Please help me, I'm unable to connect my X10i to computer any more. It was fine last week but now whenever I plug in the USB, it only charge the phone and there was no mount/connect option poped up on the phone either. Anyone now the solution, I appreciate your help. Thanks
never seen that, hmmm try another port or flash again
it's just weird cause it is detecting it unless there's a way to set it as a diff option instead of mass storage
Well, I tried to flash it but the phone just couldnt connect to my computer or any other computer. Just kinda strange...

Use bluetooth or wireless until you figure it out. Also you could put it on your external sd and transfer it.
I cant even connect the external sd card, i dont know whats wrong
Something like this happened to me. Try turning debugging off

Hi all,
I have a really weird problem im hoping someone can help me with.
I cant seem to get my S2 detected in windows when connected via USB. It charges no problems but I cannot see the storage on the phone.
However the phone is deteced in download mode OK so I can use odin to flash firmware if needed. I have tried gonig back to stock image but still makes no difference. Done all the driver installs / uninstalls, reboot of PC and phone etc, but nothing seems to make a difference, I just can see the storage under windows.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Go 2 Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Device Manager, then plug in a cable and watch for changes to the hardware list. If your phone appears in the list, then all should be ok.
do you mean when the phone is in normal mode or download mode? I cant see the phone listed in device manager when in normal mode.
When i try to put the phone in mass storage mode via the USB utilities in the setting, I get the prompt to connect a USB cable, however, when i do connect it, the pop up fails to disappear and the PC doesnt detect

Probably it's a Windows fault. Try on another computer, but if the problem persists, then it's a phone issue.
yeap, tried it on more than one machine. One one machine it would detect in normal or download mode, but on another machine it detects in download mode but not normal mode. i dont understand how it can transfer data while in download mode as it must detect some sort of storage???

Try turning off 'Usb Debugging' if ticked.
tried that too. when selecting USB mass storage, it prompts that usb debugging will be switched off
Reinstall Windows. This is the best solution.
Hello everyone!
Sometimes when I connect my S3 to my computer, some files do not appear when I try to access them from the PC. Until today, rebooting the phone solved the issue but now I am having a hard time to get some data from the phone... Has anyone had the same problem?
Thank you!
Anyone?
I've seen some similar threads in the forum but none of them give me a good solution, still having the same problem...
Backup data possible faulty sd card or phone storage .
Check Lost Dir for files .

Still not working. Even having rebooted the phone several times and tried several different usb slots...
When entering recovery mode, what should be mounted and what should not?
Same issues here, switching the usb to camera and back to mtp usually helps

Thanks for the idea, but still nothing... It is unbelievable how a simple thing like this can become such a pain...
Sometimes I get the "Hardware ID could not be found" message and the only way I've found to reliably get the PC to recognise the S3 is to reboot the PC!
Changing USB ports, unplugging and replugging the phone or rebooting the phone doesn't work!
fortunately my PC boots almost as quick as the phone and I don't need to connect it that often.
Well this is my first post so would just like to say hi first and hope im posting in the right place, so here is my problem im trying to upgrade the rom on a phone, but the problem is the connectivity of the usb to my computer, every time i connect the phone and in downloading mode (samsung gt-i5500) windows shows a msg usb device not recognized, and the drop down menu is not showing for kies or SD mass storage, so iv uninstalled drivers and reinstalled, tried doing a hard reset on the phone, changed the usb lead, changed the sd card used the same type of phone and the computer found that all right, had usb debugging turned off and on, then when i turn on usb tethering on the same msg pops up usb device not recognized so im stumped its like the phone itself has forgot how to talk to the computer iv tried looking through the the engineer menu but i int got a clue what im looking at so any help would be grate thanks

Hello guys!
I have come to you all with an issue that I have been frustratingly trying to solve for like 3 hours now. The problem is I try to connect my phone to the PC and it only charges, I don't get any options to select this or that, just charges.
Yes I have USB Debugging on.
I am trying to unlock my bootloader, but the PC won't recognize the phone at all, doesn't show up in the device manager either. Doesn't give me a "bloop" sounds when I connect it to the PC either.
I am in desperate need of help!
Thank you all in advanced! :highfive:
