Okay so im new to this and i have been working all day on trying to get my vibrant modded a little .. My earlier thread shows that i had some trouble and finally got it back to its factory settings .
Now I have upgraded to 2.2 and i rooted it using super one click rooting because I cannot root with an update.zip because I get a signature verification failure. But I realized i need to do this anyways to run a rom even using rom manager ..
So i tried to install 3e recovery installer which is suppose to override this but for some reason it fails to install. It says checking for root: and it fails.
Someone seemed to have the same problem in a different thread and said they deleted some bloatware with terminal emulator but i used termaninal backup (or something like that) to delete some bloatwares but this still did not fix the problem for me.
What is my problem? And what lag fix can i use for my vibrant when i get all this to work?
Fastest way to obtain root :
1. is to flash stock JFD rom (use AIO tools.
2. flash Clockwork recovery through Rom manager (get it from market)
3. Flash any rooted rom (with Voodoo lagfix) through CWM.
And most important thing, if you don't know what you are doing with your phone don't do anything.

i thought you needed root to flash recovery from rom manager...
anyways, my method of rooting is to use the recovery 3e to 2e batch (dont wanna call it an install cause it doesnt install really) and then flash a root update.zip from the 2e recovery you just flashed.
what may be happening to your 3e 2e thing is that you might of forgotten to enable usb debugging... you do this by going in the menu>applications>development>usb debugging on
make sure the phone is plugged in to the computer and debug is on and run 3e to 2e...
then get ahold of a root update.zip and rename it update.zip, put it on the root of your internal sd card (\mnt\sdcard\) and go into recovery (power phone off, hold vol up and down buttons and then hold power button at the same time until you see the vibrant boot screen. when you get into recovery, hit reinstall packages.
sorry for the wall of text; hope this helps.

Sent from a cell tower to the XDA server to you.
Google z4root and then download.the.apk. its a one click root apk.. just choose permanent root n ur good to go on any stock rom

You are right, I was rooting my device couple of months ago, I forgot that for CWM you have to obtain root first.
My memory is good but short
Ok so i downloaded rom manager and selected the top option flash clockworkmod recovery and picked my phone ( im already rooted by using the one step click root) and then i picked install rom from SD card and picked my room (which is Bi-winning v3) and my phone turned off and rebooted and went into the samsung recovery screen i tried to reinstall packages but gave me a error , i even tried the "all clockworkmod" recoveries and no luck same thing happens boots me up to the samsung recovery.
Does any one know what am doing wrong or what i can do to fix this problem?? thanks in advance and im still on my stock android os have't changed anything.
First, you need to start with a clean SD card. Then, open ROM Manager, flash cwr etc. etc. When it is finished downloading, power off the phone and reboot into recovery. From there (this is where the clean SD card is needed) then hit "reinstall packages, then hit reboot. This should bring up the iconic green text. reply if there are any problems.

hmm so do i need to clean my sd before i flash cwr or do i do it when i reboot my system?? from the android recovery screen??
Is not very clear to me. Did you flash your phone previously? have you done ODIN, kies, etc? have you tried this?

-ODIN to stock
-go here> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1157002 and download the link in the EDIT: POSSIBLE FIX (put this on root of internal SD)
-Re-install packages through stock recovery.
For some reason Rom Manager is not flashing CWR right. I couldn't get it to stick for hours. Just kept rebooting into normal load.
Follow the instructions above and you should be good to go. The 1.72mb update.zip should give you root and CWR

Im not sure how to use odin and what does it do ?? and i read the the topic you linked and seems like im not the only one having problems
Just download that update.zip he referenced (that I put there), and flash it.. instead of using Rom Manager.
it will root and install CWR for you.
I need to update my guides.

i highly suggest you learn how to use ODIN in the Vibrant Bible. If you're doing anything that has to do with rooting and flashing your phone, be sure you know how to revert back to stock. You WILL NEED TO at some point or another or find out what if feels like to own a brick.

I did find a lot of threads but i didnt get any answer to my question.
I was using a 2.3.6 stock Atrix 4G. I decided on getting the cm9 so i unlocked the bootloader using the following link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182871
as i am using the newer version so i was advised to run option 1 of the script( click the link to see the script) and then option 3. I did option 1 and then my phone got stuck in unable to boot and then i ran option 3 and just pressed enter and my phone booted. So i didnt advance on the script and closed the script. Now my phone says UNLOCKED at the m logo while booting.
And then for rooting i used the following link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1769497
i did get some errors while using the coding( as i had typo error) but then after two reboots and trying i got the success on my cmd window.
but i didnt get the same command promt text as upndwn4par( see the link) got. Still i anyhow got success. I checked my apps and super user was indeed sitting there.
After unlocking and rooting i downloaded rom manager and also downloaded cm9.zip file into my sd. Then pressed flash CWM and then also made a backup for my stock ROM and then pressed download from sd card on rom manager , then it asks cleear cache dalvik and backuo. I checked all and then my phone reboots and gets stuck in the ANDROID GUY with an Exclamation mark inside a triangle. I also tried reboot with recovery in ROM manager but the same screen.
I have mentioned all my steps. So please guide me where or what am i doing wrong?
please help , cause moto ditched me and i want to ditch moto's software.

I don't think recovery is installed properly. Try to fastboot flash recovery.

hi guys,
See i started to follow instructions on how to install a custom rom, for my case i went with cm-10.1-20130804-NIGHTLY-i9300, i copied it to my sdcard and booted with the recovery mode, after doing a factory wipe, i think i pressed the wrong button and clicked "install frim sdcard update.zip" or something, now my phone is just showing the animated android logo. should i remove the battery and start all over? or will that screw my system up?
Hope you guys could help.

Just boot back into recovery and install zip from sdcard. You MUST have already flashed a custom recovery to be able to do this, use Philz recovery etc.
Go read the guides in stickies, make sure you fully understand before you flash, otherwise you will brick your phone.

usually custom roms are all rooted. SuperUser might be moved to the Settings menu instead o app drawer, have a look.

So Yet Again im back with a new thread . I actaully bricked my phone and im now getting a replacement LG L90 from T-Mobile that should arrive by tomorrow . After experementing with the L90 i got to the point up to were i flashed TWRP and was able to use the custom recovery . I actaully couldn't find the Xposed zip file for some reason . I tried doing a master reset since i got into a bootloop . And since i dont know much i just decided to go to T-Mobile , Okay so im getting my replacement phone tomorrow .
So What?
Well I was actually asking myself why I couldn't find the Xposed zip file in TWRP . Since you know you need to flash the zip file on lollipop . Okay so im going to attempt to do it again on the new replacement im getting but what is it that I need to do or adjust in order to actually make the zip file appear ? In case of ANOTHER bootloop how do i do a Factory Reset ? Since TRWP did not let me . Did I flash the wrong TWRP.img ?
First of all, once you go to TRWP make a backup
OK, now to flash the xposed.zip just click install and search for the zip, is it on ypur SD card? Did you download it with your phone?
Btw are you using a custom ROM?

No I don't have a custom ROM & what are benefits of making the backup ? Also how do you move the zip to the sdcard ? will I have another bootloop when I flash the xposed zip ?
Well the backup you make at TWRP allows you to restore your phone to the way it was when you backed up, I'm talking about system, apps, data, preferences, everything. So if something goes wrong, it can be reverted
It will work as a factory reset but better
There's also a thread in the forum with a flashable stock-rom a.k.a factory reset
Just use file manager and move it to the SDcard or connect you phone to your pc and place the zip on the sdcard.
About xposed I don't think you'll have trouble, installed on my phone today and seems working fine, I can help you with the procedure
What L90 do you have? d405 d410 d415?
Settings->About phone->model
