Hello everyone.
How do I determine if I correctly installed the dual touch properly?
I used the dummies guide and flashed it successfully, but how do i know if its working?
The kernel information in the about phone section did not change.
The flash tool stated the kernel.sin was indeed successfully flashed.
I am running Z's froyo 2.2.1 beta 3 with hotfix1.
try open your browser and pinching the zoom like in iPhone.
If it works, DT works.
open gallery, pick picture then zoom the picture...and of course using 2 fingers...
what about downloading 'multi touch test' from the apps market.
initially i wasn't able to check if it was done so i had this installed and it seems to work.
when browsing facebook pics, the dual touch should work
for games with dual touch should work.
for mine, i wasn't able to do root explorer editing, so my mediascape, browser aren't dual touch.
ye, just download a test app from market or try it in ur browser or google maps
The only place its not working for me is the browser. The test worked and the gallery test worked. why not the browser

Between Opera and native one, I choose Opera. It's more speedy over EDGE or 3G. I haven't try Dolphin.
thank you my friend, i ll try those 3 and write a review soon
opera ftw the best and fastest browser

So, what do you guys think is the best web browser for the X10 mini??
Personally, i use Dolphin Browser, but i find that it's a bit slow sometimes.
What do you guys use and why?
Opera Mini
Or
Skyfire
I prefer Opera Mini 5.
i am still in doubt of which browser to use. normally i use opera on the street because i know it compresses content, which saves my 3g plan.
when at home, i normally use the native browser, though i think it is a bit slower than i 'd like. skyfire seems nice also, but the only feature that really attracts me to it currently is the flash video conversion thingy. if skyfire was able to compress data like opera, it would be perfect
for speed xscope (1.6 version)
how do you guys run dolphin? whenever i tap the screen the page zooms in, making it virtually unusable on the mini (and yes i did try the non hd edition).

I agree fully to this and this is the reason I uninstalled the app. Can anybody elaborate zooming?

Same thing for me, and would like to know why too, so if someone have an idea ... Thx
Was wondering if anyone is able to email xscope lite to me? Or redirect me to an external link? I'm not able to find it on the Market. Cheers.

+1 Opera Mini
Opera Mini FTW
Eh, dude, skyfire use compression data like Opera mini, in fact, from a brief survey, I say Skyfire is faster than Opera mini.
Opera mini is the best...
I actually use the stock browser, opera mini and skyfire depending on the pages I visit. Opera for general browsing, though for me a lot of times it doesn't handle signing into sites very well, which the stock browser does quite well. Skyfire for videos. Though I would really like all of them to stop asking to be made the default one.

+1 Stock , fast and clean
Edit : Ouch, I was wondering where this comment went. This was supposed to go to the touch pal Dialer threat.
Anyway, since I'm here, what the heck. I'm using Xscope right now. Its interface is a lot better than others and it has pin to zoom which is the closet thing we get to one touch zoom in the album. But I'm also keeping skyfire around to fire up its video capability if I ever need to.
It depends on each persons personal needs. Nothing wrong in the stock browser , SE has done quite well in bringing out the best from donut

Can you even cut and paste in the stock browser?
I like the stock browser but there's just a few little annoying things that forces me to use other browsers from time to time.
If its something that I wanna cut&paste then ill use either my desktop or my other phone ! Browsing is not very easy thing on the mini's even if you have a different browser. Just not worth it. Screen size kills user experience

I was watching youtube videos on my nc today and realized how perfect the 7 inch screen would be for hulu
Anyone know if this exists?
Thanks

Sortof . There's an app called DroidTV which plays Hulu eps. You tell it what episodes you want to watch and then a couple of days later they're on your device. TV.com also has some episodes.
Hulu will eventually have a app with hulu plus(monthly fee). The app was demo'd at CES on the 7th. Netflix will also be coming "to selected devices".
I'm buying my NC this weekend. I was able to get Hulu to work on my rooted Vibrant running 2.2 by using DolphinHD and changing the format in settings to desktop instead of android. Then hulu just thought I was on my PC. Does this work with the NC?
The stock Nook Android version is 2.1. With that being said we do not have a full working Flash (which is required for Hulu's site.)
If we were on on 2.2 and had Flash, that would work in theory.

i dont think the version of flash froyo is at the upgraded state for hulu
Some have Froyo on the Nook (I mean on not on the SD card). it is close although I can't get Flash to work yet.
If u burned froyo to internal memory just install dolphin hd and flash player 10.1 and it works

It works? With Hulu? I know I can get hulu to play on my Droid X, but only with a hex edited version of flash installed. I just installed Froyo on a dual boot, I'll have to give it a try and report back.
I have internal froyo running fine. Flash with dolphin hd wont work. What are your settings?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Had it working on 0.5.9 when I was running a dual boot.
Just get the flashfixed.apk (I found it on the EVO forum), uninstall whatever version of flash you currently have, and install the hex edited one. Then when you go to the site (in the stock browser) type about:debug in the address bar and hit enter. This will not navigate you away from the page you are on, but when you go into settings there will be a bunch of new options. Scroll down to the bottom and make sure UA String is set to desktop. You should be able to watch hulu videos through the browser now (if you were already at hulu reload the page).
I didn't really play with it much, just wanted to see if it worked. Hulu app never worked for me though, but I didn't have any demon voices. Playback was choppy, but I was on hotspot with my Droid X so I didn't have a lot of bandwidth.
Also if you do this make sure that flash is set to not autoupdate in the market, it will kill your hulu.
Here is a link that I think might help people looking to get hulu working http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=948320

What's the difference between mini and hd, I run hd is it just better screen graphics?
Don't know exactly but mini is way faster than hd
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
mini is faster, but I prefer the ui for HD better.
Just sliding my finger right opens up all my bookmarks and I do have many.
Aside from that, I'm not really sure of the differences.
I only used the mini and noticed that it lacked the address bar. So every time I wanted to type in an address, I had to open a new tab then enter address and even then it would just show the google result for that address. Now that I think about it, skyfire has an address bar but also just goes to google results. Maybe I'm missing something?
I chose Opera Mobile. Not because it was the fastest (it isn't), but simply because it was what I was most familiar with from the days when I had an LG Incite. I should try out some of the other browsers however, especially Firefox Mobile since I use Firefox on my laptops. The sync capability alone would make life easier.
I'm of the belief that speed isn't everything when it comes to a browser. Compatibility and ease of use are far more important. But, that's simply my point of view.
I think xscope pro is really goog
Just bought an X10 yesterday, with original 1.6 firmware. Then i updated through pc companion to 2.1.0.A.435, which is quite nice, especially for 720p recorder. However, I learned that the new version should come with multitouch and pinch-zoom, but it seems no pinch-zoom for viewing pictures in mediascape or in the internet browser. Is that normal?
I'm totally new to X10 and Andriod, hope experienced users here could give me some instruction. Thank you very much
You had to get 2.1 update1 for multi_touch try flashing your phone to a generic region search xda for it... hope this helped...

thanks. But my phone comes with sim-free, so it is not branded by any network operator. How do I check whether my phone is a generic region one or not?
by the way, if my version is not a genric region one, will my phone still be available to update to 2.3 later this summer?
1. It is normal that you can't pinch zoom in mediascape, but it should work in games and google maps (and browser of course). The .435 firmware is the one with dualtouch implemented.
2. I don't think your phone is branded since it comes with the .435 firmware, which is global generic.
At the lock screen press menu, back, back, menu, back, menu, menu, back. That should bring you into a service menu and you can check ur device there....

There is no pinch to zoom in Mediascape. To finger zoom within Mediascape, touch and hold and then swype up to zoom or down to unzoom.
I think pich zoom only works in browsers, some games and google maps. At other places you won't get it, but when I installed Arc launcher and photo viewer, in it pich to zoom works in Photo viewer/ gallery.
thank you guys.
Actually the pinch-zoom does not work in browsers as well

Do I need to download some other browsers?
It works fine in Opera, Skyfire and Dolphine
when i was on .435 (currently on 2.1.b.0.1) pinch to zoom was installed i didnt even install it myself, and it worked on all games that supported pinch zooming, it worked on the stock SE browser and worked on any app that supported pinch to zoom really..
maybe you should re-flash the rom with the flash tool.
I found it working for the dolphin browser but not the original browser. Anyway, now it seems fine to me. Thank you guys, really.
