I have just purchased a brand new X10 Mini Pro and although I love it, I have an issue with upgrading the phone's firmware to the newest version.
I currently have Android 1.6 ; Kernel version 2.6.29 ; Build number 1.2.A.1.174.
Model number is U20i, while Baseband version is "Unkown". The phone was purchased in Telenor and I believe it is locked to this network.
Any thoughts? I'd really love a new firmware.
I have tried both the built in software in the phone and PC Companion, but both give the same error.
Any ideas? Could I safely flash it using a 3rd party flash program?
After being advised on the Sony Ericsson support boards to follow instructions given in this thread, I have encountered an issue.
The files in the UK firmware supplied in the first posts need to be bundled (.sin files) in order to work. My bundle contains the following files:
amss.sin
amss_fs.sin
cache.sin
fota0.sin
fota1.sin
kernel.sin
simlock.ta
system.sin
userdata.sin
I have created a firmware, but I am not sure if it is safe to flash it this way. Can anyone confirm that this is how it's supposed to be, or am I doing something wrong?

so basically i have generic x10i uk r2ba020 f/w on my rogers x10a phone..
i kept having problems with wifi and i'm thinking it might be because of the firmware i have currently, so i want to bring it back to x10a (rogers f/w)
however, i've tried the flashtool in jerpelea's thread, the one-click apk file, and they both keep giving me this error
right after i connect the phone in flash mode, i get
'invalid or corrupt 'jar' file'
i can't use omnius because i need to purchase licenses and it's no longer free..
is there any other way for me to get this phone back to x10a??? i'm really worried that i won't even be able to update to 2.1 when the update comes out..

edit : can't seem to delete this thread...
i couldn't get it working on xp, but after many tries, I got the file working on win7, with one of the problems being the deviceid.txt being saved as unicode not ansi...
anyhow.. everything works now. thanks
hi my friends
I have a problem changing the baseband on the Sk17a, it doesnt matter what firmware i flash, always remains on the -64. i tried all the firmware from wotan but nothing helped. And now when i flash a firmware my phone turns on and after the Sony Ericsson logo it displays a mobile phone with an Exclamation Mark inside an triangle. I want to go back to -58 or -62 baseband for Sk17a
thanks
update--
it happens when i am flashing firmware for SK17a which is strange because my model is SK17a. if i flash a SK17i firmware it is ok. Any help? i am flashing the firmware from wotan. and another think if someone can help me make an .ftf file to flash it with flashtool from wotan files, maybe it will help!!
Right, i have a little problem, for some reason i can no longer flash any .ftf onto my s
A bit of history:
Phone is standard UK simfree/generic (with yellow screen!)
came with .62 stock, updated to .67 OTA
Flashed SG generic .73 - all went ok.
Flashed CE1 Generic .73 - again all went ok
I now need to revert to stock UK as i need to send the phone back for yellow tint, so i did this:
PCC- Repair phone... all went ok, but still on CE1 generic .73 (i thought this would revert phone back to UK?)
ok, i thought... simple, i'll just flash generic uk .67 with flashtool.... won't work!
i can't even flash the same CE1 generic .73 that i previously flashed!
Ive tried with both flashtool 0.7.1.0 and 0.6.8.0

Try another FTF
i had a similar problem, turned out to be a problem with the phone, i had to do a repair on sony pc companion and then flash again, it did work after this one, i was trying to install the stock uk to send mine back to phones for u
Hello everyone,
i've been waiting for the official lollipop update and today I noticed that my region already got it (CDA: 1281-4642 Operator: CostumizedPT Latest Release: 23.1.A.0.726 / R4C as seen on XperiFirm) I confirmed on build.prop and my Xperia Z2 is indeed using the 1281-4642, yet I'm not getting the update.
I then tried to install it my self using Sony Mobile Flasher, I followed all the procedures but when I do the final step to flash the firmware I get this error:
14/017/2015 14:17:28 - INFO - Processing loader.sin
14/017/2015 14:17:28 - INFO - Checking header
14/017/2015 14:17:28 - ERROR - Processing of loader.sin finished with errors.
14/017/2015 14:17:28 - INFO - Ending flash session
14/017/2015 14:17:28 - ERROR - Error in processHeader : 1 : Incorrect function.
14/017/2015 14:17:28 - ERROR - Error flashing. Aborted
I looked around and this seems to be related to corrupt Firmwares, however I tried 2 different ones (CostumizedPT and VodafonePT) and both gave me the same error. I also tried 2 different USB Cables.
Does anyone know why this could be happening?
Same for me, got it last week, checked system update, nothing. Connected to the PC companion and still no updates "Your device is up to date" I have the D6503 eu / Uk amazon unlocked version. When I do a flash through the software I'm back onto kit kat.. Very annoying when I need to utilise my SD card with app data.
So, I had some microphone problems with a newly-purchased Xperia Z5c, got a load of lip from Sony about it not being under warranty at all, due to it having been "manufactured outside the US", and tore into them with the knowledge that no Sony Xperia phones are made in the USA. They folded, and sent me a new one, different IMEI, and the US model, the E5803.
So, I rooted the phone, but several of the "latest versions of android available via Flashtool's excellent "XperiaFirm" facility left me in a "No Sim, No IMEI" situation. I had to settle for a Marshmallow (32.2.A.5.11) version to avoid this. But somehow, I now have a phone that claims that it is a E5823 (non-USA) running Android 6.0.1 rather than a E5803, so I cannot restore my TA partition to the phone.
The good news in the above is that simply flashing a different OS image fixed the problem, there was no permanent damage despite the scary-looking lack of a modem and a SIM with the "bad" (or somehow incompatible) images.
Also, Flashtool refused to allow me to flash any of the E5803 versions of Android, claiming that my phone was a "E5823".
The questions that result are as follows:
1) How does Flashtool determine the model number for E5803 vs E5823 ?
2) How does one convince FLashtool to ignore model numbers and let one load what one wants?
3) I can understand how flashing a new OS image might change the model number, but are there any E5803 images out there that work? I sure could not find one.
4) Is there any way to restore a TA partition to a phone that has been "upgraded" from a E5803 to an E5823?
Thanks!
