you may want to post this issue on Tazz froyo thread it may be a known issue and people can help you there, and if its not known it would be a good note for the dev "Tazz" to know.

Don't forget the new XDA policy keeps new members from doing just that (until they have 10 posts in forums other than development). Probably why the post is here.

Hi guys
I just wondered if theres anyway to get hold of the olderand cooler stage ui that was pictured on the engadget website ? With its radio ,books and movies widgets,as I'd love djsteve to get hold of it and include it in his builds in the future .
Anyone know if this would be possible at all ?

We are working on a few leads.
Brilliant . I reckon if that was on the next build , there would be alot more converts to it.

I think that's the european builds...
European 2.2 version has radio, books and movies ? Cool! If this so , i may just wait for it....

anyone know where I can download the "engadget" version? it's available somewhere?
thx!
Perhaps engadget's version is an unfinished update or something. I can't see it being anything else, although, in typical android fashion, updates sometimes move backwards rather than forwards so i wouldn't be surprised if we never see it...

I always read about before posting. the last post in the thread was november 22, so I asked about it.
Not sure if this is the answer you guys are looking for but the pics I saw on the engadget post showed the home screen with what looks like a dock. However, it is not.
As with DJ steves builds in the past if you hit the home button it will show you a preview of all home screens. In the Stage UI if you hit the home button you will see the dock looking thing pictured in the engadget post.
Hope this helps.
Now I verified this by going back to Eclair 2.1 ji6 a few times and have confirmed that the mic sensitivity is very low ONLY when you record a video and when you use VOICE recorder. Otherwise phone conversations the other party has had no problem hearing my voice.
Can other members try this please?
the mic sensitivity is normal when I downgrade to Eclair 2.1.

its not a question Bro, its an observation. I think its in the right section due to the fact that TW brought this rom here.
cheers.
Yeah, I can attest to this. I tried messing with service mode, the video recording with audio is better but still can't fix the volume on mic input.

I have the same problem, running macnut R13 + jk6 modem.
I had no problems on eclair 2.1
the mic is fine during phone calls but on apps that needs the mic such as voice commands (vlingo) or games such as talking tom it simply does not work well. you need to be very very close to the mic and it is still too weak
You're right about the reduced mic sensitivity on 2.2 roms. I recorded a video this post weekend and noticed how low the volume was.

Not to reign in on your parade, but that is a question and it belongs in the Q&A section, not the development section. And if in fact it is a TeamWhiskey Rom, you could have posted this in that specific rom thread.
Hi,
The developers should be made aware of this.
This is a defect in the 2.2 roms.
I have also verified this on the unofficial 2.2. tmobile eugene port.
Recording volume with the mike is very low and unacceptable.
This will affect voice input functions as well as video recording.
Good find .
Hopefully it be be addressed.
And yes. it's not a question but a developmental problem and spans several roms so it does belong here.

Wanted to let everyone that I have gingerbread running on the streak. The current progress I have at the moment looks and feels great but....
Problems: wifi is dropping connection frequently and having random FC for various different components.
It is what I would consider pre alpha so I will not even post an update file for you guys yet. Will keep everyone posted as to when I will post the first actual build. Should have a decent stable version for you guys possibly as a Christmas gift. Will post photos of it soon.

i want to have a Froyo or more likely the th Ginger on my Vibrant
But i don't have a skills on how to do it
I know there are threads out there but it confuses me because there are so many version of Froyo in xda
I want to have the most stable Froyo/ginger in my vibrant, I also bought a front facing camera for my vibrant because i use Fring app a lot but i heard you need a special froyo
Please can you put a step by step process on how to install froyo/ginger
yes you can call me a noob

My suggestion is not to touch your phone. If you don't have the knowhow to do these things to your phone, then don't. A $500 paperweight sucks ass. Trust me, I've been there and done that.
Go to Teamwhiskey.com and read the guides section. That should get you going....

Check out my two part video series on going from completely stock to a custom ROM. I showcase Team Whiskeys Nero v3 w/voodoo. But, Nearly any other ROM can be inserted in place of nero. Here's a link to my thread I started over in the Vibrant Q&A section with the videos.Hope this helps! BTW try not to be too antsy to get your flash a rom on your phone, Be patient =]

I agree completely. If he's already aware there's a lot of different froyo roms on xda, then he's probably been in the threads and looked around. If he doesn't posess the general computer knowledge to be able to do it by the information already provided in this forum, I would also recommend not doing it.

How much did the front facing camera cost? A Nexus S wasn't much more than a Vibrant last time I checked, and it already has the front cam and gingerbread.

the front facing is only $22 bucks............ ok guys i root my vib, running 2.2 (eugene's) but it's kinda laggy......... i keep hearing this voodoo lagfix.. what is that?
Guys I really need some help pls! I'm not new to androids and have pretty decent knowledge of flashing and the general consensus on how androids work. However this is my first sgs2 phone trying to install galnet miui. I have failed consistently, as I have probably done 20 full wipes and installs of this rom and just can't get it right. I don't know where else to look and ask. I really like this rom and here are my problems. Everything installs just fine. Boots up fine. I just cannot make any phone calls!! I can rcv calls but when I answer it they cannot hear me. I've tried everything from different kernels to every different way of installing. I tried flashing the radios but it'll give me an error when I try to flash. When I flash a new radio with the miui.us fom it works fine. Also the 4 buttons on the phone only the home button and menu button seem to work. I cannot use the back button and search button. Are these purposely disabled? Please guys I'm begging you haha it's so damn annoying. I've posted on the galnet forums and it's dead over there. So if anyone can give me some insight. By the way I'm coming from an atrix 4g that was running oc/uv kernel at 1.4 ghz and cm7 and the sgs2 is just miles ahead! Thanks again guys (for listening to my whining in) advance.
By the way am i downloading the correct version of the rom? On their website I'm downloading sgs2 i900. I don't see anything else for our I777. I figured this would work as I saw the locked thread in here for the galnet rom.
Galnet was banned from XDA for a variety of reasons.
You'll have better luck finding an answer on their forums, they roms are not supported on XDA any longer.

I think something to do with not changing out the kernel that comes stock with miui (which breaks the gpl) and there might have been more but I'm not sure

Multiple rule violations - warez (GPL violations), claiming others' work as their own, apparently using XDA for commercial purposes, other things
On a brighter note they're now supporting our phone
Galnet is no longer here. If you have Galnet questions, please see their forums, not XDA.
