I just rooted my other vibrant like I always do (using the .zip from the sticky) and I have superuser permissions but it keeps force closing. Tried using terminal but I'm denied superuser rights due to the force close. Tried rebooting. Tried to redo the update.zip. Searched online but haven't seen this issue anywhere. Stock everything by the way. Please help!

I can't seem to UN root my phone. In the app it DOES say your device is UNrooted but then apps like root explorer and setCPU still function. So I re rooted ( it didn't really UN root so tech. I really didn't re root) jus to see super user app and nothing shows up in the app permissions. WTF is going on. Also when I install root applications super user does not even pop up asking for permissions. I recently installed busy box so I can get titanium to work..titanium hangs on the loading screen but this only started to happen after I tried UN rooting.
I used this app to root my phone so it should UN root it.
I guess its okay but will this prevent me from updating to froyo when the update is launched.
devs please reply.

Pleaz help!!
I rooted my fascinate with z4root. Then, I unrooted. Then, I noticed that my superuser was still there. I tried to delete it but couldn't. Then, I heard that u can delete it by rooting, so I tried to root it again. But for some reason, z4 keeps saying, you already have the such binary. Unable to root. I then tried to root using other programs on my computer with one click root program. That kept saying, unable to root device. Please help me delete the su or reroot my phone.
A few simple commands with an app called terminal emulator, free in market. Search YouTube for "fascinate remove root" for the commands

You can also set to stock using Odin. There is also a way to delete the root files using root explorer if you still have root access but I'm guessing not as that happened to be after the last update.

I am running the above stated rom and I was wondering if anyone has found out how to get titanium backup to get root permissions I installed Tom manager and various other root required apps but Titanium backup seems to be the only one that force close SU...

I had an issue with root explorer SU with kaosinate. I had to change the orientation to landscape to get the SU to not force close. But this doesn't work with Apps that don't go into the landscape like wifi tether. Another thing mentioned in the forums is to make sure usb debugging is on.

If you want CyanogenMod 7 on your phone then flash this version: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1045493 It doesn't have the bugs that kaoscinate 7 has. No force close issues.
Problem started when I tired running TiBu and superuser access was denied, pressed "problems" button, but that really offered not help...I have no idea why TiBu is being denied su access; busybox is installed and other apps requiring root are running just fine. I tried reinstalling busybox and su is denied as well. Opened su app and neither TiBu or busybox are on the list of apps...
I also did the normal uninstall and reinstall of TiBu...no luck
Any help would be much appreciated. I have checked forums and all that jazz and it's just not working.
Just to be sure do you get S-OFF at the top of your bootloader screen?

Try clearing data for super user app. I had this happen once and that cleared it up for me.

Same thing happened yesterday to me. Just uninstall the offending apps and reinstall. That's what worked for me.
I as well saw this recently with tibu. My solution, since a quick reinstall didn't work for some reason, was to clear the data for tibu. Next time I opened it root permissions were properly requsted.
How do you uninstall Su...it doesn't show up on the list of downloaded apps in settings/apps, also can't delete it when on the market or with the uninstall app...maybe with root explorer?
Truly appreciate all the help but I've tried all of the above multiple times with the exception of uninstalling Su and no luck...now it seems any new app that requires permission is not granted--tried downloading my back up root and access was denied still looking for a solution....Thanks

Hello. I have rooted my Galaxy SII v 2.3.6 on Gingerbread build EL29 from sprint using the SPH-D710.EL29_CL852097_ROOTED_NODATA-OneClick method from odin found in this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1433101 . My super user app was working fine until I accidentally moved it using a file explorer. The super user apk is in my systems/app folder but I can no longer access the program and none of my super user apps work. When I have tried to reroot the phone the oneclick method completes and says things went as planned, but no apk and no root access is available. Can someone please help me restore my root access. Thanks in advance, and apologies if I am in the wrong forum.
Try downloading superuser from the Play Store. Delete the superuser you already have beforehand though.

install from play store did not work
Thank you for the suggestion. Two issues, when I go to the store it says the app is already installed. Also when I try to delete the existing version, I get a permissions denied message. I am still stuck here.

Try to reroot by flashing a rooted kernel, rather than SOC.

Make sure when trying to delete, mount on root explorer should be r/w not r/o
Fixed it
Thanks very much. I used the [e4gtauto-sfx.exe] from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342728 to unroot and clean up any unneeded files from the phone then I went back to the odin root and now I have restored root access. Thanks again.
