Q - from 2.0.A.0.504 to new baseband - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can you help me pls?, I was running 2.0.A.0.504 rooted and with xrecovery and then I flashed new amss.sim and kernel.sim to get new baseband and dualtouch and also to be able install FreeX10 beta4, everything was succesful and now I am on Freex10 beta4 with newbaseband and dualtouch, but I am not sure if only amss.sim and kernel.sim were changed or there were some other improvements on other .sim files since 2.0.A.0.504, so if I should flash them too
sorry my bad english
thx

help needed installing ROM

I've seen many roms uploaded here but do not know if they would work on my X10.
I have rooted it. Busybox and Xrecovery installed..
Firmware version : 2.1 update 1
baseband version : 2.0.46
Kernal version : 2.6.29
Build number : 2.0.A.504
I'm new to all of this so any help would be appreciated
I wanted to install this.. would it work on mine?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865580
I think that ROM requires the 2.0.2.A.0.24 build number. You can flash the build firmware using flashtool. And then you can install this ROM with xRecovery I believe.
I've heard you can lose your 3g conenction, is this true? I'm on o2 in the UK.. does this matter?
You can lose your signals if you don't flash the correct baseband I believe.
ALWAYS make a backup of your original ROM before installing a new one, so that if any problem occurs or if youre unsatisfied with the ROM, you can revert back to the old one.

[Q] - [RESOLVED] - Went from U20a Model to U20i on Build 2.1.1.A.06 with Baseband....

EDIT!!::::
Ok so First of my x10 mini pro was default and its model was U20a, its Build was 2.0.A.0.504 and the baseband was 06...
I then tried bits and peices of things and finally managed to change the model to U20i and have the build change to 2.1.1.A.06 and have the same baseband by using a custom downloaded backup file through xrec...
i couldnt figure out how to get the baseband to XXXXXXX015 so i tested my luck on the flasher that was here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10879507#post10879507
So after a few tries it works

Ok So.
Here is the story, i am trying to get my x10 Mini Pro to run this here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1051678
It is the ROM called: [ROM] Cyanogen Froyo - CM6 latest sources (Version 2.1) fast and stable + Dual Touch
Ok so i know i need to get my baseband to end with 015 so here is my information.
Model Number: U20a
Firmware Version: 2.1-update1
Baseband version: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404006
Kernel Version: 2.6.29 [email protected] #1
Build Number: 2.0.A.0.504
So i tried using SEUS to get my version to be 2.1.1.A.06 so my baseband would be xxxxx015
BUT when i tried updating it said that there is no available updates and that my x10 mini pro is up to date...
Also i live in Queensland in Australia...
---
So how do i manage to get the ROM to run for me if i can not update/flash to that baseband/build... i have tried to follow this here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1040149
But i can not get the flasher to be downloaded, it seems the link is broken of the download has been removed...
If anyone could give me something to work with here, even just ideas and or tips i would be happy, atm i am testing to restore using a 2.1.1.A.06 Build Version Backup... Its working so far, havent rebooted yet...
Ok i had that backup finish, and i am at 2.1.1.A.06 now but my baseband is still the same... *beep* (cursing under breath xD)
Cant find a damn sure fire way to flash the correct baseband... maybe i can find a way for a U20i model version since the previous backup which used the 2.1.1.A.06 build....
Going on a search to see if its easier to flash the 015 baseband
Ok cant seem to find anyway to get the correct baseband version flashed over my model is now U20i, the Build is 2.1.1.A.06 but the baseband is still Baseband version: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404006
I guess that restoring from a restore save wont change the baseband version maybe... but im not sure... my default is stil u20a and is still 2.0.A.0.504
I hate not knowing what to do lolxD
So I have not had any luck in figuring out what to do about my baseband problem but i was playing around with the restore from the custom backup and i found 2.1.1.A.06 to be faster and more responsive than 2.0.A.0.504...
Just about to fix up a personal save of that custom so i have my default and the custom.
Now to wait for someone to help... All i need is to be able to get the Baseband version:M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015 onto my x10 mini pro, instead of its M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404006...
So for you guys again, my baseband is M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404006 for my 2.0.A.0.504 backup and is also M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404006 for the new 2.1.1.A.06 custom backup. For the 2.0.A.0.504 which is my default build number for my default backup, the Model is U20a...
For my custom the Model is shown as U20i.
I have a U20i_2.1.1.A.06_Baseband etc etc file from someone on xda which is as a 7z file and i have no clue what to do now... help plz.......
X10 Mini Pro 2.1 incl. Flashtool
or
[FLASHTOOL GUIDE] HOW TO for n00bies
Ok so i now i have the rom running fine i think on my x10 which was default with the settings firstly stated, i then used a custom back up of 2.1.1.A.06 which gave my phone the U20i model and the needed 2.1.1.A.06 Build
i then found that the baseband could not be implimented properly through a backup and i therefore needed to flash it, my first many attempts failed greatly and i had no clue i then used this guide here and the latest version of the flasher http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10879507#post10879507
i did not think it would work and to my surprise it did
Ok So far i have found that since i am on 3G i have no way to actually utilize the PHONE aspect of it, and i have also had something go wrong with the draw dock type thing... it wont bring up all of the apps now...
so its not that big of a deal, so atm its good, i have the u20i and the correct build and baseband so yay
but anyway, i still have my default backed up, i have the previous version backed up and the CM6 ROM version so i think that this is all good
although i wish i could get a nice rom which is 3G compatible, and oh oh oh! my cousin can get 4G speeds and still cant get 3G xD
Ok so after some tinkering and some searching and ****, i have found that the baseband is now 015 for all my backups... i will have to find baseband and kernel to flash to my device that will return it to 06
If i had the time to learn how i would see about an all in 1 sort of program which holds all basebands and its coupled builds... it would also root and instal xrecovery etc as other options and that will be about all xD but meh xD

How did you get to U20i? I actually have to do the opposite! Can you guide me through going from U20i to U20a??? I have read so much my brain is beginning to melt but I'm just not getting anywhere! :crying:
I need something in U20a to enable options in the baseband so it will work in Canada. I bought the stupid thing on eBay and didn't realize there were 2 versions of this phone.

Baseband .71 instead of .65 ?

Hello, i have an xperia x10 bought thru Atnt. At the time , it had the following specs-
firmware 2.1-update1 base 2.165 kernel 2.6.29 built 2.1.a.0.492
I rooted it, and installed Wolfs GW. After installing, i flashed the given kernel+baseband file - 2.3.3 kernel and baseband .71
Now the phone worked, and the new specs it gives are -
version 2.3.3 base 2.1.71 kernel 2.6.29 built 3.0.1.g.0.75
Now should i worry about the baseband being different? although the phone works fine with these new settings, should i flash a 2.165? Please help, i am a noob to this. Thanks.
No, new baseband comes with Gingerbread, so kept it as it is now.

[Q] Confused over which Firmware to flash

hello guys,
have got SE xperia x10 from US,
have unlocked the same from AT&T to make it generic.
currently running on android 2.1
Firmware version
2.1 update 1
Baseband version
2.1.54
Kernel version
2.6.29
Build Number
2.1.A.0.435
I want to install xrecovery on my X10i, which i am unable uptill now.
My x1o is rooted somedays ago thru superoneclick.
can anyone suggest me the exact firmware to flash in my phone as i have unlocked my phone which was previously x10a US AT&T... and now its x10i generic.
Thanks.
You can install: http://www.multiupload.com/SR8R1B5KII
Using: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
That's x10a AM-US GB 1233-822
US generic Gingerbread for x10a.
You can then root using: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1196421
And install xrecovery right after you're done and booted up.(You have to choose ask root perms on flashtool first before you can)
The option should be enabled on flashtool when you boot up.
Thanks Dark Nightmare,
done!!!.... kudos to the flash tool owners...
had a small prob after i had flashed the fw...
the phone wasnt detecting the memory card even if i had formated the same on the PC...
tried my memory card on other smart fone, and it worked perfectly fine...
solution: format in a nokia fone and u r done.... everything works perfectly after that....

- Hmm, you should be able to change the model number by editing your build.prop
- The only way you can get 2.3 is by flashing a new ROM. SE stopped at 2.1
- Not completely sure about this one but I think you should be able to use Flashtool to get those firmwares.

That's the problem, i tried editing the build.prop, maybe i did it wrong, d'you know what should it say, exactly what D:
And i tried to change the rest with flashtool, but the only thing that did change was the baseband, used to be the one that ends with 06 and it changed to 015, but the rest didn't change.
I want to change the rom to the mini cm7 2.1.7 for x10minipro
I already changed the x10mini (E10i) i have, with a rom for the mini (no pro) cm7 2.1.6, but now that i see the one for mini pro i can't change it.
does anyone know what can i do?! T-T
Anyone? D:
I have the same problem, I need to change from U20a to U20i. I also tried to change the build.prop but it doesn't work. I need help, what can I do?
Why do you need to change the model? When you flash a new rom, the new build prop already comes marked as u20i.
I have a u20a and just reflashed original rom with seus, I noticed the sony build.propdoes not have any of the ro.ril parameters, and 2G works far better in this rom. Also, 3G seems 2o draw less eneergy from the battery. Maybe when running with u20i parameters the u20a gets more power hungry. I'm looking into rebuilding the kernel myself and cooking a rom following the excellent work of nobodyatall and I would like to have some light shed on this u20a/u20i matter.
any info whatsoever is welcome.
As far as installing a custom rom, just flash the naa-11 kernel, enter clockwork recovery and flash the ROM you want. (minicm7 2.1.9 is excellent)
