Hi There,
edit: Just found the answere on the first question... (google &XDADevs ^^)
First of all, what is the differance between the X10i and X10a?
Second:
I've bought a second handed x10, but now I have the problem that I cant get in it with my provider (i think). It's a dutch version from KPN and I've got Vodafone. When I go into the 'secret' menu and press simlock I see this:
[x] Network 0
[] Network subset 10
[] Service provider 10
[] Corporate 10
[] SIM 0
I hope you guy's can help me a bit, and does someone know how to unlock the phone?
Thanks
Kind Regards,
Sami
I=international
A=America
I don't know about the rest.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
X means it is locked, and 0 refers to the number of attempts left to enter the code.
Since you have 0, you have no tries to unlock it by code.
Even the right unlock code cannot be entered. Your previous owner has entered the wrong code too many times.
Only way is to unlock this phone is with the USB cable provided with the phone.

Oké thank you for the info! Can I do that by flashing the phone? Like in other threats is stated (by flashing with the firmware's??). And is there a dutch firmware?
you can't sim unlock it via fw
try with the link in my signature, but you will have to pay, the good part is that it works
Hi there, my menu is like this
[o] Network 5
[x] network subnet 0
[x] service provider 0
[x] corporate 0
[x] sim 0
so I guess the NETWORK is not locked (but I have 5 tries ???) and the four remaining are locked and I have no tries, or am I mistaken?
Also if I insert any other sim card I never get the pop up window to enter an unlocking code. Could you please enlighten me cause I am really stuck.

bad news
Hi, if you have [o] Network 5
instead of [x] Network 5
this means that your phone is not unlockable by standard unlock by code method.
Probably you have to unlock it to your carrier

I have bought a new Xperia Ray ST18a from Telus (Canada). I have successfully unlocked it using a code, called my voice mail without a problem. Then I downloaded Sony's PC companion to verify if the phone's software was up to date. When the update was finish, I tried to make another call and noticed the "Emergency Calls only. No Sim Card" message.
I used the Sim card in my old phone and it worked. I used another Sim card in my Ray, the 'No Sim card Message' was still there.
I sent the phone to Sony for repair and came back with again the same problem.
Anybody have a clue what is wrong with the phone?
The SIM lock Menu it shows:
[x Network 10
]
[] Network subset 0
[] Service provider 0
[] Corporate 0
[] SIM 0
Phone software version: 1248-9545_4.0.1.A.0.283 Generic -user
File System Version: Telus_4.0.1.A.0.283
S1 Boot version: 1241-3656-R9A029
ETS software Version: 1247-1301_7
Rooting Status: Bootloader Unlock Allowed: No
It's locked again
They have network locked your phone again. As for the SIM problem, maybe the phone/SIM contacts aren't clean enough. I don't think it's related to the network lock/unlock.

Thanks for the reply.
I have checked the contacts and even applied pressure on them when the phone was restarting. Same results.
How can you tell it's network locked again?
With which code did you unlock?
Does any other SIM card work?
According to the Network value, seems like the SIM-lock is still there...Is the phone branded?

Yes it's a branded phone.
I tried another SIM card from another cell phone and I'm still having the same message.
I bought an unlock code from a unlocking service from the internet.
Learned something yesterday!
Not all cell phones can prevent the insertion of the SIM card the wrong way!
On the Ray you can insert the card the wrong way and you will be able to install the battery and cover perfectly. I have re-inserted the SIM card in the right position and the "No SIM card" message disappeared and was able to unlock it with the same previous code. All is now fine.
I don't mind looking like a foul and hope this thread will help somebody else.
Thank you for trying to help.

You inserted the SIM card in the wrong position? How is that even possible?

Believe it or not
Hi everybody,
I'm having a very confusing problem with my Xperia Neo and I hope somebody can shed a little bit of light on it!!
I recently brought my old Xperia Neo to a repair center and, when I got back the phone, they told me that the handset had been replaced.
Now, I have a Xperia Neo manufactured on week 12W25....
The problem is that my phone was originally Network Locked for Vodafone Spain and I unlocked it....now of course the new phone they gave me should be locked too.
Here is what happens when I try to insert any sim (not Vodafone Spain, as I live in the UK now) into the phone:
The sim is read, and if it has a PIN, I am asked for it
I am NOT asked for a Network Unlcok Code
Once I insert the PIN, the Wizard for choosing the language appears
Once I choose the language, a popup appears saying: Insert SIM card and restart phone.
At this point the phone started up, but I have only Emergency calls enabled!
It looks like the phone is locked, right?
Well, here the situation gets confusing: I tried to insert the code "*#*#7378423#*#*" and, in Service Info -> SIM Lock I see this:
[] Network 0
[] Network Subset 0
.... etc....
That is, it looks like my phone is not locked in the first place....right???
Can you guy explain to me what's happening? And maybe point me to a solution??
All previous methods of unlocking I used (Omnius and FastGsm X Unlock tool) didn't work so I don't know what to do.....
Thank you very much!!!!

your phone is sim unlocked? you can check it by dialing *#*#7378423#*#* then service info > sim lock
[ ] and 0 means sim unlocked
[x] and any number means sim locked
it was a hardware issue cost me 150$ to fix the pins were broken
