ICS, but I was definitely sure that pressing and holding Home button you would start a task manager. And I was sure that swiping an app would close it. And that's why I would have never done somthing like that, because I prefer to leave the task managing to the OS.
Can you confirm that's not a task manager?

I respect ur opinion .. But u r wrong
It is like task manager if i move the app to the left or right it will fc
Try it i am sure for example i open im+ and login then go to home screen then delete it from recent app in 1 sec(in gb i need to go to running app in setting to fc)
Then i run im+ again it was closed
But in gb the recent app is very stupid .. So i think the developers can change it to a task manager in gb ..
