Yo
I downloaded awd ex. Pretty awesome.
But.now I fell in love w organizing my desktop...
What im trying to do is delete the icon text. I want my desktop clean, and only icons. No text.
Awd let's me edit and delete. But I wanted to know if there's an option im missing. Or app that will automatically make my icons w. Now text.
Also. How can I go about this w widgets ( this is the main reason I made this topic)
Anycut 2 tells me I can't leave the text blank.
And if I make it and ignore that message.... awd crashes and I need to reinstall it.
Let me knowww

The specific issue you're talking about has nothing to do with rooting the phone. It has to do with a setting inside of ADW.
Go to your homescreen, hit the menu key, and hit "ADW Settings". Go to the "Screen Preferences" section and check 'Hide icon labels'. Then hit back, and go back out of the menu.
You might need to reboot for it to take effect.

[UPDATE] I have redid the dock a little removed the F from the dock background so it does not look odd if your using the scrolling dock feature. I have also added more buttons to the zip for most of the standard applications that you would find on your phone.
I did not have much to do at work today so I made this custom dock for my phone and thought I would share it with you all. I tired to stick with the pure black and white look that team whiskey loves so much.
In the zip you will find a standard set of icons and the dock. I have also included the photoshop files so anyone can make there own buttons or change the dock.

To install unzip and place folder somewhere on your phone.
Then go to Menu -> Perfernces -> Appearance Settings
Select Dock background then choose custom.
It will open the gallery find and select the Fusion-Dock.png.
Now on the home screen press and hold on a icon on the dock a menu will pop up. Select Change icon then select custom icon, it will open the gallery again select the icon you wish to use from the pack.
That is it.

If you want the icons to be fully replaced even in the app drawer, search google for apk manager. Read up on how to use it. It will allow you to extract (you do not need to decompile it for this job), replace the icon in the res/drawable or res/drawable-hdpi folder, then rezip the apk then resign it. Once you do that you either use adb push or root explorer to put the apk wherever its supposed to go. If its a system app it goes in system/app if its regular it goes in data/app

I installed SenseLauncher.apk and got it on the home-screen. However, when I drag an app on the LAB or RAB, the app icon is shown over the theme icons! e.g. I tried to drag the Dialer app onto the Phone button, but I got the Dialer icon on top of the Phone icon! I checked in the settings but could find anything to hide the overlaying icons. Please help.
@OP: How did you get the + sign next to the Phone button?

I have the touchwiz toggles and I love them. However I keep forgetting to turn my GPS off when I am done using it.
It's there a simple app that adds a widget to my home screen to tell me whether or not it is switched on?
Doesn't need to be a toggle just an indicator

why would you bother turning it on and off all the time?
there are a lot of programs that might need your location to work properly, plus its a PITA to constantly turn it on and off..
there are plenty of market widgets that allow you to turn that off and other things, plus, some roms have that ability in their pull down menus
For one thing it's murder on your battery.
And I have a great toggle in my pull down menu, I just want an icon on my actual home screen to remind me when it's left on

I leave my GPS and Wifi on all the time. I still get 10-16 hours of battery life. This way, when I get home or in any previously used Wifi it switches over automatically. Plus, launching any GPS related apps proves much quicker.

"murder"?
don't think so...
besides, why did you buy a full featured, smart phone, if you aren't going to utilize all that it offers?
as others have said, I still get a full day on my battery, and have tons of stuff running all the time.
Your GPS is only actually on when an app requests it. When its on there's an icon to show you its on and searching or on and fixed.
I use tasker to automatically enable the GPS whenever I launch an app that would use it and then disable GPS when the app is closed.

Hey guys,
Please show your home screen setup and any mods that you guys use.
Since day one I have been using
. Nova launcher premium
. Zooper widgets
. Min arch mod for zooper
I use quick gesture from nova which I found really useful with the current setting: Double tap to launch app that turn off and lock screen, one finger swipe down to bring down notification, and one finger swipe up to bring up recent app.
Interested to know what other mods you guys are using that make your G2 your own.
