do you have busybox and superuser installed?

@jimbo77 doesn't work, but I installed now using the manual Installation
Manual Installation:
- Download the apk, rename it to xRecovery-0.2-release.ZIP
- Unpack the file, find ./res/raw folder inside. It should contain 3 files (chargemon, busybox, xrecovery.tar)
- copy these 3 files into /system/bin using root explorer (remember to remount /system rw

well i already have these in my system/bin will it copy over or i mean replace them, and lastly how do i remount /system rw ?

This is a option you can use in the app "Root explorer"

ok im up and running now 2.1-1, rooted using flasher 0.2.5, xRecovery installed, and jit enabled.
it seems the problem for me was busybox was old or something. anyway after installing 2.1-1, rooting, tried to install xRecovery-failed, ( back up your fone just incase) using the free explorer, i deleted busybox then reinstalled latest from app market, went into my apps and since id already tried to install xRecovery it was sitting in there and i pressed it, it installed it, i rebooted, added jit to fone, installed using xRecovery.
now all is good.
hope this might help someone else having trouble.

i had trouble doin all this stuff when i first did root. but i just did i restart and it worked, if u dnt restart after installing busybox and xrecovery and whatnot they dnt normally work, that was just me but urs may be different

Step 4 : Installing App2sd.
Create a folder name adb in your pc and extract all the files from adb.zip into this folder.
Connect your phone to your pc and mount the sd card. Extract all the file from app2sd2.1.zip to the root of your sd card. Make sure to unmount the sd card before continue the next step.
In your pc open up a dos terminal box by typing cmd in the Search programs and files box.
Type
cd /adb
....For some reason my computer wont find it,it says "tye system can not find the path specified"
Put a screenshot. I can only help you tomorrow. Go to bed now...sorry.

1. Check your APP, should have a SuperSU with a "#" icon.
update it from PLAY store, it should become a "super Android" icon.
2. open it and check new version binary libary update. setup notification mode.
if that not work for you. try search a flash-able version SuperSU to flash.
then with ROOT Explorer or File manager HD, you can mount /system as writable.
check the file manager HD setup, you can click the 2 checkbox.

That mean you do not gain root permission.
Install busybox from PLAY store and update its binary then try again.

Verizon Visual Voicemail mail help!!!

First - Thank in advance for your help.
Second - I know I can use a free program for VM but I don't pay for the phone so I want to use the Verizon App.
I am trying to install the Vm apk and it will not install. The only error I get is "x Application not installed."
any ideas?
I tried moving it to the System\Apps folder and restarting it.
I also tried extracting the APK to the System\Apps folder and restarting it.

Check the APK you are using. I simply copy it to system/app and reboot. Yesterday on Hyperdrive I did have to do one extra step after the reboot. I had to then run it from system/app to get it to work. But it does. I am using Eclipse TW and it worked right after the reboot.
Do either of you have the APK for the Verizon VM?
I have the zip file from Titanium Backup I ran before I installed my ROM but I cant figure out how to get those files BACK into an APK?
When I go to try to restore from TB, it hangs along with a few other apps. So I exported it into a zip. I cant figure out how to make it work from there.
If anyone can help?
Thanks!
Ive put the apk in ststem/apps changed permissions and I still get the error that it won't install.
Here is the folder

Thinking the exe would help with the installation. .. no go.
ANY help is much appreciated.

Read only File System Problem

Hi everyone,
First of all, I would like to wish Merry Christmas to the Community Members...
Secondly, I am stuck on a very irritating problem: Read Only File System
I Rooted my phone, Flashed CWM 6.0.3.1 a month ago. Since then, I tried various ROMs here and I found this problem in all ROMs I've tried. Basically, I am not able to Change my System Files.
I tried ES File Explorer to overwrite but it says: Permission Denied!
I tried all File manager, but failed!
I tried mount -o remount,rw /system but neither it changed the permissions, nor it gave any error in Terminal.
I used Terminal and tried the chmod command, but it says Read Only file system
I tried to make a Flashable ZIP using this method, but even this doesn't change the files.(No, it does not show any error while flashing the zip through CWM)
Actually, I was trying to overwrite the boot animation, but the thing is that my whole system seems to be Read Only.
So, I would like to ask for help regarding this.
Thank You
Best Regards,
THAKUR

flashed roms. ..? ehh is your bootloader unlocked...?
second it looks like a root problem . try this method to gain root again (if you're already rooted ,then go to supersu and in settings do permanent unroot) ,it roots your phone in 28~35 seconds ,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2511695
Ok. So the problem was solved on the same time as I posted this thread.
What worked for me:
When I tried mount -o remount,rw /system, I was still not able to Fix permissions through ES File Explorer. Then, When I tried mount -o remount,rw /system 2 times, and then I used the Default File manager(Cyanogen File Manager) to change permissions, it was working.
Ok. So the problem is solved now.
Thread can be marked as SOLVED :good:
Anuj, Thanks though

H96 Pro + S912 not booting

Hi Guys,
i need your support i downloaded an app to watch the World Cup live and then it stopped and i got message that this app will not work again as my H96 Pro + is rooted, so unfortunately in decided to unroot it through another app i got from google play but after restarting devices it stops while booting and it not loading its android system.
Please consult me what to do?
thanks.
well, next time if you have a rooted device, and you have a nasty app that wants your device unrooted, install APK Editor open the (edit) that app , and apply the hide_root.zip
P.S.: If now you don't have TWRP recovery and did not make a backup you must flash the firmware again

Unfortunately, I don't have TWRP recovery but i still have access to my recovery menu, can i install it through it ?
if you have the firmware an IMG you can flash it from PC with USB Burning Tool, or if you have a ZIP you can flash it through recovery from a USB/SD card
