thanks.. maybe after studying this we might get an idea (and possibly try out) wm6.5 flashing through magldr (i would check it out, but bogged down by school stuff currently)
I have done a little thinking, and i think i know how the wp7 thing actually works..
the spl and radio (and splash i think) are somewhat emulated (you notice this as when ur booting wp7 and hold down the bottom volume button itself, the spl/bootloader comes up which as i have noticed is not the normal 2.08 hardspl that we use on hd2..
and if you look into the radio version, it isnt actually the hd2 one.
if the above is actually true, then we could emulate hspl 3.03 + hd2 leo rom (leo S 3.14) with its stock radio and actually get the full ram that was missing
worth a shot, right?

Win7 on HD2 Installing MGDLR
hi,
sorry if i am asking this question in the wrong post, I have SPL 3.03 and is having difficulty insalling MGDLR, it just stops at 0%, i am using a gold card because i have an O2 locked HD2, the gold card worked with all previous ROMs I flashed, any suggestions.
Thanks in advance

Downgrade to a 2.08 SPL or less with an official rom, then flash the hard SPL 2.08 and radio 2.15. Otherwise you won't be able to flash MAGDLR 1.12.
Could we make a WP7 ROM with Chevronwp7 and all tweaks i cooked in?

Yes. I find same thing. LEO1000 is emulated and is in one of the partxx.bin(s). What about talking to it via a mtty - this simulated spl? And any move on the filesystem or device provisioning partition? Would be great to compare non-activated leo wp7 with ACTIVATED and get pv key or more to point put in a key to this dump and reflash with dwi so our self-signed-FFU/RRU key is on device and allows us to flash whatever we wish.
What was used to make this [DUMP] and is Cotulla's wp7-hd2 spl available as .nb etc or anyone worked this one out yet?
what's copyright and dcma (reverse engineering) technicality here lol?

More to point - can we compare the two different: pre-activated and activated?
Cotulla and DFT release was prior to (just) activation hack. Maybe once we have filesystem access and can read sd card main partition that is made on first boot we can see pv-key for device/live. But for kitchen etc it comes down more to more to .ffu (full flush update) and being able to put a key on device and self-sign a flash update that will stick and stay there so this is where I think energy should be put. If leo70 can be put on device then surely and key for an RUU can be put in with it. or even in that LEO1000 wp7 hd2 spl to allow ffu/ruu with whatever self-injected key. I think Da_G has already done partition and bldr work here.
Any thoughts? What was used to make this [DUMP] and is Cotulla's wp7-hd2 spl available as .nb etc or anyone worked this one out yet?
Eventually, of course: with this dump here people will be disassembling and prying it apart. so......... like everything on the net etc it will be cracked and hacked and re-made.
For the record: I have JTAG and trace and everything else so am prepared to take risk of 'bricking' (if that is even possible) and will take suggestions or requests if ppl have good ideas but can not or will not try for whatever reason: I have been working on leo70+magldr reverse engineering since just before public release: just pm me and I will do.

Hi all; I am new (here that is) but am fully capable coder.
Who is or want's to be or can help working on magldr compatible wp7 Kitchen and initial live-activated dwi rom?
1st goal here to make a kitchen then for hello_world just rebuild leo70 with live activated. Maybe get together here and setup proper dedicated irc. This may not be normal way to go about but I am not interested in social netiquette distractions. Just want to work on this and get it done. I have been using dumps (both my own and this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=915978 ) along with jtag, and everything at my disposal.
I am doing this now with progress already made and have been working on this since prior to leo70 public release.
if interested or have news or info please post here or pm me- thanks.

Anyone use trivial ftp for FUU? anyone called these DLLs or used/moded these keys?
also: per Da_G partition layout and comments for wp7 hard spl: for FFU/RUU: is it serial or usb/kitl/ethernet?
I think injecting a certificate into leo70 and rebuilding dump up will then allow an ffu to be flashed; debugging this then leads to a lot; hspl, kitchen, new roms.

Hi people
I am looking an official rom in english or spanish for x7510
is theres any way to change it alredy?
you can use ap4 but its not offical
Will that work? He might brick his device (X7510).
No way to use X7500 rom on x7510, the older has the MICRODRIVE and needs specific drivers
I thought AP4 was done with partition to accommodate the newer x7510.
I am still using AP4 and found device name shown was x7510, on x7500.

Agree, but the AP4 rom was modified by PAWEL to work in the X7500. Even a small HW modification (MicroDrive drivers) could give unexpected results.
Pawel is a great cook and his job is really impressive but AP4 was X7500 -X7501 only release

Sorry coolaptops for the bad advice. thanks mod for staying on top of things
To make sure that 7510 owners do not use any ROM on this forum, I think all posters of ROMS download should edit their old posts to prominently display warnings.
lol, of course to display warning, not earning.
Gooc icea, but warnings might be more useful
Since I run Linux systems at home I'm really interested in running it on my phones too. I kinda ordered my new phone since my TYTN is falling apart (does not synch thru USB anymore) so I can wait till late november for HTC to release their phone on Android.
So, do you think HTC will make an Android ROM for the Raphael? (or is there a big probability someone will cook it from another ROM)
I don't think they will do such a Android-ROM for Touch Pro as they will try to sell their new Android-Device. But since the Touch Pro has this Qualcomm-CPU, I hope Android will run on it - Again, made by some community-member, not HTC.
would somebody like to try booting linux on the raphael? I wonder if things will behave in the same way as on the diamond ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=402002 )
in that thread, marbalon posted http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=104265&d=1218018832 a package with latest haret and a build for the halibut machine from the google git.
also you can replace the zImage in the diamond.zip with the zImage builds for vogue from dzo: for example http://it029000.massey.ac.nz/vogue/zImage
or try the kaiser kernel http://linuxtogo.org/~lgorris/kaiser-bootkit/zImage.bin
and report what happens. does haret get further than go go go? Which machine does it detect?
thanks
can a moderator move this to raphael rom development please?
I tried the bootkit for Diamond, the latest builds for the kaiser from igorris and also the latest build for vogue - but all hang up.
i will investigate a bit....
do they hang at 100% / Go Go Go? Do you see console output?

Done... and good luck!
As i wrote last time, i didn´t get running the kernel for Kaiser (Latest Build) and Vogue (Latest Build).
Now it seems that the problem is or at least could be related to the storage card. It´s a common problem that sdhc-cards over 4gb won´t work as a android drive. so maybe anyone can try it with a card that fit the needs - i have only a 8gb model?
Good Luck and post every result!
I have tried vogue version on my raphael but it hangs on booting linux... 100% and i it hangs every time.
files are on phone not on sd card.

We need the G1 kernel source, and modules (if there would be some closed-source drivers). I have documented many (most?) MSM gpios,
the DRAM config is known too. I'm researching the Hitachi LCD setup
because G1 has a different panel, so it will be necessary to modify
the init/suspend routines.

Totally agree.
wm is the best mobile os at the moment unfortunately (if android is not counted), nokia's symbian just plainly.. eh, stinks. and so on.
Android would be really nice, waiting for it to raphael, even as a flashable rom! That would be so awesome! (we dont need WM to flash, it works straight from the bootloader, so why not!)

You hit my point of view!
Someone on the Diamond board managed to rip the new BellUI (PointUI home 2) rom and made it work on their Diamond. I tried to flash my Mogul but obviously didn't work.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=445026
Would any of you Titan gurus be able to make this work on the Titan? I have downloaded the BuildOS program to try and build my own kitchen based off of DCD for a rom. But it keeps freezing on me. So I wouldn't even know where to begin with this BellUI.
Someone has extracted the files/CABs required for the BellUI. But it requires you "cook a rom with oem package then install the CABs.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446210
How would I go about doing this for my Titan? I have BuildOS but don't know where to begin.

Radio Version - 1.71.09.01
Protocol Version - 25.75.40.02.eMoH
OS Version - CE 5.2.20765 (Build 20765.1.4.4) - tried 21014 and 21109 but these have bluetooth issues.
If anyone can post the link for any downloads that would be great.

In the past, we usually wait until some kind soul, namely jerpelea, has ported the ROMs over completely.
There is a new release, but it is not fully ported yet, and some work is required:

My test build looks promising, but it does swell the ROM significantly.

When you say some work - I assume you mean extracting the nb files and converting that to the SYS and OEM folders?
Sorry if it sounds like a dumb question, still very new to the ROM thing.
Am I also right in saying that the XIP (ROM) can only be a Niki one, but the SYS and OEM folders can be more generic (QVGA of course)? SYS is the actual WM6.1 OS and OEM is additional Apps or amy I way off on a tangent ?
thanks for all your help rling - you have been a of great assistance to a cooking noob

Okay have grabbed the XIP and SYS 21032 from the link you gave me rling - thanks.
I have worked through the tutorial - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=438676
The only thing that confuses me a little is the maps.txt files - I couldn't see any errors indicated by !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So am I safe to say that it should be a go for cooking? I have attached the final map.txt file.
I also noticed that the SYS dierectory doesn't have a .VM folder like the older ones I have used - did I miss a step somewhere?
Thanks

Generally yes. However, sometimes, if the XIP and SYS are mismatched, you could end up with some unexpected problems, eg bluetooth, camera, and other hardware failures.
Make sure you have the .rom and .vm folder correct in the SYS folder before cooking, or the ROM will hang at bootup.
rling
I can't find a .VM folder with the 21032 SYS I downloaded - have I missed something?
DT
If I remember, just use your original .VM and .ROM SYS folders if you want to port a SYS...
That was the bad thing with jerpelea : he did everything for us so we didn't have to use our brains anymore to cook .
For OEMs, you can use any QVGA package you find in the ROM you're trying to port, but keep the Nike OEMDriver folder if you want to be sure.
For the XIP porting, I never did it by myself since hexa adresses are not my cup of tea... Maybe someone will do this hard job for us...
Okay I used XipporterEX 1.2.R31 to automatically port the xip. Just a question, in the sys folder (under myTools in the Xipporter directory) there is now a .ROM and .VM and a dump folder. Is this the .VM folder I need and does the contents of the dump folder go into the ROM\XIP folder of the kitchen?
Hope all this makes sense
Thanks

Is this where the hex editing comes into play because I can't actually find how to create the .VM and .ROM folders and their files.
I guess my porting skills are poorly lacking
Can a porting GURU please port 21028 and 21032 to NIKI PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
Or can a Guru take me under their wing and teach me the black art of porting
Might have to ask either BlackDragon or jerpelea nicely. These are the only two that I know of that have released XIP/SYS ports for the Nike in the Kitchen thread.
Since jerpelea and Blackdragon have gone fo new devices, we should learn XIP porting by ourselves if we want to make our Nikes better in the future...
I'm going to try to port 21032 XIP with XIPAddrTool I think, that's the only tool I know about it...

I don't think so
When I try XipportEx, the ported XIP doesn't boot (maybe that's because of the fact he puts 3 of the XIP modules into an OEM package ?)
When I want to use XipAddrTool, I've got a problem with Xipport : he dumps the xip.bin, but I get an exception when I want to make XIP packages... Maybe I did something wrong with my Vista, in the past I managed to obtain it easily...
[edit] : I just think I may launch it using admin privilege that afternoon... ^^'
Okay I got the ROM 21028 (and phone) to boot.
I used XIPporter to create the os.nb.payload file - what I could never work out (and can't find the answer to) is what in the world goes into the XIP folder. I found someone had placed a link to download the ROM and SYS for the Topaz (ver 21028) so I downloaded it and used the XIP folder from it and it worked. So you could say I sort of cheated - so if anyone can enlighten me as to what goes in the XIP folder for a ROM and where the heck I get the files from it would be greatly appreciated.
As far as the SYS goes - I also used it successfully - well it booted okay. But the customisations never ran and you can't change the today theme, even though they are there, selecting them changes nothing. Can someone guide me as to what I need to look for to get this working? I never got to test too much else at this stage - needed my phone working okay for work tomorrow, so had to flash back to a know working ROM - hope to update soon.
How do you take a screen capture image of your phone's screen so I can show some pictures of the tests??

fantastic - I got mine booting, but the customisations never ran - so the install was only half done - couldn't change the timezone (kept resetting) and minor glitches
Can you upload your ROM? Maybe I can test it with my SYS.

Can FB and or FT also put their hands to this? FT's Rom for Vox is particularly and unbelievably stable.
I am going to attempt to dump a stock 6.1 rom into visual kitchen and then try and replace the 6.1 sys with 6.5, hopefully this will work I have not attempted anything this involved to date.
My plan will be to try and port the latest stable 6.5 build, including the 6.5 kernel, however in my brief search the only 6.1 base I can find is an old beta test version that has some known bugs but I am hoping that the newer 6.5 bits and pieces will fix these.
If anyone has a stable, bug free 6.1 base let me know.
Any other help would be welcomed, I will try and update my progress going forward if anyones interested, if not I will keep it to myself, lol
After some help now, I am in the position where I am able to dump a stock 6.0 rom, the plan is to then port the sys and xip from one of the 6.5 builds probably 23037.
The question is how do I know or specify which spl the rom with end up with?

I think that depends on the spl the rom had that you dumped....also, it can depend on the donor xip
Lucky catch

I am hoping that it is from the donor xip, as I am in the process of flashing my first ported 6.5 rom and dont really want it bricked on my first attempt.
Well after another few hours of work I have finally got a base kitchen to work from and have successfully ported a 23001 6.5rom to the x7500.
I will do some more refinements to it now, and then possibly look into a later sys and xip build.
If anyone wants to beta test, let me know, but I must stress that this is a learning process for me and therefore I cannot take any responsibility for bricks etc.
