For anyone looking for a mini wireless usb keyboard and mouse combo i`ve bought one for my g-tablet. Its a Rii mini keyboard, trackpad and laser combo.
When its plugged in with the dongle to my g-tab it brings up a little mouse cursor (i`m using the vegan-tab b3 ya i know i still need to update )
The website i ordered from says it has a 10m range.. but its more like 7-8m range.
Costs me about $40 with free shipping.
I can`t post links yet since i`m new here but you can get it on dealextreme dot com and the sku is 35354
Also cuz i can`t post links i can`t link to photos i`ve taken but if you want to see some just pm me and i`ll send you my flickr album.
Looking forward to getting my malata zpad dock so I can sit on my butt and use this keyboard to navigate with hdmi out
that looks sweet thanks for the info
Some of the reviews on the site mention poor build quality, is this accurate?
I bought one of these to use with my HTPC. The thing's not bombproof but it feels pretty solid overall for being 100% plastic. Keys are nicely backlit when you want them to be, charges via USB (and has a little Y USB cable so you only have to use one USB port for Charging/Dongle if you want), keys are nice and clicky. Overall I'm pretty happy with it.
do you have the android.apk that comes on the cd? its not on my cd and i cant get the keyboard to pair with my phone...
hmm i never had an android.apk. I just plugged the usb dongle into my g-tablet and it recognized it without problems.
As for poor build quality... i think its pretty solid especially for $40.. I mean the thing is super light and perhaps someone has thought of that being poor build quality?
I'm rather happy with it as well.
Doesn't your gtablet already have bluetooth? Why did you use a usb BT dongle then? i just got this today, and I cannot get it to work with my gtablet. I managed to find the android.apk on riitek's site, but it requires 'internet authentication' which, for some reason, simply will not work.
Are you sure that it's Bluetooth ?

its not BT it is wireless 2.5Ghz
yea its not bluetooth its just wireless 2.4GHz... i never had to goto rii's website or anything... i just plugged the usb dongle that came with the keyboard into the usb slot on my g-tablet and it picked it up right away... no software needed.
Will this work on TNTlite ver 4.2 ROm? Or just for Vegan?
I have not personally tested it on those roms but if they have usb keyboard/mouse support i don't see why it wouldn't.
Lenovo Keyboard works as well....
I have a G-tab with stock OS and the TnT Enchancement pack. I tried the little wireless Lenovo Keyboard/Trackball that I use on my HTPC and the keyboard part works fine. The mouse does not work, but I did not do any t-shooting so it may just be a config issue.
For those looking for a small keyboard, I can say the Lenovo works well and is very comfortable to hold. I am actually going to look for a bigger keyboard for my G-Tab, so I really just plugged it in to see if it works.

Asus has a whole host of accessories on tap for the hot Transformer tablet/netbook. The keyboard dock was just the beginning. There’s a desktop dock, HDMI-VGA adapter, a very iPad-ish looking folio case, and an adapter to plug in a USB flash drive. Asus has yet to make these official so no word on pricing or availability. They appeared on Asus’ Italian Facebook page about four hours ago. The only thing missing now are the actual Transformers. They’re sold out everywhere and backordered out to nearly irrelevance. Well, there’s always the Xoom. There are plenty of those available along with their entire range of accessories.

the only thing missing now is the tablet itself
Well the keyboard is missing too...
I was lucky enough to get a tablet, but still have no idea when the thing will actually be a "Transformer".
Interesting to see what's in store for us. Thanks for linking.
Hopefully these take off more than the viewsonic g-tablet official accessories that never came to fruition.
really nice to see these accessories for those who don't buy the keyboard. especially the dock and case. Actually bought the sleeve case myself considering god knows when i'll get the keyboard.
I like the USB adapter!!
I kind of wish they would sell extra data/charging cables
Here is also a better article with more info a pictures (Italian)

I would like another power cord. This this appears to be proprietary and if it gets lost, there's no charging the damn thing. I don't care if it's only 2 foot long, I'd like another cable.
Looks like Asus is gonna make a bundle off me. Hope there will be accessories from 3rd party soon.
Hmm!
One of each I think! Except maybe not the SD card reader.
But given that the price of the simplest one is quite high I guess theyre going to be a bit pricey!

I agree, this has been way over-looked, If I damage or loose my existing cable I'm stuffed, don't want to be in that situation.
Hopefully some 3rd party will start pumping them out on eBay or the likes soon.

So when you dock the tablet, you don't need to fiddle wit find the mini hdmi cable just to get a full desktop replacement.
I'm actually very excited to get the SD adapter (wish this was on the tablet instead of the miniSD). I'd like to do some quick photo editing right after shooting.
i wonder if the USB port will work with game controllers and other USB stuff like 3.1 will allow.
Im interested in the USB dongle.
Would this mean that we can have external storage like a HD preloaded with media?
If so, it would be perfect for road trips to load movies on a drive and have the munchkins entertained..
On that note: anything out there that allows the tablet to hang/attach to the headrest on a car seat?

Duct tape....
Given the WIFI/BT compatibility problems, my bluetooth mouse has issues, most prominently when connecting to a remote desktop session, I guess due to the higher BW requirements. Unfortunately this is when it's most useful.
Anyway, does anyone know a good USB alternative?
What I'd ideally be looking for is:
1)Small dongle that can stay on the USB port of the keyboard,
2)Given #1, have an actual on/off switch on the mouse
3)Small form factor that travels well
4)Scroll wheel is a must
5)Nice to have would be side back/forward buttons
Does such a thing exist that works with the ATP? Basically I'm looking for a nice replacement that is functionally transparent to what I have now to make up for the limitations of the prime...
Let me know!
I bought the ihome micro wireless mouse a while back and its got almost all of your requirements except the forward/back buttons. It matches the aesthetic of the prime in scale and form factor, has that on off switch you need, a tiny usb dongle, and just one AAA battery. It also has a fine dpi setting but I don't believe the TFP has the firmware to accommodate such a setting.

Thanks! I'll check it out! The side buttons aren't a requirement, mainly the leave in dongle and on off.
So what does it mean to not support the fine dpi setting?

There are a few different iHome Mice. The spec listings for any I've seen aren't specific enough to list the on/off button, which is a requirement if I'm going to leave the dongle on the prime (the old mouse I have w/ a huge dongle only turns off by mounting the dongle into the base of the mouse)
You wouldn't happen to have the model number? The link above is model model # - IH-M182ZB

This is the best USB wireless mouse available on the market. I've tried about 15-20 mice in the past couple of years and this one by far is the best. The quality is top notch and design is perfect. ALL DAY use and my hand doesn't ache at all.

Hi guys, I was wondering...which bluetooth keyboards work well with the Prime.
What would you recommend???
If you need a keyboard for the Prime, I would recommend the Asus Keyboard dock made specifically for use with the Prime. Not only is it a decent small keyboard, but the extra battery life, Prime specific function keys and full sized USB port make it more useful than any standalone keyboard.
If you don't want the Asus keyboard dock, in order to help you find a keyboard that meets your needs it would be helpful to know what your specific needs are.
Do you want something ultra portable?
Do you want a full-sized keyboard?
Do you need a track pad?
Etc.
I wouldn't want to buy the keyboard dock, I think it's way overpriced ( 130 euros is the cheapest I've found in the eu ) and you can't use it in portrait mode, right?
As far as portability is concerned, I'd definitely need sth quite portable but not really tiny, you know..
So, NO trackpad and a blend between portability and comfort while typing

As whacko suggested, the keyboard dock has so many benefits, that, while it's more expensive, I'd still recommend it.
The ability to add battery life, fold closed and use as a quasi-net book, keys specific to the Android OS make it a natural choice!
The other choice, if you're set on not getting a dock (they've come down in price, here in the U.S.) might be the Celluon Magic Cube. It's remarkably portable, allowing you to simply carry a small box with you, then projects the images of a keyboard on the table your TP is on.

I personally use a Logitech K750 keyboard. Solar powered, so you don't ever need to worry about batteries going dead, and it has very nice keyboard feedback (something, obviously, the Magic Cube lacks!), and is also much less then the first two options.
However, while thin and light, it IS rather long, so not the most practical to carry around and transport.
Sorry... these are the best options I know of.
Thanks for the info man! I do have the K750, it's a great keyboard, but I'd prefer sth smaller
That magic cube sounds interesting, I think I'll check it out
Hey,
This may not be the best place to post this but seemed kinda relevant.
I recently saw the Iogear multi-link bluetooth keyboard which I thought looked pretty cool. (Can't post the link yet...spam filters)
At home I have a tablet stand next to my computer monitor, and I've been playing around with extending my desktop onto my Prime and stuff like that, but I'd also like to use them separately.
I loved the idea of having a bluetooth keyboard I could use for both, not that it needs to be portable, but so I can sit on my bed and use it etc. and also, having one that could be used for both seems awesome.
The thing is, I would like it to replace my current keyboard for my PC, and I'd go mad without a numpad, and the mouse tracker just looks nasty. Does anybody know of a bluetooth keyboard/mouse setup which can be linked to multiple devices (including the transformer prime) and switched between with relative ease?
I bought a Microsoft 6000 bluetooth portable mini keyboard that's notebook size. It's a tad wider than the prime. The nice thing about it, stores like Staples and Office Depot probably carry them. So you can actually go into the store and hold them, look them over, etc. It also comes with a bluetooth number pad in a little carrying case and it's separate, so you can leave it packed away if you don't need to use it.
I bought this keyboard for my stepdad for a different tablet, and it was about a year ago I think. Now I'm sure there's a newer model number, I'll have to do a search in just a bit. Back when I bought it, there was a Microsoft 6000 Notebook Wireless Keyboard (bluetooth) and a 6000 Desktop USB keyboard, so if you google it and see different results or specs it's because it's not the portable laptop size version.
I know where the keyboard is, today sometime I will test out how it's working with the prime for you. I bet you could order the same model really cheap on ebay but since it's a good bit older, we need to check and make sure it works well.

$1 price is for the "microUSB data cable" only... read your purchase and know what you are buying !!
most MHL adapter will work... and don't forget... it need an external power source .... the device/phone alone won't have enough juice !
this was even in print of the page/link you'd given above:
* The MHL Adapter will not work without a power source.
On the first time of using, The MHL Adapter Must be connected to your device and restart, otherwise there will be no HDMI signal output.

Ended up getting this one. ~$5 and has USB charging port. Plus I just received my 5200mAh battery so if this works without power it'll be great!
Let us know if this work with the Note. I have tried many MHL adapter and it doesn't work.
I stole one from my brother that works on my Note. It came with his Samsung Infuse.
That black clipping doesn't show on my 32 inch Vizio or my 60 inch Mitsu TV

Monoprice has an MHL adapter for just over $10 (item #8675). While this isn't as cheap as some of the ones on Ebay, the sense of security is worth the price. Plus, it's cheaper than buying an "official" one. I've been using this on my Note for a while now with no issues. It does not work with my wife's S3, though. It appears that they will carry an MHL adapter for the S3 soon, however.
OK...got the adapter today!
For reference I got this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/180895011500?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
Works but has a few flaws which I don't know are related to the adapter, phone, or my TV in my room (Sony KD-34XBR960).
Only issues is that if the phone is at max volume the audio has a lot of static and distortion. Dropping the volume to about 50-75% fixes this completely though. Also considering the phone is 16:10 and my TV is 16:9 the image is a bit cut off on the top and bottom (still fullscreen and everything works, movies look great irregardless). The adapter also doesn't seem to charge the phone either when using HDMI as my percentage was falling. I'm guessing the power plug needed is for the HDMI output.
Oh and phone calls don't work at all...thought it would be cool to do speaker calling through my TV but that was a no go.
So from my experience it only works with videos, surfing the web, etc...no phone calls.
Other than those issues, which I don't know are typical or not, the adapter works excellently! No complaints for $5 and some change shipped other than the long ass wait (22 days from China...whatever).
I'm happy and definitely recommend it! Despite the issues I have I'm still completely satisfied.
I just got the Rosewill BK-700 Bluetooth keyboard with built-in Touch Pad to use...

I bought a Samsung capacitive stylus (from this site fonejoy.com/genuine-samsung-t365-galaxy-tab-active-stylus-pen-gh98-34603a.html ) with the intention of using it on the Galaxy View. However, it doesn't work on Galaxy View. It's mind boggling because this stylus comes with the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active and is supposedly an ordinary capacitive stylus (source: sammobile.com/2014/09/25/samsung-galaxy-tab-active-hands-on ) . Does a capacitive stylus work on the Galaxy View???
