Not sure if anyone has a use for it, but this is the GPS Mapping/Navigation program that comes bundled with Telstra Pre-Paid Wildfire phones in Australia, ripped from the NAND in original APK. The advantage of this application is that, if you are on Pre-Paid Telstra, the network usage does not count towards your data. You can use it even if you're flat broke on credit Will probably work for Telstra Post-Paid customers too I assume. So if you are with Telstra, and use custom ROM, this will be good to have.
Note that this program will NOT work AT ALL over either WiFi OR non-Telstra SIM cards. You will get a "Could not verify your account" error if your SIM Data Connection is disabled.
I have tested this working on my Wildfire with SUnAaBh (Froyo) ROM.
http://jonus.me/share/xda-developers.com/WhereIs_Navigator_v6.0.8.zip
How do I go about loading the package didn't unzip to an APK so its my first time loading a non apk package.
I have flashed my Telstra Galaxy S with XXJPU and interested to see if I could use whereis for speed alerts?
Thanks for posting!
I'm pretty sure you have to flash it. oops my bad, just unzip it and install =D
No, it's a ZIP file- unzip it - there is an APK in there. Install normally... Works fine on my CM7-RC1 Wildfire.
I am not sure if WhereIs has speed alerts, because the turn-by-turn navigation is a premium feature (you have to pay an extra fee via My Bigpond) and I don't have any use for that so I don't know.

I've just flashed to the Official WM6 (Dopodasia)(thanks to Mrvanx's guide) and all has gone well except I've lost the Web'n'walk tray icon. I need it to access the t-zones content - the mobile TV etc.
I can access the internet ok by manually configuring but the t-zones bit is being a pain!
Does anyone have a .cab file with the necessary t-mobile UK settings/tray icon etc?
Thanks in advance.
Ive just gone to T-Mobile but using an Orange handset, and dont have webnwalk icon, but Im sure its just a shortuct/favourite to their website...
Ill check on another t-mobile phone and see what address it goes to...
Although after a quick google, im not sure... I will need to find out myself, for my phone too...
Found this...

How do I access t-zones?
T-Mobile customers can access t-zones through their T-Mobile phone or device or through their personal Web portal at My T-Mobile. Those who are not yet T-Mobile customers can see what is available at www.t-zones.com or T-Mobile.com.

Thanks for your help but when I navigate to tzones.co.uk the tab for mobile TV is missing - it should look like this

But it looks like this
http://surf.yospace.com/mda/
(these are just examples of how my browser looks - I'm not using those phones !)
But does it mean that my Vario is not capable of recieving the mobile TV like the above MDA isn't?
Arggghhh...
I see...!!
May be worth ringing them, saying you have a sim free (unbranded phone) you are using and see what they say.. afterall many people buy there phones which can be used on any network...
Im in a similar position too.. may call them up later!!

Hi, excuse me my english, i am from Venezuela, i can flash my Titan with Titan Reloaded 1.42b2 it works fine , but i can't use Evdo data service, i can connect but i can't open a web or use MSN, before i tested others Roms and i can use my service data anyone know about this:
"Remember to add your Carrier CAB after loading!! (well if you have data service anyways)
Link to dcd1182 Carriers cab's.. Thanks dcd..
DCD Carriers CABs"
I try with Verizon and sprint cab, but only happens the same, i check my epsc configuration with another phone and my dates are ok, any suggestion??
Who do you pay for your service?
I Can Pay with cards , the company name is Movilnet
Anyone can help me? or any idea? i really need use the EVDO service again, ther are other bugs in this ROMS i can't send files by bluethoot and Beam Neither.
Well, unfortunately, I do not have a good answer for you. DCD has never (as far as I can read through the forums) gotten his hands on a ROM from Movilnet. Since he hasn't gotten a ROM from them, he has not had a way of making a carrier cab for them. The only chance you have now is to hope and pray someone here has a Movilnet carrier cab. If they do not, you might have to return to the place you bought the phone and have them flash it back to the prebuilt carrier ROM. Then you will be able to extract the needed information for the carrier before overwriting it with a custom ROM.
Good luck!
Guys I'm totally new to smartphones so I need an advise. I would like to buy myself Moto Atrix but I don't want to buy a data plan for it. I plan on using Rogers pay-as-you-go voice sim card and use wifi for data. Is that even possible on the smartphone? Also I plan on using this phone in europe so question is would a pre paid voice sim work on this phone in europe? Oh and one more question if the voice sim with wifi for data would work would I be able to use all the internet apps on the phone or some would not work over wifi?
Thanks for your time
It is possible and a great way to save money. As long as rogers supports quad band GSM and not CMDA (like verizon), then you can use the voice and texting features of this phone all you wish.
Some things to note:
The phone must be unlocked and have some kind of wifi connection established to set up a motoblur account, (buy a used one not a new one).
Google Maps and navigation will not work unless you can find some kind of cacheing program.
Voice actions will not work, they require the google servers to process your voice.
Rogers may decide to change your service manually if they are like At&t. Check out other GSM networks if they try to do this to you.
Thanks for a quick reply. Now why should I buy a used phone? I think right now new/used prices are close. Also would google maps work in a wifi hotspot? I know that I can't use it unless I'm in the wifi hotspot. The same thing with voice commands souldn't they work as long as I'm in the wifi hotspot? I plan on using CoPilot software on the phone so I guess I wouldn't need any data connection for that right?
Thanks
If you are in a wifi hotspot, your phone will work identically to a phone with a data plan. You must buy it used because to activate moto blur initially, you must have a data connetion (data plan) to sign in, or else it wont let you continue (You cannot enable wifi yet).
Oh I didn't know about motoblur account. Is there a way around that by rooting the phone? What about using my firends sim with data to do that?
I think the process fails and then it'll ask you if you want to connect via wifi..no need for a data connection..

No it's not true. I signed up a motoblur account over the WiFi. I bought mine at costco.com as an upgrade to my original ATT HTC Fuze and I do not have a data plan.
Sean
you can make a blur account on the internet from a real computer
Just add data and quit being cheap. They make basic phones for people who don't see the value in paying for internet.

I’ve figured out a way to get tethering to work once with my Lumia 920 on ATT.
The below process has to be repeated every time so it is not really a solution but may help somebody smarter figure out a solution.
Insert ATT SIM
Enable internet sharing (fails with call ATT message)
Insert Vodfone SIM ( I assume any non active sim will work, this one is from an old blackberry )
Enable internet sharing (fails)
Insert ATT SIM
Enable internet sharing (works!)
Only works once though, when you disable and re-enable it goes back to the call ATT message.
Somebody needs to jailbreak this phone so we can change whatever registry setting is causing this.
I'm able to use tethering on my ATT 920 using the access point app, I just re-added the APN settings and that's it
note: I'm using it on a non ATT network

It is known this works fine on other networks if you manage to unlock the 920.
What people want to do is get tethering working on AT&T. It's basically impossible, though. It quickly loads the APN settings when there is an AT&T SIM, and that includes checking the tethering entitlement. We have no registry access so we can't change this behavior, even with the Access Point app. You could on WP7 devices if you had registry access, the same modification should work if there ever is a way to get registry access on WP8.
I tried AT&T ROM, Rogers ROM, and Euro Dev ROM. All of them checked entitlement and told me to call AT&T. I was able to get the Rogers ROM to tether once on first bootup, probably due to the same quirk that allows it to work the way the OP described. Overall it's not a very feasible solution, especially since opening the SIM slot is a pain on the 920. Tethering is one reason why my 920 has been relegated to being a secondary phone and why I use my GN2. Even though I don't really like Android, it is easily modified to allow tethering whether AT&T is happy about it or not.
Ok I understand.
Sidenote: How did you manage to install a non AT&T ROM? I always get the FFU device id mismatch when trying to put a non AT&T rom on the phone.

NCS will allow you to flash the Rogers pre-portico ROM. You can now flash Rogers and Euro ROMs, not sure about AT&T. From there you use the built in upgrade functionality to get Portico. Once you have portico NCS will let you flash Rogers Portico and Euro Portico ROMs. But I was not able to get back to pre-portico or to AT&T from there. I was flashing a 920 with a defective proximity sensor that I mailed back to AT&T the next day, so it didn't really matter.
LTE connectivity was giving issues with non-AT&T ROM. Rogers ROM took a while to connect to LTE (much longer than AT&T ROM) and the Euro ROM never really seemed to connect to LTE.

Proof of Concept:
Sprint LG G3's that have been flashed to Sprint legacy accounts such as SERO or Sprint MVNO's such as Boost, Virgin Mobile, Ting, etc. suffer from the fact that you can't launch Update Profile / Update PRL unless the phone has been previously activated in a Sprint LTE account. If the phone has been factory reset using ##786#, the user will also lose the ability to run Update Profile/PRL. As a side effect, you will also get a Hands Free Activation nag each time you turn on/reboot your phone. Disabling/freezing certain apk's to fix the HFA nag unfortunately breaks the phone's ability to run Update Profile & PRL as well. The fix below gets rid of the HFA nag and enables Update Profile & PRL on flashed Sprint LG G3 phones and brings back missing Sprint Apps such as Wi-Fi Calling, Sprint Zone, etc. and missing Sprint boot animation.

What good is running Update Profile anyway?
1) This will automatically correct your MDN and MIN settings on your phone if they were flashed incorrectly.
2) This will automatically correct the Profile 1 (or Profile 2) username and AAA key to get your 3G working.
This fix assumes the following:
1) You have a rooted phone. I've only tested on a stock rooted 4.4.2 ROM.
2) (optional) You have access to another Sprint LG G3 in which Update Profile/PRL already works. Let's call this phone "SOURCE". In theory once you have the appropriate files from "SOURCE", you can use these same files over and over.
3) You're looking to get Update Profile/PRL to work on another phone that is already flashed to Sprint (or Sprint MVNO). This will not work for any other provider! Let's call this phone "TARGET".
4) You have a spare microSD card to transfer files between "SOURCE" and "TARGET" phones.
5) You have flashed your "TARGET" phone's MDN and MIN using DFS, CDMA Workshop, etc.
6) You have flashed your "TARGET" phone's Profile 0 and Profile 1 using DFS, CDMA Workshop, etc.
7) Profile 0 must be accurately flashed. Profile 1's username can be flashed using a bogus value such as "[email protected]" if you do not know the actual username.
8) If you removed/disabled/froze system apk's / apps in your phone to get rid of the Hands Free Activation nag previously, make sure you put these back in their original state.
9) You have the ability to reflash your LG G3 back to Boost, Ting, Virgin Mobile, etc. in case your flash gets wiped out cuz you didn't follow the directions closely.
Steps to fix Update Profile / Update PRL: (idea is to copy SOURCE phone's /carrier directory to TARGET phone)
1) Use a root-enabled file explorer app such as Root Explorer or ES File Explorer to backup the /carrier directory from your "TARGET" phone to a microSD card.
2) Rename this /carrier folder in the microSD card to something like /carrierBackup.
3) Use the file explorer app to copy the /carrier directory from your "SOURCE" phone to the microSD card as well. Insert this microSD card to your "TARGET" phone.
4) Copy the contents of /carrier directory from microSD card to your "TARGET" phone. Overwrite the files that may already exist in your "TARGET" phone's /carrier directory.
5) Reboot the "TARGET" phone.
6) Run "Update Profile" or "Update PRL".
7) Done.
OR...Instead of doing steps 3 and 4, simply use ES File Explorer to unzip contents of attached "carrier folder LG G3.zip" in a temp folder, then copy the contents of /carrier from the zip to the /carrier of your Sprint LG G3. Make sure the file/folder permissions match those in the screenshots contained in the screenshots folder in the zip file.
Pay attention to the content in the screenshots as well as file/folder permissions to make sure they match!
Reboot the phone and perform an Update Profile.
Give it a try and let me know if it worked for you.

First off thank you for an informative post. Was a pain in the ass to get all those permissions setup but still those screen shots helped immensely. I followed instructions to the dot and I did get it to finally show Wifi Calling and more importantly to me Wifi Tethering. BUT whenever I tether it tells me I don't have the service as part of my plan or something to that effect. I had followed the native sprint tethering hack posted here.
Did the tethering hack work for you before applying the /carrier folder fix?
Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
nope as I was never able to see the apn's to change them before this. I think its because I had "fixed" the esn on the phone as I have a SERO plan which doesnt include LTE and the tethering fix require LTE. Atleast thats what I think from my searching.
Perhaps you may have better luck with 3rd party wifi hotspot apps such as FoxFi.

Getting kicked out of your old Sprint plan may be a good thing. I've decided to switch to Cricket, which is owned and operated by AT&T. Their basic plan includes unlimited voice, SMS, MMS, and data (1st 2.5gb per month is throttled to 8mbps, after that, it's throttled down to 128kbps for the rest of the month) for $100/mo including taxes and fees for 5 phone lines.
Better coverage, speed, and lower rates. I haven't looked back.

Alpineman,
Is there any chance you still have the MSL/SPC code for this carrier folder. I used this on a LG G4 and got the sprint animation/wifi calling icon to appear, but it wipe out my phone info(prl, phone #, baseband). It looks like everything is not reading from the NVItem. I looked through DFS and the values are all there, its like its not reading from the NVItem. I tried doing RTN reset, but it ask for a SPC code that is not mine.
I was wondering if anyone had the Carrier folder for a LS980? I have mine setup on SERO and working ok but would still like the wifi tethering, sprint animation, and stuff if anyone has that available? Or will this LG G3 version work on the Spring LG G2?
Thanks!
The process worked but unfortunately when i try to do any of the updates i get "authentication error. Please try again later" , this is a pretty big problem for me because i have a fancy piece of hardware that can only take GSM signal and WIFI, it does not seem to be able to connect to DATA, and everytime i flash the phone to its factory system it wipes the IMEI and MEID, although i can get an IMEI from another phone i cannot restore the MEID, but i dont know if this is the cause of my DATA issue, any sugestions?
Team,
This is my case i got the phone unlocked to telcel mexico i only got 2g speed, my question is if i change the PRL,MODEM it will detect more speed? i already try add the bands by DFS TOOL and NVmanager but phone dont detect 3g or 4G....
Its can be applied to LG G4 LS991 ZV6?
I have trouble flash TOT, now has no mobile data just call, sms & wifi only..
