I would also like to know if we have to install those JITs through xRecovery even with Froyo.
FAQ from HOWTO thread!
FAQ:
Q: Do I have to wipe anything before installation?
A: No! When you install FreeX10 it will wipe your system, data and cache.
Q: Can i install Jit on this rom?
A: Jit is already activated in Froyo!
Q: Can I dualboot this with my official 2.1?
A: No!
Q: Will Flash Player work with this rom?
A: Yes
Q: Does this include the latest baseband or does it use whatever version is on the x10?
A: It uses the version that is on the x10!
Haha thanks! Sorry I forgot what I had read earlier lol

you can use the flashtool to flash a generic ROM then use seus to go to 2.3.3.
That is what I did.

You don't need to wipe before flashing a newer version of a rom I am general unless the dev says a wipe is needed. So no wipe for you

It's an upgrade to your current kernel, it should just flash fine and your rom should keep working.

Sure dude? Can't we upgrade replacing the ftf somewhere with shell and modifying some init config file, as we do on linux?
If not, i wonder why the MiniCM notification has the download option.

MiniCM is the ROM, not the kernel, If you have an official CM-ROM on your phone you can get OTA updates for that, but that doesn't include the kernel of your phone.
The main reason you can't update kernels without a computer is because your phone has to be in flash-mode in order to reach the parts where the kernel and loader are stored, and if your phone is in flashmode, you can't access it manually to edit anything.

Thanks. Didnt know the flashmode thing.
By the way, i know minicm is the rom, but the minicm notification has both rom and kernel (nAa kernel) update notication. It is a cm based rom.

Yes, i know minicm is cm-based, but it's an 'unofficial' port, so i'm not sure if you actually get Over-The-Air updates (where the relevant parts of the ROM are updated on the fly), or just notifications that updates are available and that you can download them from somewhere, or if you even get notifications, i haven't used it long enough to find out
I dowloaded the kernel with the notification to sd... But need flashtool anyway. Maybe it is for quick flash because don't have to visit xda thread.
Thanks for answers
that does make it a bit easier i suppose anyway, you're welcome
It is actually possible to flash kernels without a PC. It just hasn't been coded into our CWM and the correct way hasn't yet been found/added for the Mini/MiniPro. It is possible but you'd need a JTAG as you'd probably kill the phone quite a few times!
what is the difference between xrecovery 0.3 and the clockworkmod v.5 ??? what should i use to flash any ics or jellybean rom??

Every developer will tell you in the instructions which recovery is needed to install their app or ROM.
ClockWorkMod is newer than xRecovery.
Odp: [Q] difference

Yep, however many Xperia ROMs still need xRecovery to flash, so the best way is having them both installed

True.
Also know that several kernels (DoomKernel, FeraKernel 3.6) include both recoveries...

Do a full wipe i.e. wipe data, cache, dalvik cache then flash the ROM and gapps as well!
