SIM card removed: Please reboot Airplane Mode - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I own a Telus Galaxy S T959D. When I updated to Froyo through Kies I started having this problem. Whenever I turn off Airplane Mode a message pops up:
> SIM car removed
Sim Card Removed. Reboot Phone.
I've tried installing nero v5 to see if it would fix it, but same problem.
Any way this can be remedied?

Have you reseated and cleaned your sim just to make sure its truely not the sim card causing the issue?
Sent from a Galaxy S far....far....away.

Yeah. It doesn't seem like its the SIM card itself. The problem only comes up when put it in Airplane mode.

Hi akumasakana,
I'm receiving the same message, "Sim Card Removed. Reboot Phone." Have you fixed this problem? Thanks.

I too am receiving the same message and my Galaxy SGH-T959D (rec'd w/Froyo updated) was just bought/activated 10 days ago. It doesn't really seem to need a reboot as the data starts to flow again after about 1 minute after I set airplane mode off.
Can this be ignored?

[Q] Problem after upgrading to nordic 2.1

Upgraded to Nordic 2.1 as per forum, WORKING GREAT, only issue I have is that when I leave my phone sitting idle (unlock screen) it shows 'NO SIM' in phone briefly and then goes back to normal. Never did this with Donut 1.6, is this just a gremlin on my phone or are others getting the same?
Sorry to the mods if this is posted in the wrong place.....
This used to happen to me with 1.6, have not noticed with 2.1. Was usually when I unlock (screen) the phone...
seems to be ok when phone isnt idle, just sometimes when its idle its showing 'no sim' and no-one can phone or text me.
"No SIM card in phone"
I also get this when the screen goes off. It's as if the SIM Toolkit is stopped when the screen goes off, and is restarted once the phone is active.
Rogers x10
rooted
2.1
Have you guys tried removing the battery and sim, waiting 5secs and putting it back in and rebooting?

Yes, I just tried it. No effect.
It's almost like being phone-less. Can't put the phone in my pocket with the screen on, can't receive calls with the screen off. ps- Just drained the battery from leaving the screen on.
Hmm Im not sure what the problem may be. Since someone else mentioned they had experienced this on 1.6, I can't say its a possibility that the new firmware is having trouble reading an "old" sim card.
I just browsed through the phone and I see under Location & Security settings theres an option for sim card lock. Could there be a problem with the default config from flashing? It might be worth taking a look at.
"No SIM card in phone" - still
The Sim card lock is a feature to password-protect the sim card. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Can_a_sim_card_it_self_be_locked
I have not set that up.
I figured it had to do with the services running because after running a task killer for the first time, it killed the sim card. The phone automatically started the service again. This is what seems to be happening when the screen wakes.
If I could edit the services that go to sleep with the screen, that might work. If I know where that was.....

Ok, try removing the task killer and restarting the phone. If that what you said is true, maybe the task killer is the problem
"No SIM card in phone" SOLVED

I had been testing several task killers, One must have been always running in the background, even after killing all of them before setting the screen to sleep.
Uninstalled all task killers, restarted. Back to business.
Sometimes what seems most hidden is the most obvious.
Thanks for pointing out the connection kindred7.

[Q] Caesar A9600 - signal on/off regelmäßig

Hi there,
I have this Android chinese phone which was given to me as a present, no manual.
My problem is that the phone has two SIM slots and after I turn the device on, it boots and tells me that 1 SIM is missing. What happens after that is that it recognizes the SIM card in the other slot and connects to my mobile provider but the connection lasts couple of minutes and than I have no signal for a while. After some time, the connection to my mobile provider works again, but after another couple of minutes, there is no signal again.
I presume that the phone wants to switch to the other SIM which is not there.
How can I turn off this switching from one to another SIM?
Or do you have any other idea what could be causing this (regular) disconnection.
Does anybody know how to enter in boot mode (or any other mode where I could influence this switching between the cards.
The phone does not have any installed app which I could use to influence this SIM-switching.
Thanks for any help/advice

[Q] Xperia sola shuts down when sim inserted!

hi!!
my Xperia Sola shuts down automatically when i start my phone with sim inserted. I tried to restart the phone but once I key in my SIM Card passcode, the phone shuts down again. I repeatedly trying to switch on the phone but every single time I key in my SIM Card passcode, it shuts down.
Next, I removed the SIM Card and tried to switch on the phone and it was running perfectly FINE, without the SIM Card! I was able to connect to the WiFi, all apps running well, view photos and play music, just like how it was before.
Thus, I assumed that the phone is alright and again inserted the SIM Card and tried to start up the phone. Again the problem comes, once I entered my SIM Card passcode, the phone auto shuts down, without any warning or message, the screen just go blank. Tried for another 5 - 6 times but my attempts ended in vain.
To reconfirm, I took out the SIM Card and switch on the phone again and EVERYTHING is 100% fine!
In addition to this, i would like to make it clear that :
-my SIM Card works fine with other handphones and that
-inserting other SIM Cards into my Xperia Sola ended up with the same result.
Moreover, the Xperia Sola works perfectly fine WITHOUT a SIM Card.
it also works perfectly fine if
-I did not key in my SIM Card passcode and let it be in SIM Card LOCKED Mode.
-and perfectly fine in FLIGHT Mode
Please help. I am really anxious and frustrated regarding this issue

Sim card not detected

**Edit -this post is in the wrong forum - should be in AT&T One X (Evita). Feel free to delete **
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
My HTC One XL has had a problem with sim detection for a while. Occasionally it will not detect the SIM,but I could fix it by turning airplane mode on and off a couple of times. But it has become more persistent, and is now refusing to detect the sim. This is pretty annoying, as I have spend a lot of time and effort rooting etc.
If I pop the sim I get the SIM not inserted warning. If I then push the sim in, that warning disappears, but after a few seconds, the SIM detection error icon appears.
What I've tried:
It's not the SIM card. I also have a One X (quad core) and the sim works in that.
Tried the sim drawer from the other phone.
tape on the sim
nandroid restore
airplane mode cycling
Is there anything else I could try to bring this phone back to life? I don't want to root the One X, as I need an unrooted phone for certain banking apps that I use.

Sd card automatically eject, and 2nd sim card sometimes call ended

The title says it all. Heres a brief story
1st problem, i sometimes found out that my sd card ejects itself even if i dont use files under that storage.
2nd problem, i always use my 2nd sim for calls, any number i call sometimes it ended, didnt even rang on first attempt. I didnt encounter this on my samsung phone..
The 2 problems mentioned can be solved by restarting the phone or in 2nd problem sim card can be solved by turning on airplane mode and turn off..
Is this a bug on color os? And i hope theres a solution for this because its the micro problems that is just irritating..
And i wonder if its because of my simcard tray insertion that it affects its reading for sd card and simcards.. But the fact that the phone reads them means it was inserted the right way..
