Hi,
The lg p500 comes with thinkfree office pre-installed. According to the thinkfree homepage, their software should be able to read from/write to google docs. Some screenshots show a google tab in the "open file" dialog.
When I try to open a file, I don't see that dialog. Has somebody managed to connect the thinkfree office to google docs? Do I have to do something special to enable this tab?
Regards.

Is there an app that will let me upload and download files from google docs?
There's many apps that automatically backup on gdocs but i can't see any where you can do it yourself
any suggestions?
Thinkfree Office? That says you can access Google Docs with it. I havent actually tried it yet
I'm not able to find the options to configure Google Docs integration in Polaris Office. In fact, I don't see many settings at all for Polaris on the Flyer or even any option to buy another version in the market.
Looks like it's supported: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1087835
Did we get a pared down version with pen input support but without other features?
Any ideas?
I'm sure it is the stripped down version. I just use the google docs app from the market.
The Polaris office can save existing documents but cannot create one. Seems very limited.
Only problem is that the Google Docs app doesn't support the pen for markup.
Sounds like us early Flyer adopters will have to wait for more apps to add pen support.
Google Docs sync
What I do not understand is that under each google account, there is an option to sync Google Documents. So I am confused why this is there if there is no place to actual view the documents themselves...
I think it's because the ink is not supported in google docs itself. I've tried uploading Word documents with ink on them to google docs, and it strips the ink out in the upload and converting process. Same with inked word documents uploaded to microsoft's skydrive and opened in online word. I'm just using dropbox to move documents for now, and keep a blank word document in my dropbox to start a new one in Polaris.
Look over here for the Polaris Office 3.0 with the Google Docs support.
Do you know if the PO 3.0 supports scribe?

It doesn't matter because we can't install this version. Or have you root access to "/system/lib/" or "/system/app"? I don't think so...

What do you mean we cannot install it? It installs just fine. Extract the zipfile, open polarisoffice.apk in app manager and choose install.
This installs just like any other non market app.
Edit: No scribe did not work, uninstalled it.
Hi
I just wanted to know whether it's possible to access one's google docs account through Polaris Office. When I go to the Web files tab I can only add my box.net account. There isn't a google docs option, I went through all the settings and found nothing. I clearly remember reading in reviews that Polaris Office can access one's Google docs.
I use Polaris 3.0 build 3091ZD, the one that came on my phone.
Guess not, since you can only add box account. Box account doesn't work either for me, although it works fine with other office apps.

My Gmail on SGS II works fine, except that I can't open MS office files or Open Office files. When Trying to open MS Office files, after message Loading, it gives a message that Polaris Office crashed (doesn't metter if I choose open, or download, it somehow always try to open it with Polaris Office). With Open Office documents, I can't find how to download attachment, there isn't option !?!
Any Help on these ?

Try "download all files" from the market. Will give you the option when you select the email attachment

Hi All,
I am playing the the TF201 that I just got for work, and am looking for alternative GUI's for editing an syncing a google docs spreadsheet on the tablet.
The google docs app is ok but the editing on it is not intuitive and sloppy.
I tried Polaris, but it doesn't sync with the current doc, just uploads it back to the server and screws up the formatting. I also tried Office Suite but can't test the editing/syncing part without purchasing it. Same with Docs to go.
My docs is just rediculous.
Anybody else have any good insight to a friendly GUI on the android tablet?
THanks!
My favorite interface has always been from Quick Office HD. I love having a full page view as opposed to the text being all the way at the top right. The only annoying thing is the lack of autosave for Gdocs.

you could also try google docs in the chrome browser. it works better than in any other browser. cheers!
Is Google Drive any better?
I don't know if you can sync, but Kingsoft office is great and free.
EDIT: It can use cloud, you can add all your cloud accounts that support Webdav protocol. For google docs, use this eservice: http://dav-pocket.appspot.com/. It enables to access Google Docs via Webdav. And it's free.
Office Suite Pro 6 allows you to sync and edit Google Docs, as well as documents on you dropbox or box account.

Collatebox the best alternative to google spreadsheets
Google docs are ok, but a better solution with online and offline editing along with mobile solutions would be Collatebox ! Do go through the trial and website as well. They seem promising.
Microsoft office app is good
