If you are on build 2.0.2.A.0.24 then use this.

A new root method is available which is far simpler than the original method. It is effective on all X10 firmwares to date:

Amazing! Will try 026 later.

You mean you use this X10 mini/pro method to root your X10?
Does it give us root of bootloader or just the same as Bin4ry & co provide?
Successfully rooted a Rogers Xperia X10a running the standard Rogers R2BA020 firmware from SEUS. Nice.

Nothing to do with the bootloader just an easier way of getting root.
@chai_archer, Yes the X10 mini exploit used on X10. Works fine. Just gives root, doesn't affect the boot loader in anyway.
Someone already with R2BA026 please try this exploit
tested on R2BA026 Generic from SEUS, works ! and you get Creatouch.
Wohoo nice! Will finally install 26 in the morning
Titanium gave me a busybox error. It offered me an alternate version which fixed the issue. Anyone else?

Did you give adb shell permission through the Superuser popup request?
Boom - just used Omnius to go back to Generic UK R1FA16, then used SEUS to get to R2BA026. Then I rooted it, no problems Fantastic!

You could have just used the decrypted files for 026 on the 1st page of the decrypted thread instead of flashing it twice lol

Thanks in advance

Mine :
Firmware version : 2.1-update1
build number :2.0.A.0.504
and z4root worked well
Thanks all,
I managed with a little fiddling to get root using the z4 method - operator bloatware is now a thing of the past :-D

please any chance to root my mini 2.1 ,I try but seem no way?
SuperOneClick from what a short search revealed...but someone more knowledgeable is surely able to provide specifics
First, check the Build Number you are using by going to Settings>About Phone
If you have 2.0.A.0.504: use z4root
If you have 2.0.2.A.0.24: use SuperOneClick

Hi, I think that what you are looking for is this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1186045
You switch the region of your phone and then SEUS should let u update.
Hint: You can edit the build.prop file using the flash tool, you will need a rooted 2.1 Android thou...
I forgot to tell ya man... I ran into some issues with the GPS using a pre-rooted rom, my phone is overheating due the very same problem...
I do find some things really slow (slower than Cyanogen GB) but is a good rom at the end and I will use SEUS to update my phone as soon as it will becomes available in my country... (México, Xperia X10a)

Those aren't methods, those are frontend for the rooting exploits, such as rageagainstthecage, GingerBreak, psneuter, etc.
And yes, as of now, there is no exploit that can breakthrough SE's Great Wall of Xperia.

Hello everyone,
I would like to know if there is any (tested) method of rooting xperia pro with firmware 4.0.2.A.0.62. My phone is unlocked. I have no idea if my bootloader is locked or unlocked...
Some say they rooted this firmware, some say they failed, and I would like to know for sure if there is any way to root it.
The reason I want to root my phone is mainly to remove the annoying preintalled apps.
Any help would be great. Thanks!
How To Root Xperia Pro MK16I 4.0.2.A.0.62
I had to downgrade the software back down to version 4.0.2.A.0.58 in order to root the phone. My thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22619413#post22619413 refers.
Unfortunately, as yet, nobody seems to have posted a simple method of rooting the phone with version 4.0.2.A.0.62.
Cheers
