[Q] LGs' Widgets and LG Keyboard on custom ROM - Optimus One, P500, V General

Hello to all...!!!
Today I flashed my first custom ROM (void) on my LG P500 and as a noob I have some questions...
1) Where can I find some LG programms (memo and calendar) and the other LG widgets? I mostly interested in widgets "Weather","Calendar","Analog Clock" and "News and weather"
2) Is it possible to have the LG Keyboard on SMS app on this custom ROM which has only the Gingerbread keyboard?
3) When I had the stock ROM I had made a backup with "Titanium Backup" all my apps and I have it saved in my PC.Can restore in custom ROM only the apps which I want?
Thanks in advance....

For 1 and 2 download this: http://sinap.se/oo/void-sapps.zip and apply in recovery.
For 3 the answer is yes, you can restore which app you want.

Thanks you...!
One more question,I don't want to flash back every deleted system app but some of them. How can I do this?
Of course I don't want appadvisor,Car Home and some other crupps...

extract just the app that you want an put the in them data/app folder you need root file manager or from adb

ΟΚ,I'll try it and I will be back....
Thank you!

With the "File Manager" of void ROM,I can't copy-paste the apps into system/app .
What can I do for this?

Yes, you can.
Anyway, if you extract the files from void-sapps.zip you will see 2 folders. One of the is "system", inside of it, another called "app" there are the ".apk's" that you need corresponding to widgets and programs.
The "News and weather" widget is called "GenieWidget".
You can extract the ones you like to the root of your SD and then, from the File Manager in the phone, install them one by one.

before i've said that you had to have root file manager to copy and paste in system/app
or as Noejn says : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=887281
No, you have to re-sign it. Use a program like this one.
Tutorial: How to flash only some sapps
1. Grab the sapps/gapps package
2. Extract it
3. Go to the extracted folder "/system/app/" and delete the applications you don't want to flash
4. Use the above program (zipsigner) to create a CROM.zip, put the extracted files there so you have 2 folders on the root of the zip: META-INF and SYSTEM. Then sign it and it should create a CROM-s.zip.
5. Rename the CROM-s.zip to MySapps.zip, put it in sdcard and flash.

Right, that make sense (to me) if I want to install most of them and leave out just one or two. What about if I only want just -one- widget from the void-sapps.zip?
Isn't better to uncompress void-sapps.zip and take that one out and put it on the SD card, then install it from there?

yes is right what you say but sometimes (for some lg's app) this method don't work

Also is not possible to install directly the Browser and Calendar.

I almost have found what I wanted from sapps zip,but I search for the stock internet browser.Which one of these is that?
I appreciate a lot your help!

[Q] Installing Calendar.apk on devoid (and the rest of the gapps)

I like the minimal devoid ROM since I can install only the apps that I actually use, but I have one app that I can't figure out how to install: Calendar.apk, the stock Android calendar.
Things I've tried:
1) Installing the apk from /sdcard/void/resources/gapps/apk/ from my void installation. This fails in the App Manager with the completely unhelpful message: "Application not installed"
2) Installing the gapps-gb package from mik_os's CM 7 port. This can be flashed and some of the apps install just fine, but not the calendar.
3) Installing the gapps-mdpi package from CM 6. This seems to be a better fit with the Froyo in devoid but like above, it installs a great many of the gapps, but not Calendar.
Has anyone managed to install the stock Android Calendar program under devoid? How?
flash the file attached,
it contain some originals apps:
Calendar
SoundRecorder
MoviePlayer
MusicPlayer
It looks like this contains only the CalendarWidget.apk. I flashed it anyway and it indeed does install the CalendarWidget along with the other apps, but not the calendar application. Thanks, though.
Your zip did give me the idea that I could just try to copy the APK files into /system/app. This worked. Now I can get started adding the rest of the apps I need.
can you teach me how to add those gapps in more detail? i have copied them to system/apps, then what's the next?

[Q] Can't install SystemApp APK (Galaxy Ace - Miracle v4 ROM)

I've installed the CyanogenMod 7.2 RC1 by vo-1 MIRACLE Edition V4 ROM
but I'm unable to install any additional system apps (e.g. sms/mms, camera).
The thread says, I have to use CWM. But when using the CWM App to install any APK, after confirming, I only get, that the APK wasn't installed.
I also used a few apk installers and tried to install with a root filebrowser. Doesn't work either.
The allowing-non-market-apps option is enabled.
What do I have to do? Clearing any caches with CWM?
Found it!
TUTORIAL 5: Recover System Apps than have been removed from V3
-- Place your desired app or apps on your sd-card
-- Use Root Explorer and copy them
-- Go to system\app and press the Mount R/W button on right top
-- Paste the app or apps you have selected
-- Long press what have you just pasted and set permissions to rw-r--r-- for each app
-- Reboot phone

I would make it simple for u..
1) Simply flash the ROM as said in the thread from where u downloaded
2) Download those additional zip files he attached (system apps) at the bottom of his post
3) Download & install ES file explorer on ur phone (in its settings customize it to allow it to make changes to root directory and enable up-to-root directory etc. and grant it superuser access when it asks)
4) Now extract whatever system app u require from that zip file (say mms.apk) on ur SD card
5) Now go to /system/app and paste this file over there
I recommended u for ES file explorer so that u wont have to change any permission at all..just copy & paste
NOTE: First move the original file u will be replacing in /system/app to some other place to avoid any future problem

Excuse my ignorance, but i can't seem to extract from any of the ROM's ive downloaded (can't find the link to yours if i click the ics one in your signature it just takes me to a long thread with no obvious links). I know how to use adb to get the file onto the phone, but cant figure out how to get it out of the .tar.ext4 file ?
download blazer rom : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746184
then use 7zip (http://www.7-zip.org/) to open the zip.
navigate to system/app and find email.apk
extract it from there (drag and drop it out of the 7zip window to your desktop)
then copy that to your phone ... either use adb to push it to system/app or use root explorer on your phone.
hope that helps
Hi, I realize that your rom says that it's just for Sprint, if I were to download it and take the contacts.apk from it, would that not work on my AT&T galaxy SIII?
I accidentally disabled it and am currently trying to find a way to get it back onto my phone. :'( *I already looked at my settings>applications>all and it's not there. [contact storage is there, but I can't find the application that I use to actually read that, after the disabling.//I raged on it for continually popping up on my advanced task manager.]

I rooted (using this method: http://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-s3-sch-i535-root-101633/) and ended up using the non-bloatware version and apparently the regular email app was considered bloatware for some reason because it disappeared.
So I tried following your instructions, but there was no "email.apk" in the download, so I figured you probably meant "exchange.apk." Followed the instructions, moved it to system\app, changed the permissions, and rebooted but it's still not showing. So I went back to try to install it manually, and it just tells me it wasn't installed successfully (and yes, I have "unknown sources" selected).
I am also not sure if this is the stock GSIII email app, based on the icon. Looks like the old yellow email icon to me.

Multiple app install: will this work?

Hi
I'm looking for an easy way to batch install all of my already backed up applications on external SD (in *.apk format) after new rom flashing. My phone is rooted (running RR 2.7). what if using a root explorer I just copy all the apk files to data\app and copy some of them to system\app and then reboot the phone? Will all of these application be automatically installed, while apk's copied to data\app will be installed as user apps, and those copied to system\app will install as system apps? Will this work? Is there a problem in this method? If so I may create a CWM based installer that will do this automatically...
I'm talking about 400 apps, about 600MB in total size//
Thanks
How are they backed up? What did you use to do it? I use Titanium Backup. The paid version allows batch operations.

I used an app called File expert. It can simply find the apk file used in the installation and back it up. I can reinstall the app with the backed up apk. I also tried copying a new apk file to data/app and after restarting the app did install correctly. So I want to use this method to restore all of my apps automatically by creating a CWM zip installation. I need to know if this method is safe and will not cause problems...
Thanks

No need to do any of that crap and mess around. Just use Titanium Backup Pro (paid version) and you can backup all your apps plus the app data so they keep all their settings etc. Then when you install a new rom you can batch install them all back in couple of clicks.

Don't know that app. You can define the backup folder in TiBu to reinstall your apps that way. Or iirc Rom Toolbox will take a batch of apps and create a cwm zip file to batch install.

Using CWM zip installation is actually the best method. It is safe and faster too.
Thanks. I'm familiar with TB and MB. I do not need to restore the app's data. I'm just looking for a way to install all my market apps without actually using the market. I noticed that when you reboot the phone, any new apk file in either system/app or data/app gets installed automatically. So I thought maybe I take a CWM setup file (zip with simple copy to system + data updater-script)' and add all of my backed apk's into the data/app directory then I can install this zip file right after I flash a new rom file. For some reason, CM9 recommends that you do not use TB. I also noticed that dev's use this method to add additional apps to their rom.. I just need to know that this method is ok to use and not cause problems like acquire extra space by creating duplicates of each app (I notice using this method that sometime the original apk I copied was reset to a 0Kb file, and a new apk that starts with the name "com.something.something.apk" is created instead. Is this normal?)
Thanks

I'll help you create a CWM zip template. I'll upload it in about 3 hrs time as soon as i get to my pc
This is a CWM.zip I created for you.
How to:
1. Open the zip file using 7zip, winrar or similar apps (don't extract it)
2. Copy your users apps to data/app, and copy system apps to system/app
3. Close the zip file.
4. Flash the zip file via CWM recovery.
enjoy.

paste the the facebook.apk in system/app/here and change the permission to rw-r-r
Make sure you are ROOTED.
For convenience I recommend install an app named ROOT EXPLORER.

You are just modifying the current ROM, Not making the ROM.
If you over right with other ROM while flashing you will loose all the modified data.(like making a Facebook as an System App)
After completion I suggest take a backup of your device.
Edit: If you are getting error, then Move that Facebook file to your Memory Card. After that uninstall Facebook, make sure that FACEBOOK FILE IS NOT ANYWHERE IN YOUR DEVICE EXCEPT YOUR MEMORY CARD. If you find there exist any then Delete that.
Now you are clean, Move that FACEBOOK file from MEMORY CARD to SYSTEM>APP and move there.
After file gets moved, just click on it and choose INSTALL.
