did you installed busybox from market or somewhere else?
stricktly follow the instructions and everything will be fine. Maybe there are some files on your SD card which couse the same bug. But if you do everything right it must work.

Can I format the SD card without it ruining my phone?
will this mean i loose root access or anything like that?
Will the phone itself index the SD card with folders that it needs?
--
asking since im unable to repair the phone using Sony Ericsson PC Companion 2.0.
but am able to reinstall the firmware using seus.
well i just tried it out, formatting the card seems to work fine, looks like the phone itself creates the folders it needs when it needs it.
not sure how i can see if the phone is still rooted, since superuser and all that is removed from the sd card now.
---new---
so if anyone could tell me a way to see if the phone is rooted it would be much helpfull.
and could someone say how cellphone repaire shops see if the phone is rooted
try to install superuser.apk and a terminal and then type su in the terminal, if you get #, then your phone is still rooted. but i think it'll be rooted, but the only thing you're missing is the superuser app
okay.
I´m asking since im selling the phone, and the guy would like it unrooted.
so atm it´s as unrooted as possible ? since we got no recovery for it yet.
We do have recovery, just not custom recovery.
Use either PC Companion or SEUS, plug in the phone, select Update, it'll tell you that you have the latest version already, but there should be an option to force the update / repair, which should put you back to the default firmware without any mods

---tried on a different pc and it worked :S
Im having some issues with my x10i that i put Nordic 2.1 on a few weeks ago.
Some apps fail to open every now and then, and the stock android alarm doesnt work (the app seems fine, but when the alarm goes off there is no noise, yes ive tried volume etc, yes ive tried downloading a 3rd party alarm)
So id like to put a fresh 2.1 rom on, ive tried these:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=825675
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=827065
But i cant get them to work, the .bat files of the flasher fail at the connection stage (2nd step after selecting windows vr)
Im having a lot of problems,, main one is that i cant install the driver for the x10 in flash mode, windows cant find the driver.
If anyone could kindly tell me exactly what i have to do, starting from connecting the x10 to a virgin win xp (no drivers installed for the x10), id be happy to donate $20USD into your paypal account
Ok let me see if I can help you a title here....
1. Root your device using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=453551&d=1291188836 its really simple and fast...
2. Once you've root your device use this application http://www.mediafire.com/?ewf9e41ybw2eazz
to install the Xrecovery menu on your phone... It's very simple as well....
3. Download this file http://hotfile.com/dl/87564842/7e80127/SE_update-shipped-full.zip.html
and save it to your SD Card into any folder you want, I recommend you to do it in a new one with any name you want, that will make easier the next step...
4. Reboot your phone and right after the white letters with Sony Ericsson logo appear press the back key a few times , if the Xrecovery menu has been installed correctly you will see a weird image of and Android with troll face lol... and a bunch of options like reboot, install update zip etc....
5. Choose Install Custom Zip and then go to the folder you created with the downloaded zip file... from step 3... Then select it and click in yes... Wait for a few minutes and when the phone tells you done click on reboot and wait for the firmware to load...
6. Enjoy the SE 2.1 firmware with JIT enabled.
7. Read your inbox...

Put XP in safemode, run seus, put phone in flashmode when prompted so it installs the drivers, try the flashtool again, while in safemode on XP.
Or if you'd rather go for something simpler.. try rooting (if you haven't already) then follow this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=828163 to flash to global generic.
i cant even get the phone to tunr on atm, but if i get it to work ill send $20 ur way jimbo, thanks everyone
jimbo, actually your links are broken so i cant follow your guide cause u just say "use this application" - but link is down
ok, i found a new link for that one, but i cant install it cause when i connect my phone to the pc, it just starts charging, it wont mount the sd??
"If anyone could kindly tell me exactly what i have to do, starting from connecting the x10 to a virgin win xp..."
ok i put xrecovery on the sd card through a pc, installed the app and ran the app, clicked Install Xrevovery, error
already have root access, xreovery was granted superuser, but doesnt work
tried the new root app just in case, it just switched off my phone... none of this works
does anyone live in Sydney and can do it for me????
Have you installed BusyBox too?
The thing is.... I have a X10 mini pro (Android 2.1), and I was trying to install Gingerbread Theme on it (Following this steps: aliwaqas.info/install-android-2-3-gingerbread-on-xperia-x10-mini-pro/) I did everything on the right order. But now it doesn't stop rebooting and rebooting and rebooting , please tell me how fix it!!! (like "for dummies" steps). I'll be so grateful
Thanks!
I'm new on this things.................... you realized on that already
your mini is bricked like mine 3 weeks ago. I try to flash it with flasher by bin4ry and using a nordic firmware and it seemed to work.
Then I have other issues I took it to the service center
I used PC Companion to reinstall the system. At first the pc did not recognized the mini (cause it was rebooting), but in the manual says that with a 50% it would work anyway, so it was easy, but I lost all my information, but it was a risk.
Thank you for the help.
my step, just repair it with PC Companion first
run the PC Companion, choose update, it will show repair option
it will download the necessary data. wait for it, it will then show you how to set your device so it can be flashed by the application.
Hi All,
I rooted the phone using z4mod, no problems.
I extracted the three files chargemon, busybox, xrecovery.tar and copied them using Root Explorer, set 777 permissions.
Phone rebooted okay, but holding back button few times after SE logo wasn't working, Re-installed Busybox from /system/xbin to /system/bin and now when phone is turned on, it comes up to Sony Ericsson then to the SE Logo screen, then it reboots back to Sony Ericsson and it does this continually until I pull battery out.
Is this fixable and please how do I go about it and if there is a thread already about this can I be directed to that page.
Thank You,
Jim

Thanks, but that didn't work, it was failing as the phone does reboot itself in a continual loop. I used the PC Software companion and performed a repair. All fixed. So I will start again. I have found the xrecovery.apk since, I will see how this goes.
Have installed the xrecovery with the three green ticks. Phone still won't boot into xrecovery. At least it boots okay now, just not into xrecovery pressing the back button.
My firmware is 2.0.x.x.x, does this need to be updated to 2.1.1.x.x?
Or is there a thread here that explains how to do this?
Thanks,

Automated script i used to root and install xrecovery on my phone:

credits Mikehvl
just close the SuperOneClick window if you have rooted your phone when it pops up and continue following the instructions.
You are a legend, that actually worked.
I tried so many other ways, and the xRecovery gave me the three green ticks, etc. Still couldn't boot into it, so I used your script and it works fine.
Can I ask what was I doing wrong?
Was it maybe I was using the incorrect version of xRecovery? I tried .02a and .02b, .03, none of those worked.
Thank you, you just made it too easy.
My phone is actually 2.0.A.0.504 U20A. Now to try some ROMS if I can find any for U20a.

Could have been a permissions problem, a busybox problem, I have no clue lol. In terms of roms, the custom roms are generic so they work for the u20a. I currently use CM6 3.4 and love it.

HELP!!! x10minipro xcyanogen v3.4 launcher pro crashing!
I have just rooted my phone and installed xcyanogen v3.4 for the x10mini pro.
Everything worked fine, I have even managed to go into xRecovery after the installation and reinstalled xcyanogen three times.
This morning, I updated my Busybox from busybox installer from Market. Installed V1.19 busybox, I guess the previous one installed with cynogenmod6 was v1.15 then
*The phone reboots suddenly, and hence after
*I only have an Unlock screen that works, displaying clock, charging stats etc with NO SIGNALS
*If i unlock the screen, it will have a DSOmanager force close window followed by unlimited LauncherPro force close windows
*I am UNABLE to go into xRecovery to reinstall the system, unalbe to do anything now.
I am a newbie, any pros would help me pls? Thanks so much!
I say mate if you can't get back into xRecovery you migh need to flash the phone.
Let's hope someone else here has an easier solution for you dude.
I had to reflash mine when it was rebooting itself.
So I am new here. Sorry if I am a noob or something. But I rooted my phone, installed busybox, installed xrecovery, which won't start . Tried all 0.1 ,0.2 , 0.3 versions, none works. so I thought I could do it manually. Copied lib and bin files, but didn't find the build file. So I did only this. And then installed a app which needed rebooting, and it stuck. Sometimes it doesn't start at all and sometimes it reboot on itself. Tried the PC companion help, but it can't even connect . Do I still have hope? What can I try? Can you give me a step by step guide, since I am noob
DId you try Flashtool? Download v0.2.9 from here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=826455) and then install the correct firmware, which I can find for you if you tell me if it's mini pro or only mini
I think I flashed it. I have mini, not pro. Sorry didn't say it at first.
P.S. GO pocket legends
Did you get it working?

It should "always" be reflashable with SEUS. Sony Ericsson Update Service.
Thanks to both of you. SEUS worked now the phone is OK.
glad you made it works
You must try AIO
