I have the touchwiz toggles and I love them. However I keep forgetting to turn my GPS off when I am done using it.
It's there a simple app that adds a widget to my home screen to tell me whether or not it is switched on?
Doesn't need to be a toggle just an indicator

why would you bother turning it on and off all the time?
there are a lot of programs that might need your location to work properly, plus its a PITA to constantly turn it on and off..
there are plenty of market widgets that allow you to turn that off and other things, plus, some roms have that ability in their pull down menus
For one thing it's murder on your battery.
And I have a great toggle in my pull down menu, I just want an icon on my actual home screen to remind me when it's left on

I leave my GPS and Wifi on all the time. I still get 10-16 hours of battery life. This way, when I get home or in any previously used Wifi it switches over automatically. Plus, launching any GPS related apps proves much quicker.

"murder"?
don't think so...
besides, why did you buy a full featured, smart phone, if you aren't going to utilize all that it offers?
as others have said, I still get a full day on my battery, and have tons of stuff running all the time.
Your GPS is only actually on when an app requests it. When its on there's an icon to show you its on and searching or on and fixed.
I use tasker to automatically enable the GPS whenever I launch an app that would use it and then disable GPS when the app is closed.

But.now I fell in love w organizing my desktop...
What im trying to do is delete the icon text. I want my desktop clean, and only icons. No text.
Awd let's me edit and delete. But I wanted to know if there's an option im missing. Or app that will automatically make my icons w. Now text.
Also. How can I go about this w widgets ( this is the main reason I made this topic)
Anycut 2 tells me I can't leave the text blank.
And if I make it and ignore that message.... awd crashes and I need to reinstall it.
Let me knowww

The specific issue you're talking about has nothing to do with rooting the phone. It has to do with a setting inside of ADW.
Go to your homescreen, hit the menu key, and hit "ADW Settings". Go to the "Screen Preferences" section and check 'Hide icon labels'. Then hit back, and go back out of the menu.
You might need to reboot for it to take effect.

You could probably take apart your key fob and put one in there.

Love NFC. Using it with NFC Task Laucher app. Have one tag in my car to turn on GPS and increase volume via Tasker app. Another on my Stand next to my bed to put my phone into "sleep mode"...turns down the volume and disables data/syncing to save battery while I'm sleeping. I bought my tags from tagstand.com. They cost me about $1 a tag.
Just got some of the round disk kind. I thought the sticky ones were pretty flimsy. These are like cardboard disks. Figured they would stand up to time and reuse. Don't know what much to do with them yet. I did one to toggle wifi, bluetooth, and gps in the car.

Thanks so much

This may sound rediculous but I notice somedays my battery runs down a lot quicker than other days. Doesnt make sense but thats how it seems to me. Are you using the cable that came with the phone and plugging into a wall outlet?
3g eats a lot more battery from what I have seen...LTE and Wifi are the easiest on battery. That being said I still don't think 3g should be causing that much drain...I bet you have a rogue app since the app usage shows 50%

Download better battery stats and grant it super user rights. Let your phone sit for a couple hours (without touching it) and pay your read out from it here. It seems like you have an app going crazy, but just simply looking at your installed apps won't help.

how many hours of screen usage on 4g do you get?
Thanks
Open it to grant super user. Then let your phone sit for at least an hour or two. It's best overnight. Then post your kernel wake lock, partial wake locks and alarms.
Sent from my SCH-I605 (AKA NOTE 2)
You had the phone on for 9hrs and only dropped to 93%? Why r u complaining.? 40 minutes screen time at 93% after 9hrs off charger isn't bad at all. If I'm seeing that right.
thats correct, but while using it for a straight 60mins, it drops over 15%
