[Q] After upgrade to 2.1 phone does not start - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everybody.
I have this weird problem. The phone does not start after upgrade to 2.1.
I have tried all ROMs for 2.1. Any 1.6 Rom works just fine. Whenever I flash 2.1 (either directly with flasher available on the forum or update through seus) the phone only vibrates once when I press the power button. Any 1.6 ROM works. Any 2.1 does not. Did anyone have this problem and if so are there any ways to solve this issue?
Thanks

simply repair it with PC Companion.

That did not help. All it does is that it flashes the phone like SEUS, it seems.

bumb anybody?

It does take an abnormally long time to load the first time but im assuming that you have waited a great deal. It doesnt make sense that it wouldnt load any of them unless there was some user error...

I left the phone overnight 3 times. Last time it drained all the battery from 90% to zero. 2.1 did not boot. I thought I completely bricked the phone because it would not charge without the working ROM. I went to a store with a laptop, borrowed their battery and flashed 1.6 and it booted right away. I have tried everything. I don't know what can be wrong.
By abnormally long how long do people usually wait untill the phone boots after flashing 2.1? 10-20 min?

Out of curiosity I flashed boot.sin from 1.6 with 2.1 f/w. Now I do see Sony Ericsson image on the screen but it reboots every minute or so. So maybe it's the bootloader that isn't compatible with my phone

I think the 2.1 gives the option to do a full wipe correct? Make sure you are doing that. I flashed to nordic 2.1 when it popped on the forums but i never had any problems so im kinda shooting in the dark at this one.
And by long time i mean 5+ mins for the boot. Nothing too outrageous.
Has the update been released for your area or are you with me on att? If your in another area many of the phone stores will flash it for you. Just an option.

Where does it give an option to fully wipe the phone? in the flasher I did wipe user data. I did use 2.1 before, but it would sometimes not boot at all. So I removed the battery and it booted. Sometimes it took 20 min to startup. Now it doesn't at all. I think there's something wrong with the phone, why 1.6 is working tho?! Very strange...

[Q] I would give anything for help X10 mini pro loop

Hi guys,
I have a problem with my x10 mini pro. There are some similar posts here but nobody exactly describe what is happening to me. So my problem:
One day i have been in subway, phone working properly everything fine. THan suddenly 3G icon has disappear and wouldnt go back. So i decided to restart the device. But since i turned it off, i cannot turn it back on again...
I have tried to take out the simcard, take out mempory card, multiple time reflash by SEUS but still cannot turn it on.
I cna charge the phone with no problem, i can flash it with no problem, but i cannot use it at all.
When i press power button, phone shortly vibrate as he is turning on, than display get a bit brighter (not white, just lights up its easy to notice from profile). and than after few seconds get black again. And like this it continue until it drains battery, only without vibrating. every cca 5 seconds display light up and than get black again. So i guess its rebooting all the time. I have tried all tricks like pressing power+home button, still nothing.
I think i just need really wipe out the whole phone and flash it again. Is it possible somehow? I feel like reflashing by SEUS is not real hardcore flash, is there anything stronger i can try?
I am willing to try anything if anybody has an idea, since its not working anyway so i dont care what i try.
Thanks for advices !

I try this already... Still the same
Try to flash 1.6 back.
I had the same problem, didnt ever find a way to fix it so had it replaced under warrenty. may be your only way on this problem im afraid.
I tried 1.6 - didnt work
Problem is that i have no warranty.... I just gave it to my friend who is going to singapore, she knows some official SE shop, so maybe i will get it fixed, but im not sure if it wont be for the same money as new phone...
Well the phone is under a year old so it will be covererd under se warranty unless they think you broke there warranty in any way. I would flash it back to your original FW before having it looked at and wipe your sd card.
I bought it in chinese market (Its not a copy) without any receipt or anything, I dont think so they will took it as a warranty. I have done all of this. Flashed to my original FW, wiped everything, nothing works...
did u try SEUS ?
is your phone getting detected via SEUS in flash mode ? what happens when :
1. Take off the battery for 30 secs
2. connect the phone to usb
3. Power on the phone with back button pressed.
if SEUS detects u should be able to flash it. The flash tool also should be working.

[Q] Briked my X10!

Hey,
I'm afraid I managed to somehow brick my X10 (although I know you all say that's impossible). But here's the problem:
My phone is on the cyanogenmod 6.1 (gingerbread), and was working perfectly fine for over a few months. But two weeks ago he suddenly went off, and I can't restart him. I think the phone freezes the moment the boot loader should load android. Because when I press the ON button, the LED flashes green, and the phone vibrates (as it would normally do), but then nothing! And the phone doesn't respond to anything else I do then. The only thing I can do is take out the battery, put it back in, and were back in the beginning stage
I tried to repair with SEUS and PC Companion. When it asks to plug in flash mode (plug in while holding the back button), I do so, and the PC recognizes the phone. But when it tries to repair, I get an error after a while. The progress bar shows no process at all, so I think the error is a time out error, because the phone is frozen.
I don't know what to do any more know, and I'm not really looking foreword to buying a knew phone already! So I hope you guys can help me!

Have you tried flashtool? Its worth a shot.
Sent from my X10i using XDA Premium App
Tried, but I don't seem to find an entire rom to flash. Most roms I find are .zip or .7z, and those files don't contain an .ftf file.
Do know were I could find one?
Im on my phone now so I cant post a link, but search for "flashtool firmwares" in the devs section. It will take you back to stock 2.1 (Or 2.3 depending on the firmware you get)

Tried Flashtool, but no succes! It says "Error Flashing. Aborted". No luck with that! But thanks anyway!
There must be some other way I can repair my phone..
i have exactly the same problem with my x10i, it only vibrates continuously but won't boot,
i tried everything, flashing with generic firmwares 1.6, 2.1 and 2.3.3 and repair using PC companion and SEUS still nothing ( i make sure that i have 50% battery before flashing)
when flashing it enters flash mode without even pressing the back key, when hooked to charger green LED lit immediately as if (flash mode)
i taught it was the LCD but i tried to use another xperia x10i motherboard and the LCD works fine (i have 2 xperia x10i btw)
any help will be much appreciated.
use the search option on this forum!

Phone turnes off when connected to PC

Hi guys!
I have some problems with my X10i. First it all started with me wanted to go back to a previous backup with xRecovery. All this went wrong and got a message in xrecovery that it was not able to load sd-card. And then it was stuck on Sony Ericsson boot screen.
I got it flashed now, with Android 2.3, and wanted to root and install xRecovery, but when I start my phone and connect it to my comuter, it reboots. It wont stay on with USB connected to PC, so long till I can root.
I'm getting pretty irritated now.
What is wrong?
Hope you guys can help, and sorry for bad english.
Revert back to stock f/w pal u should be fine

Thank you for your answer.
But do you mean to restore to 2.1? When I downloaded flashtool I got 2.1 with the program, do you mean to restore with this flash that came with flashtool program?
Flash
Try fix it with seus
Okay.. I updated my phone to newest, 2.3.3.
After I had updated the sony program said that I had to wait for my phone to reboot and not take out my battery for the first time, but my phone did not reboot. Nothing happend after I disconnected the phone. When I pressed the power button it only blinked green one time, so I took out my battery and rebooted.
Everything went fine in the beginning, couple of reboots that I expected after new software, but now my phone reboots and reboots. Sometimes I can't even get to the screen where I unlock my phone before it reboots. And even thou when charging, it reboots.
Omg.. so frustrating!!!
Please help! Should I restore to 2.3 or the 2.1 that came with flashtool program?

[Q] Help! Atrix 4g Shuts Off Randomly :(

Hey Guys..
I recently received a refurbished Atrix 4g as a warranty exchange and everything was working fine for a while. Then I decided to unlock the BL and try a few of the ROMs out there. No issues with the flashing part, but now I get random shut downs maybe 10-15 times a day. I have tried multiple thing without success so far so if you have any idea what could help please let me know how to do it.. How can I adjust the CPU/voltage settings on the phone (might work..?)
The phone does not shut down/restart while I am charging or it is in use. Seems to be only in sleep/idle mode
Types of shut downs:
1. Phone shuts off and I have to pull the battery so that it will turn on (green light blinks every few seconds while it is off even without notifications).
2. Phone shuts off and I can get it to turn on by pressing the power button (same light situation as above).
3. Phone shuts off but immediately turns back on and boots up fine.
4. Phone shuts off but immediately turns back on but rather than booting up shows the red text error "Unreachable bootloader error 0x00000004" (green light lit dimly). Will restart fine once I pull battery and reboot.
What I have tried so far:
1. Flashing different ROMs with different kernels.
2. Replaced battery.
3. Read a million posts on issues somewhat similar.
Thanks for any help!
I have the same thing it's because you unlocked the boot loader I no this because if I relock it it never sod
I would use fast boot to wipe data wipe cache and dalvic and then properly flash a good working rom like cm7 or nottach trix something like that also you could wipe every thing and flash current sbf /root into it then flash rom
if the second option still messes up its a hardware issue

Hey, thanks for the suggestions.
I have tried or am currently using those ROMs .. Is there a safe way to flash the current sbf if i started off at 2.3.6 4.5.141?
My atrix did the same thing when I first flashed the neutrino rom but it was only because I wasn't using rom racers recovery. Try flashing that and then wipe everything and flash neutrino again. I'm not sure if that's your problem but flashing the latest recovery fixed mine.

you relocked the bootloader? really?
please do tell us more lol
What is the cause if you have random reboots with a fully stock Atrix? My wife has an Atrix that I'm not allowed to touch (meaning root it or unlock bootloader, etc). She has had it a few months and this past week while she has been using it, it just reboots. I have never experienced this on any of my phones. Any thoughts? I would be grateful for the insight so i don't have to do a warranty exchange.

Iglf that didn't work you should return it. Mine would just reboot and not show some error. Maybe you got aa water damaged phone? Its possible for water to just hit a price of metal to cause a phone to go bonkers

I'm guessing he means the fix that makes the "unlocked" message stop appearing, lots of people were doing it to return for warranty issues when the Atrix was newer. It doesn't actually relock it, it just stops showing unlocked at boot.
I have a completely stock atrix and do to touchscreen issues(wouldnt respond halfway throuh any function) i did a factory reset via settings menu. Cleared up my touchscreen issues so far but now my phone reboots 5-10 times an hour unless charging or during call...

Both a co-worker and myself have been experiencing random reboots for the last week. Both of ours are 2.3.6/4.5.141. Only difference between ours is mine is rooted, his not.
I wiped my Dalvik cache last night, and so far only rebooted once in the last 24 hours (Before it was almost 5 times a day). I did same wipe on his phone, and will see if that fixes problem.
It's just weird that everyone with an Atrix is experiencing this reboots.
I have the sme problem of my phone.. but random reboots appears when internal temp reaches over 38 degrees. I want to take it back to warranty but WTF am I gonna do with a new atrix that I can't touch??
So.. somewhere I read that an app called load monitor can help with this problem.. so I did.. Downloaded from market.. my cell phone has been working pretty good so far.. I created a profile on SetCPU and undervolted it 25 Mhz..
I haven't flash a sfb file just because I dont want to hard brick my phone..
If anyone wants to try what I said please let me know if that worked for you guys..
Regards..!!
I've had this twice in the past twelve hours. It happened once when I had it plugged into my computer in mass storage mode and another time when it was just sitting idle. I've always had load monitor installed on my phone. It tells me something is using a ton of resources, but I can't tell what. Task manager doesn't yield any answers either.
I was just going to send mine in, but I forgot about the new bootloader lock. F***.
I'm running the latest Nottachtrix (flashed via romracers) and the Faux123 1.45ghz kernel.
I know it's not water damage, as suggested earlier. It just started last night and my phone wasn't near water.
This issue seems to be all over the board. Some have some don't. Its very frustrating. I cant even u a case on my atrix. Anytime I use the phone more than 30 mins at a time I get either get the blue sleep or a reboot. And have to pull the battery. Have a spare unrooted atrix I'm gonna switch to til this issue can be resolved.

try using a different kernel with your roms
Reboots
I used to have the same problem, constant reboots all day long. I seem to have cured it installing 1.4.2 telstra, (im on a Bell), and then unlocked and rooted, then flashed 4.5.133 and hit it with faux's 1.45 ghz kernel, works like a charm now. This info might help..
Is is this issue with the WiFi?
I have heard that there is a problem with the Broadcom WiFi module that is inside the phone, when it dies it causes the phone to randomly reboot.
There is an ICS ROM that does not include support for this chip so it may fix the problem (provided you don't ever need WiFi or Bluetooth)

HELPPP
Please my atrix 4g just keeps turning off like every 30-15 minutes and sometimes because overheating i think and i have no warranty at all i bought of ebay at first it was okay but the i unlocked bootloader and rooted i was 2.3.6 4.5.141 and im no nottchatrix 1.31 first i was on neutrino 2.8 and allways reseted.. and i think the fingerprint sensor wont work now my phone worked like a charm when i bought it but now not help pleaseeeee

[Q] cm7 complete unwanted wipe

I'm really worried about this, a minute ago my mini decided to reboot and complete wipe itself. I'm back at point 0 of config mi device. No contacts, no sms, no apps, nothing. Only content left is in sdcard.
I've been using it without any problem for several months, you can look up my other thread...
any suggestions to recover my old state rom? I believe it's impossible since I didn't do any backup with cwm...
anybody had this problem? sadly I'll have to go back to stock for this rom is just too unstable to use... i'm really sad about this! I had my work mail running and lots of apps!! I have to say,WTF!!

Did you tap factory reset by accident?
What did you do before the wipe happened?
Do you have a nand backup?

the phone was running out of battery, it was at 5%. I know for a fact that the 0%-5% range takes quite a while to consume, so I was cool.
I plugged it while getting ready to work and it showed the "restarting" sign. I thought 'that's weird' but didn't do anything, just let it reboot.
When it came back from that reboot (plugged in all the time) I am greeted by the 'welcome to android' screen.
I have no back up and it's fine, the only important thing are the photos wich I recover.
I feel bad since I can't continue to use this rom.
Is there a stock GB for x10 mini??
-----
last nigth I tried to upgrade to ICS: kernel flashed fine but rom won't boot. It freezes at NAA kernel splash screen.
I've read about pressing home to continue booting but it didn't work.
so, I need a ROM recommendation for my device, can't be cm7.2 and It'll be nice if it's GB.
many regards,
