you must install a stock rom first then install the 6.5 rom you want to go to.

The reason why nobody may have helped you is because you couldnt be bothered to help yourself.
There is plenty of information and guides on this if you take 2 minutes to look. All you need to do is boot into tricolor bootloader and flash stock windows mobile, tahts it. If you have been installing magldr/wp7 you should know how to do this.
You have purposely posted in the incorrect section, this is not for newbie support questions this is for posting ROM developments.

read the wiki to find out what that error means. No one here is going to be your personal tutor in finding these stuff out.
There are threads out there that talk about it but i'm guessing you didn't bother to search and decided to bypass all that.

ok I have reflashed my wizard 4 times tonight. I have tried the newest TNT rom, Hornet 5 and Touch HD. On flashing TNT and Hornet, it says that the updater is not new enough and leaves my wizard in the 3color bar state. I also have been unable to connect to my home wifi network through my wizard, through either the love rom, or the touch hd. anyone have suggestions?

but you have to read HOW TO UNLOCK, HOW TO FLASH and thats it, once you read you wll be able to unlock/flash
be sure to know if you have a G3 or G4 device, always have a fully charged battery to unlock, flash etc.
Better to use a xp based PC, use the lastest activesync, have a USB cable in good conditions, never ever touch the screen/cable in the unlock/flash, do not run another programs while unlock/flash.
Ok those are just some advices, all you migth need is in the forum..

Hi
You need to read the release posts. To say its unclear is BS, its very clear.
Most installs wont mess up Windows as they install to your SD card and are booted from within windows (unless you are using the nand version and then that overwrites windows.)
The best thing to do is to give it a go and see how it works for you.

It can be unclear if you're trying to take in too much at once. Start with the standard build and try it out for a few days. It's thread will say what is and isn't working in THAT BUILD. Usually within the first 1-3 posts. Once you're comfortable with that you can try some of the testing threads such as WisTilt2's test kernels posted by arrrghhh, or the "new more stable ril" by highlandsun. I recommend if you don't know what your doing or how to test to stay out of these areas for now. Feel free to play, but don't ask WHY something's broken or how to fix it, but instead state the issue you have on the forum. (That's why they're in TESTING and not part of the "stable" build yet.)
The first posts of the FRX06 thread and the FAQ are pretty clear about the status...

This is a guide to help people fix fastboot not being recognized with the new windows 8 consumer preview, which happened to me and i found the easy fix. After installing the preview,
1 connect htc evo 3d, let phone connect and install its own drivers, then under device manager, find htc-update drivers- download and install adb drivers http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?2tunwdxr3q2q8ec
2. Next go into sdk manager and install all updates that are current, make sure you dont let computer go into idle and if files arent downloading correctly, simply redo the update till everything updates properly, might take a few times because windows 8 isnt optimized yet for file transfer, who knows, etc

What the Hell. Dude my guides work. This one however is the one that should be removed. This guide is a joke obviously you have no idea what your doing. When you say in your guide to download all the packages are you aware what's that for ??? Its for full on development. You don't need any of that for fastboot or adb. Unless your planning on developing all that will do is occupy space on your hard drive and a lot of it. Also you could have just pointed the user to newer/latest sdk that will put the tools in platform. No need to download the old sdk just to update to the newer one with a whole lot of installs the average user will never need. Your guide should definitely be removed because its highly incorrect.

Yeah seriously, he tried to put up a guide to help people who couldn't get adb and fastboot to work. It obviously worked for him. If this is what happens when people try and help around here, then thats why we don't see more guides.

Err, yes I read, your guide has like 80 steps, and this guide only had a few and allows for future development... Nothing against yours but It's not the end all be all.

You could have done your research before posting a guide and you would have known this. As far as being helpful your choice to post "not searching for a similar guide that may or may not work" how was that helpful??? Are you not reading your post ??? When xda member "ssojyeti" posted a link to my thread asking you to read before you post you chose to reply with a non helpful comment towards my guide. When you could have posted something helpful or useful. If the more knowledge,guides,etc the better then why not post something postive about my guide?? Instead you chose not to henceforth my reply. Also your guide is incorrect and instead of doing your research to know what it is your posting you half do it, throw it up as a guide and say its to help the community. Why not just take your time read a little and post a guide were you know what it is your posting about that way when you posted your guide the community would have had the benefit of the time,effort, and research you put into it to provide the best guide you could. That would help the community more wouldn't you agree?? You post a guide on how to get fastboot working and the way your guide is telling the user has nothing really to do with fastboot at all. So you sir could have been more helpful by taking your time to do the research,posting postive feed back about fellow xda members guides, and reading before you post.

Nothing aginst your post but what's the point.??? Did ya ever read me post anything saying my guide was the end all be all ?? Read the guide in fact I say the complete opposite. My guide can be done in 20min and done correctly. If that's to long for you or if its to complicated for you by all means don't use it. Also when you say this guide has room for future development I really have no idea what it is your referring to.

i rooted my phone and went to delete some applications and accidentally deleted something important. Now this message comes saying:

i can still use the phone but this keeps popping up with a force close button.I cant even find the firmware for the doubleplay. I was reading about "flashing the rom to stock" but i cant find anything compatible with 2.3.4,
i already resetted it to factory settings with no help. i didnt back it up with nandroid.
can someone please give my some roms for the lg doubleplay and instructions on how to pleasEEE

I don't know about anyone else, but I stopped reading after this part. I didn't even get to the problem. Remember, you messed up your phone. You need others to assist you. Complaining that other people aren't helping you fix your mistake fast enough isn't going to encourage many people to want to try harder to help you.
Edit: I peaked at teh rest of your post. I think it's a fairly simple fix. But I'm not going to respond to your demanding post that is so overtly negative about this community that has helped so many.
If you reask the question nicely I'll be more than happy to try and assist you.

Well I didn't read your post as thoroughly as I should have before saying I thought I had the correct answer.
I missed where you said you were using an LG Doubleplay. This forum is for the HTC Sensation. These are VERY different devices. What would work for the Sensation may not work for an LG device. I don't want to give you bad information.
You are much better off asking your question in the Doubleplay forums where users familiar with the device will be able to assist you.

Firstly if you try to flash a wrong rom...you risk bricking...specially without backup.. find sensation roms by googling htcsensationroms
The rom you have mentioned is NOT a sensation rom
Dont open the rom you downloaded, connect the phone to ur pc and copy the rom to sd card
Also you need to speciify if you are S-On or S-Off.....
Provide more info abt ur situation (android version, recovery, S-On/Off) ...ill try to help
AND there are some really good devs on these fora...professionals(ask Skipjacks nicely, you should have your problem solved)....but you are going to have to ask NICELY....I'm preety much a noob but can handle rooting a etc
