Hey all,Im incredibly frustrated with this.
Ive spent over 18hours researching info for running apps2sd.
I couldn't find the help I need so......
I'm running Emience's 2.1 Rom,I used Z4root to root my phone. I have superuser, busy box,and Xrecovery v2 installed.
I used Mini tool Partition to partition my Sd card, and followed the great xda tutorial.
I used Titanium/Astro and backed up all the Apps to the SD.
What is my next step, how do I run them off the SD, or am i missing something ?
Bare with me im a newb to rooting and such.

Step 4 : Installing App2sd.
Create a folder name adb in your pc and extract all the files from adb.zip into this folder.
Connect your phone to your pc and mount the sd card. Extract all the file from app2sd2.1.zip to the root of your sd card. Make sure to unmount the sd card before continue the next step.
In your pc open up a dos terminal box by typing cmd in the Search programs and files box.
Type
cd /adb
....For some reason my computer wont find it,it says "tye system can not find the path specified"
Put a screenshot. I can only help you tomorrow. Go to bed now...sorry.

Hello all, I'm pretty new to all of this. I only recently rooted/flashed a ROM for the first time, and I'm just kind of learning as I go. I really want to flash Eugene's Hybrid r3 ROM now that the mms issue is fixed, but I don't know how to apply the lag fix. What I'm really asking is if anyone has any instrustions or a link to information for a true beginner on how to access adb shell and apply the fix. I've got an entire evening of free time on my hands, and I decided it'd be a good day to learn this =]
Google droid explorer on your comp... It will set up adb for you... An easy guide can be found by googling "adb for dummies"
This entrails a lot of reading but the rewards are tremendous.. Good luck
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
alright, I'll get to it! thanks!
first startes you will need the drivers here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=728929
and the android SDK here:
http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
PM me if you need help
Try YouTube & Google theso are two places I learned mostly everything. That's my recommendation... If u don't find the answer here.
You could also do it via a terminal app on your phone... I would kind of suck using the touchscreen to input the data but its do able.
if you want to try it via terminal do this.
- DL "terminal emulator" from market

- open app and grant SU access
- input the lagfix info but leave out the first line "adb shell" of each step and start with "su"
One thing to note about droid explorer. Its a great tool and will setup adb for you, just make sure you have busybox installed on your phone. To ensure you have the latest busybox DL the "busybox" app from the market
Alright, thanks Sykes! I'll give it a shot!
I just wanted to say thanks again to you all. Sykes, I used the terminal app you described and it worked great! It took me a couple of tries, mainly because I'm very very new to all of the command prompt stuff, and hacking in general. But now the Hybrid R3 is running extremely fast and smooth. My past few benchmarks on quadrant have all been 2100+!!
Hello everyone,
I bought a Motorola Atrix 4G about a week ago and I need help on this matter:
I needed RTL support for my atrix so as a result I found that I'll have to root my device and go on for that matter and now I really need to return the device to AT&T before my 30 days to return the phone end.
Here's what I did step by step and that could probably help whoever needs to install one of these languages that run RTL and make them render correctly in everything except emails and browser which can be changed to firefox or mini opera to do the trick.
1- I installed phone drivers on my computer
motorola(dot)com/staticfiles/Support/Experiences/Global_Drivers/USB_Drivers_bit_4.8.0.exe
2-downloaded aRoot
Then connected my phone to the computer in USB debugging mode
ponack(dot)net/designgears/atrix/aRoot/
3- extracted the aRoot.7z and ran aRoot.bat waited until the device rebooted.
4-downloaded Adeo ROM from here
www(dot)ponack(dot)net/designgears/atrix/Adeo
and downloaded the update as well.
Then extracted the AdeoInstallerv0.1.7z ran INSTALL.bat
5-the device rebooted and it took about 5 mins
Then extracted AdeoUpdaterv0.2.7z and ran UPDATE.bat
6-Downloaded root explorer from here
www(dot)mediafire(dot)com/?g59n18vfmadm0lm
6- downloaded the framework.jar and font from here:
www(dot)fileserve(dot)com/file/Jx4wtHf
7- extracted the file and moved DroidSansArabic.ttf to the path /system/fonts/ to the path /system/fonts/ and gave it the permission USER (R/W) GROUP (R) OTHERS (R).
8- moved framework.jar and replaced the original one with it in the path /system/framework/ and gave it the same permissions as above.
9- restarted the device and it is running until i received the update from at&t and it downloads and when installing it fails and give the android guy with exclamation triangle. so I waited and pressed the power button so i got the options so i wiped the device and it still fails the update.
I need your help please to reverse this and restore my device to original and as i received it from at&t so I can return it to them.
Note: I haven't backed up the device as i thought i won't need to as it is my first android phone.
your help is appreciated.
Thank y'all for reading my post.
this should get you on your way: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991072
I have seen this my friend but I'm not sure as I did wipe all data and i heard it is totally a different process if i did. as well i did a factory data reset from the settings which erased all dtat on the phone. if it is the same process even if i did that please let me know and thanks for replying.
i followed the process in the link that i pointed you to, then did a factory data reset and i think i unmounted my Internal phone storage, then formatted it and the same for my SD card.
i think that's about as wiped as you can get. someone correct me if i'm wrong...
OK. That's good.
So I'm confused now what should i download the 1.2.6 or 1.5.2 or both?
how do i know which one i need to do this?
Thank you.
I just flashed my device thank you for pointing me to the right direction buddy.
I found the version in the settings in about the phonw or all about the last thing is the number for who ever was wondering as me

I've read a few random Galaxy related topics on the SD card not mounting, but Im worried about using methods from other devices on this device.
In Rom manager premium, Flash ClockworkMod recovery was used, selected Vibrant, it said no official recovery, and asked if I had installed version 2 or 3 of CWM. I selected 2 and it said its using CWM with Rom Manager.
Well now anytime I reboot into recovery, or try to flash a rom from Rom Manager Premium it cannot mount the SD card.
I go into mounts and storage and try and mount the SD, nothing.
Is this something as simple as re-partitioning the SD? Or has something corrupted in my recovery?
BTW, XDA, you guys ROCK!! I dont post usually, cause I dont need to! Except this time
The guides and walk through here are so easy I usually never have troubles. Rooted and rom MANY different android models for work here All thanks to XDA!

were you able to solve this?
You need three things besides your phone:
You lost data/wifi when flashing a CM UPDATE, this is your fault for not reading the threads, The FIX IS BELOW, in simple, plain english, easy to understand. DON'T MAKE ME DRAW PICTURES
1) Android SDK
https://developer.an.../sdk/index.html
Download it and install it. I'll only describe it for Windows OS.
2) The correct ROM
https://download.cya.../?device=enrc2b
or from my CM-12.1/AOSP threads
Download it and open it with WinRAR or Winzip or just unpack the whole thing. Directly in the root folder you'll see a file called boot.img
3) USB Cable connection between the phone and your PC
Connect the device to your PC. On your phone go to settings and enable USB debugging.
Now you are ready to flash the boot image.
a) copy the boot.img to the same folder as fastboot
if you downloaded the package from above, you'll see a folder structure that is a bit overwhelming. Navigate to
C:\adt-bundle-windows-x86-20140702\sdk\platform-tools
and copy the file called boot.img from the ROM there.
B) open up the terminal
click on start and enter cmd.exe
enter the folder with
cd /
cd C:\adt-bundle-windows-x86-20140702\sdk\platform-tools
c) start the flashing
Now type:
adb reboot bootloader
or alternatively, restart your phone manually and press the buttons Power and Volume down until you see a white menu screen.
Now type:
fastboot devices
and you should see your phone
d) flash the boot.img
type:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
That's it, 3G and WiFi should work now. A more extensive How-To can be found here:

Taken from my thread of the same title from the CM forums

Hey,@ Lloir
Ive tried this for my stock ROM that ive reverted to after having cyanogenmod 11, but it didnt work, I used the same boot.img from the firmware.zip. it did work successfully when reverting to cyanogen after it didn't work though.
What have I missed?
Any help would be appreciated.
Hello all,
I've been flashing rooms on the phone for quite a while now, but last weekend i flashed a new CM14.1 ROM onto the phone with the new GAPPS with it. Before doing this i ofcourse wiped the needed partitions in order for them to work right. However, since i've done this and flashed the new software, the phone doenst have access to the internal storage while being booted into the system (OS)..
When i boot into TWRP, i have full access to the internal storage and i'm able to create new folders and copy/cut/paste files onto it. Down here, you see i've created a new folder using the PC while its booted in TWRP.

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
When i try to do this while its booted in CM14.1 (android 7.1.1, but i think any ROM i'd flash) this happens:
To translate this from Dutch to English: "The new folder couldn't be created on this location. The device isn't responding anymore or the connection has been lost".
When i browse to the internal storage through the OS itself, it does show up. However, i dont have any access to create new folders or files or to change them:
Also when i try to take a picutre using the camera, it says this:
Even when i enable developer options and giving root to both apps and adb, it still doesnt have the required access to perform these actions:
Also going to the gallery, it says that there is no storage available:
I also looked up some info about the partition, which might be useful for those who have some knowledge about this.. This is what i found using the app "Diskinfo":
And i also used the commands ls -l to show the permissions of the /data/media/(and)0/ to see what rights are giving out:
As you see here, the app itself didnt have access to go to the storage location untill i gave it "su" rights. Does this mean the entire OS doesnt have access to this location because it simply doesnt have the right permissions for it?
If anyone has any suggestions or wants to help me figure out what is wrong, please feel free to reply here or through a PM. It would be highly appreciated.
///Edit
After searching around on the web i came across a post where someone said that running the TWRP advanced option "Fix Context" would reset all permissions that you normally dont do yourself. So i've ran that, it ran for like 0.5 second before being finished. After rebooting the phone into the system (OS/Android) all problems were solved and permissions were set right.
Therefore my problem is resolved now, and this topic could be closed ^^
