My phone is stuck on the emergency call screen because I have no sim, I have tried flashing and upgrading through the Sony software with no luck. The root software I have tried doesnt work. Any suggestions?
you must have the SIM card when you install the new OS.

Hi! I have a big problem with my mini! At first i put on the mini a gingerbread rom but unfortunately it was for x10mini pro, not x10mini. Thats the point where my the phone could not recognize the sim card. (i was using the stock kernel) . Then from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1068553 i put a new rom and the latest naA kernel. i followed all the proceudere i unlocked the bootloader and all the neseccery things. the phone was working but still there was a message no sim inserted. then i went back to stock rom with pc companion and relocked the bootloader with s1tool. But neither the sim card is recognized nor the wifi is working. what can i do?
try to wipe factory reset from xrecovery or cwm
or try read the thread rom
read the FAQ or troubleshooting
i made i wipe out
removed and put again the batery cable
restored with pc compianion
restored with seus
but i still get the message enter sim card... any other ideas?
i read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1361088
but i cannot understand what i must do...
i am looking for 1.6 firmware of x10mini. i hope with the old firmware the sim will work.
So I finally got around to rooting my phone to get rid of bloatware. I deleted something I shouldn't have, though, because I got stuck in the LG Security Error boot loop. Sooo, I reinstalled stock firmware, but now my SIM card won't read. Any ideas of what could be causing this?
I realize I should have unlocked the bootloader but, well, oops.
I ended up reinstalling the stock firmware using the LGNPST setup. I tried two separate files, the .tot's for ICS and JB, but the problem persisted.
My phone still knows it's IMEI # and although I've tried multiple SIM cards, my phone couldn't read any of them. I have a SIM card that wasn't working in my E970 in my backup phone and it's connecting to the network just fine.
I downloaded a SIM utility from the Android market, and even if I insert a SIM card, the utility just says that the card is "Absent".

I just got this phone brand new a couple of days ago(P769 model). Everything seems to be working fine, except that sometimes when I try to send a text over wifi calling, I get an error message that says "No usim card". So far resetting the phone each time I get the message has fixed the problem and allowed me to text, but it seems like the type of thing that will only get worse and more frequent as time goes by on top of it being mildly annoying having to reset my phone every time this happens. Any ideas on how to fix? I tried swapping out my old sim card for a new one, but that didn't help.
Never heard about such error. USIM is simpy a SIM card supporting UMTS with no software emulation. Try emergency firmware recovery from LG PC Suite. It will wipe all your data so make a backup if needed.

Do I need to download a specific version of LG PC Suite for the 769. I couldn't find a link to it on LG's website. I tried downloading the version they had linked to the 765, but my phone would never connect with it. It would say it was connecting for about 30 seconds, and then it would say it failed.
You can use this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2085344&highlight=lgmobile+support+tool
Or just download LGMobile Support Tool (p. 3 in above post), install msxml.msi than B2CAppSetup.exe, run it and connect the phone, upgrade recovery from options. I was recovering my phone this way after failed rooting of the device. BTW PC Suite should work with all p76x.
I have a galaxy note i717r. I have been having troubles with the sim card not being recognized at all. I purchased a new sim tray complete with sd card slot. I replaced it and it seemed to work. After two days however the phone once again said No Sim. I purchased yet another sim card tray and tried that but wasnt able to solve the error at all this time. Please help if you know of the solution.
ps: I have also reformatted, reinstalled firmware, rooted it and tried titanium backup fix, and installed "vanilla" firmware to see if that would help. Nothing fixed it.
Good Luck

I just went through this same problem. After I replaced the SD reader my phone still didn't work, so on a last-ditch effort I used the KIES utility available at KIES -> Tools -> Firmware Upgrade and Initiation. This reset to the phone to full factory specs, just AT&T's updated android JellyBean 4.1.2. This worked and I was able to see my SIM card and get on the AT&T network.
Of course, afterwards I had to reroot and reload all custom software.
If you do this, make sure you have the latest version of KIES.
Good luck
Hi Everyone,
This is my first thread..I need some help with problem.....
My phone continuously restarts when it tries to find a GSM network. Phone has no issues with WIFI/Bluetooth as it perfectly works when the SIM is not inserted. It started when I was using my google maps and enabled GPS on my phone...the phone got heated up and shutdown...since then when ever i insert a SIM it restarts....but also during my experiments i found my phone is stable and accepts the SIM when its connected to a charger !!!!!
Steps Tried:
Reset settings and restore to factory defaults
Tried to repair with SEUS/ PC Companion
Update to ICS
Reinstalled ICS
Unlock boot loader, root and install CM10 nightly coconut
Tried a different SIM also different vendor.
Took phone to Sony service center they are unable to diagnose the issue
Any know any tshoot please help
