animated wallpaper => battery killer - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

dudes !! I have tested for a week some animated wallpapers on x10 mini with 2.1, and have gone back to static wallpapers. reason is this thing is killing my battery even if the phone is in sleep mode. did you guys notice this ? when I have an animated wallpaper, I get less than a day of use. without animated wallpaper, about 2 days.

That's bloody obvious

it is a nice one!

off course it is, even on the regular phone it kills your batt

yup, thats the reason why i dont use it. if you need a animated wallpaper, get a sony ericsson arc or something. that has a long battery life. then run the wallpaper on that.
our se x10 mini pros are bad because of the battery life. sorry to say, but that is the fact.

I agree, battery life on these mini pros really suck.

Yeah... I got this phone from my girlfriend, and the battery life really sucks. you must have a minimum of applications/processes running to extend the battery life.

Same problem but miniCM7 pro improve battery life...

True Story.

The only animated wallpaper ive seen which does not consume battery and looks awesome is Solar Winds animated wallpaper. DO NOT GET IT FROM MARKET, ITS BROKEN NOW. Look somewhere for version 1.1 and use that one, do not update it!

That's s good one and the dev is really on updates. Like every day.
Don't blame me, blame my keyboard's autocorrection algorithm.
Nice stuff but I can't for the life of me understand why someone would use a live wallpaper. Waste of battery on a device that isn't kind to batteries to begin with.

I've never noticed much of any extra drainage. I typically do not use them, but... when I do, my phone is much sexier.

This is an exaggeration that's been thrown around since the feature was introduced. They really do not drain an excessive amount of battery, especially if they are well made. I've gone with and without them and haven't noticed a change in battery.

It comes down to what lwp you use.if you use the nexus wallpaper which constantly moves even in background, then your going to kill your battery, but if you use well developed ones it doesn't take THAT much.
^ Even that still sounds like an exaggeration... are you guys even looking at the battery % used, or just assuming it uses a lot of battery?
This seems like a myth. Granted I've used badly coded papers that drain as well as effect system performance. But you can tell that in two seconds. I have run both and see no major difference.

anker 3500mah battery Review impressive

Hello,
Few days before i got an anker 3500mah battery. I found it very impressive. just to see where it stands i just run antutu benchmark. it was started from 100% full charge to 15%.
it was running all the night.
just to check the accuracy, i tried it for another night. result was almost same.
It was quite good. cpu usage 100%, brightness full, wifi on, bluetooth on.
and I got 765 score. which was on second place after motorola zoom.
just see image.

Its just a brand new battery, hrd that after some recharge cycle it will enhance more.
may be after switching off wifi and bluetooth,we can get better score.
I need backup, as i travel a lot. This one, i found to be nice, good cheap replacement. although it makes phone bit bulky, but doesnt matter. back cover is good enough.
Ok..how about some real results like what the stock battery stats says? The graph will look like this

I got this from ebay in 19$, sure I will just try to get that stat. Till yet I have not tested it thoroughly, as my number is not yet ported. But in a day it will, I will full charge it, use it as heavily and let you know an legit review, worth a buying or not.

does this battery lose its power after some time?
does this battery work as a real 3500mah battery?
Would you mind getting Battery Monitor Widget (free) and running a Calibration and report your result? the method/instruction are posted in this thread

thats a no? but im going to ask sony anyways it is kinda funny that the burn in is not really staying long. When not using my phone (switched off) for a day my burn in is almost gone. But when i use it 1 hour or so i see the time, battery and icons burn in
As for me. I am not saying that I'm right, but this is my opinion regarding on this matter. I work in a TFT-LCD company in taiwan for 3yrs and I assigned in burn-in processes which is you will keep the LCD panel to the machine with a temp of 50-60 degrees celsius. on this kinda heat all the LCD even the 32"-40" or bigger will notice a burn Cristal Liquid. as what we are discussing for.
but it will gone in a min. if the panel will become cold. I ask this before to the Higher class that this is because of the metal plate that produce to much heat.
because when a metal put to a 30deg. it is shurely get 5% more degrees. i don't know exactly the explanation but this is what they told me.
So, This phone we have has a CPU on the top near to the camera. and it coming heat, when using in games or heavy use. and the LCD has a metal plate on side to protect it. when heat process it flow on that metal and you will see that result.
In my work before, I also notice that more than 24HR of burning process in LCD will affect that Burn Cristal liquid. and you will see that it will not remove for long life...
hope you understand it. or disregard it if you are not interested.
Why don't you search before posting?

[q] news on battery

I do plan on getting this phone, but i really want to know how long the battery last on HSDPA/HSPA since i don't have LTE in my country(am getting the international version). I do know battery consumption on HSPA is not as much as LTE networks but the question is "is it still good enough for a day without carrying a charger" I am a student nurse and i do stay in school for a long time. I use my phone to check up things on the internet(So annoying to carry a laptop around ..) and watch a lot of videos too(to understand better practicals done in the lab). has any one any good reports.....Screen shots will help plsss. am also concerned about the how long the battery last while watching videos (yep those ones...believe me is not easy seeing all that blood:crying...... well i will also post a pole up there.....SOO tell me guys.... if u were a student? will u bye a note 2 or the butterfly(droid dna)
For your needs note 2. The butterfly battery will last you one day depending on usage. With heavy usage you can expect a near dead battery by evening hours. I have light to moderate usage on my dna so my 6am to 9pm day I usually have about mid 30s left. I have both phones and the note 2 will go a whole day even if your on it for hours on end.
If you get the Japanese j buttery fly then the battery is 2500 (not completely sure)the us version has a 2020 battery which is not as good but will last.u the.whole day for me at least
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
I agree with #2, the DNA wont last you through those video sessions. It lasts me fine with normal usage, but i suspect that you're going to be a heavy user so you will run down your battery pretty fast. I would even recommend the Razr HD Maxx if the note 2 is too big for you

pretty sure the japanese version is 2020, that's why everyone was up in arms before the DNA was announced...we all thought it would be 2500, but that was all rumor. it was always 2020.

Thanks guys.....I think I will settle for the note 2......the DNA's screen was the main reson I liked it(440ppi vs 268ppi) but the note 2 has the s-pen which will be of good use (as a student I can take down notes any time).....it was very difficult choosing, cos the DNA is very sexy and nice looking ,and that full HD screen is a killer.....buh heey amma get all these once I start working:thumbup: as for the iPhone's "620p" screen............. No comment.....

Battery life as a normal smartphone

Hi all,
I'm about to purchase this beautiful phone, but as I'm not planning on any heavy mobile gaming ( believe it or not, I just like Asus, ROG, the audio setup and the form factor), I'm very interested in knowing how the battery life is with regular use.
No official review goes too much in depth on this matter.
How is the standby time, SOT, using it as a regular smartphone (mail, social, youtube, camera etc)?
Thanks a lot for your input!
This is the first phone I've ever owned where I get 2 full days. I lose 2 or 3% overnight. Overall, battery life is amazing.
You must have everything turned off. I am not even close to that on stand by ...
I came from a Pixel 2 XL. All my apps are the exact setting and the Pixel 2 XL has a smaller battery and it last longer the entire day then the ROG phone
With this phone I am having to find ways to get better life. pixel 2 XL didn't do any or that. On my pixel 2 XL I even have Always On and music ID turned on
ROG Phone owners will have to wait for custom kernels and maybe even custom ROMs because something is eating the 4000 mah battery of this phone like nothing. Many tests have proven a poor battery life, very poor considering the battery size.
Whatever it is ... It's in the system

Post the picture of the battery usage to zentalk forums too the staff there maybe can give the engineers something to go off of
Battery life is ok, Will last me about a day with normal usage and 8 with heavy ones. I got rid of FB and use metal instead. I use black theme in all The app offering it as well.
