[Q] Simlock service menu give's me this. What does it mean? - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi There,
edit: Just found the answere on the first question... (google &XDADevs ^^)
First of all, what is the differance between the X10i and X10a?
Second:
I've bought a second handed x10, but now I have the problem that I cant get in it with my provider (i think). It's a dutch version from KPN and I've got Vodafone. When I go into the 'secret' menu and press simlock I see this:
[x] Network 0
[] Network subset 10
[] Service provider 10
[] Corporate 10
[] SIM 0
I hope you guy's can help me a bit, and does someone know how to unlock the phone?
Thanks
Kind Regards,
Sami

I=international
A=America
I don't know about the rest.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App

X means it is locked, and 0 refers to the number of attempts left to enter the code.
Since you have 0, you have no tries to unlock it by code.
Even the right unlock code cannot be entered. Your previous owner has entered the wrong code too many times.
Only way is to unlock this phone is with the USB cable provided with the phone.

Oké thank you for the info! Can I do that by flashing the phone? Like in other threats is stated (by flashing with the firmware's??). And is there a dutch firmware?

you can't sim unlock it via fw
try with the link in my signature, but you will have to pay, the good part is that it works

Hi there, my menu is like this
[o] Network 5
[x] network subnet 0
[x] service provider 0
[x] corporate 0
[x] sim 0
so I guess the NETWORK is not locked (but I have 5 tries ???) and the four remaining are locked and I have no tries, or am I mistaken?
Also if I insert any other sim card I never get the pop up window to enter an unlocking code. Could you please enlighten me cause I am really stuck.

Hi, if you have [o] Network 5
instead of [x] Network 5
this means that your phone is not unlockable by standard unlock by code method.
Probably you have to unlock it to your carrier

[Q] Unlocked phone asks to insert SIM???

Hi everybody,
I'm having a very confusing problem with my Xperia Neo and I hope somebody can shed a little bit of light on it!!
I recently brought my old Xperia Neo to a repair center and, when I got back the phone, they told me that the handset had been replaced.
Now, I have a Xperia Neo manufactured on week 12W25....
The problem is that my phone was originally Network Locked for Vodafone Spain and I unlocked it....now of course the new phone they gave me should be locked too.
Here is what happens when I try to insert any sim (not Vodafone Spain, as I live in the UK now) into the phone:
The sim is read, and if it has a PIN, I am asked for it
I am NOT asked for a Network Unlcok Code
Once I insert the PIN, the Wizard for choosing the language appears
Once I choose the language, a popup appears saying: Insert SIM card and restart phone.
At this point the phone started up, but I have only Emergency calls enabled!
It looks like the phone is locked, right?
Well, here the situation gets confusing: I tried to insert the code "*#*#7378423#*#*" and, in Service Info -> SIM Lock I see this:
[] Network 0
[] Network Subset 0
.... etc....
That is, it looks like my phone is not locked in the first place....right???
Can you guy explain to me what's happening? And maybe point me to a solution??
All previous methods of unlocking I used (Omnius and FastGsm X Unlock tool) didn't work so I don't know what to do.....
Thank you very much!!!!

I have problems with the unlock code, HELP!

Well there is my case:
6 months ago, I bought a Nokia Lumia 920 LOCKED with AT&T, well yesterdar I received the unlock code from AT&T
BUT THE UNLOCK CODE DOESN'T WORK.
I Inserted a TELCEL SIM CARD
and the cellphone show me this:
"This SIM Card can only be used on specific networks, contact your customer service center for the UNLOCK CODE."
10 attempts remaining.
I wrote the UNLOCK CODE (20 Digit)
and shows a message: "INCORRECT PIN"
and shows:
"This SIM Card can only be used on specific networks, contact your customer service center for the UNLOCK CODE."
9 attempts remaining.
I wrote the UNLOCK CODE (20 Digit)
and shows a message: "SIM ERROR"
And do it again
"This SIM Card can only be used on specific networks, contact your customer service center for the UNLOCK CODE."
9 attempts remaining.
I wrote the UNLOCK CODE (20 Digit)
and shows a message: "SIM ERROR"
the attempts remaining shows: only 9 attempts remaining and sim error!
What happening?
and must shows 8 attempts remaining
I tried with the PIN CODE SIM: 4 DIGIT
i tried with the PUK CODE SIM
I tried withe unlock code: 20 DIGIT!
Please help me, need your help

Are you entering the code with the original SIM card in the phone? I don't believe that it will work unless the original SIM that the IEMI number is linked to is in the phone when you enter the code. Once the code is accepted you can then put a different SIM in.

Are you leaving the original SIM the phone came with in it when you enter the code? Unless the IEMI has been linked to a SIM already either by AT&T or other provider, I don't think the code will work. I am pretty sure when you enter the code the SIM is validated against the IEMI it was registered to. Once you use the original SIM and unlock it you should be able to put your new SIM in then.

I'm having the same problem as well. but if you have the original sim, it wouldn't ask for an unlock code in the first place. it only asks for the unlock code because of the invalid sim.

check your unlock code guys and make sure they are 20 digits. mine was 21 which is why i was getting the error. luckily i figure out which number was wrong on the first try and now my phone is unlocked. good luck fellas
You should be using SIM from another carrier then att. Could be your code is incorrect. Phone back and confirm.

i think you can call vodaphone and ask them to unlock the phone, i dont think we can do anything about having 0 unlock codes (sony security bleh)
The fact is i got it as a gift and i live in Bangladesh.
So there is no way to unlock it ?

Can you put a screenshot of the screen you get when you type *#*#7378423#*#* ? Depending on it, I may have a suggestion.
Thanks a lot bro. I will post it today. Thanks again.

Can you put a screenshot of the same? If it says 5 for network with an [x] before the network, then it means your phone has 5 attempts to unlock it. If you wish to get your phone unlocked you can PM me
You can unlock your phone by unlock code by purchasing it from a supplier.

Can I unlock network?

Just got an Xperia M4 Aqua and I am trying to work out if I can unlock the network by getting an unlock code of ebay, etc?
When I go into the service info menu and select sim lock I see:
[o] Network 5
I believe the right hand number (5) is the number of retries but usually you see an [x] on the left not a [o].
See a few conflicting things on the web about whether this can or can't network unlocked and hoping someone can give me a straight answer.
Thanks.
Normally, you can apply for SIM unlock from your carrier, at least in the US. Check with your carrier
Are you sure it's not already unlocked?
My Aqua came network unlocked straight out of the box.
You can try chimera tools,,, it based on Windows version,, also it's better to root your phone before use chimera.
