With the latest firmware I noticed the android_id is set to dead00beef, I checked this android id changer. This causes a problem with games expecting a unique id, e.g. racing live.
In order to use Android ID Changer would I have to get sde?
if you are rooted, (even using archangel) you could try installing 'marketenabler'
and set it to tmobile usa (or maybe an other). This allowed me to play 'pocket racing' in multiplayer mode, which previously would not as it could not see my device ID.
this will also help you see more protected apps on the market by the way.
I tried that but it didn't work. Idont think that changes android_id

When I change to xps, what about the apps (from market) that are installed on my x10?
Will they stay available through the market so I can reinstall them on the new phone? Especially the paid ones.
It will be my first switch, and preparing myself for the moment the xps is available in Belgium
Everything you've bought in the market is linked to your login details. Changing phones is lovely and easy, you can even have the apps on more than one device with the same login.
Only thing to watch out for is some paid apps may need deactivating or unregistering on the old device first. The only one I had like this was Copilot sat nav which only allowed you to install it on one device at a time. I think the new version doesn't do this anymore although I'm not 100% sure.
hello guys i have one problem with compatibility we all know that gameloft couldn't care less about supporting more devices and simply say "ask a refund" - which is not the way i'm gonna stop trying i have bought the game back when i had LG O2X, but now i have Xperia S which is not supported by default (odd, as cracked versions did - unfortunately i'm unable to play with cracked version anymore cause of update), so i decided to solve this by myself, i've managed to get Arc S data files pack from gameloft and decompiled it with third party tool to sd files and data files, moving them to according positions, but the game acts like there are no data files found, trying to download data files for LT26i, which, of course, fails, as there are no such data on gameloft server. is there any way to either trick the game to think it's running on Arc S or to properly setup the game manually including game data setup. thanks in advance.

problem solved... in case anyone wondering: open build.prop file in /system/ root...
then, find and modify following values:

ro.product.device=LT26i
They are ALLWAYS there, so do NOT create them in case you think they aren't, that might cause unforseen consequences including bootloop...
change them accordingly:

ro.product.device=LT18i
Reboot phone...
any application that checks those variables will think they are runnng on Arc S instead of S, allowing you to "forcibly download" data for Arc S in gameloft games, which, in most cases, will work on Sony Xperia S...
After the download it is safe and advised to revert values in build.prop to their original values, as it might break compatibility with other apps, relying on those values.
PS: you can buy the game by accessing gameloft mobile website (m.gameloft.com) and setting your device to Arc S, then you will see and be able to buy the game, it is even cheaper than via google play...
Hello. I've been long lurking about xda, and now for the first time would love some specific help.
I've been working on debugging some Android applications of mine and I need to test with multiple different devices, I just ran into one issue using the AVDs. I can't seem to change the name of the device that appears to the apps and play store for example. This is a very crucial part of my debugging, and since I don't have multiple real devices, I would love to be able to test different ones on the emulator.
For example: My actual device appears to apps/play as "HTC HTC Vision" (HTC Desire-Z)
The emulator appears to apps/play as "Verizon Phone".
I would like to be able to change the emulator to appear as "Galaxy SII" for example... Well.. It actually doesn't matter what the string is, just that it's different from the ones I already have tested.

Both of the NFL streaming apps work fine on my Nexus 7, however I want to use them on a different device (AFTV). I loaded them on and had issues with both.

There is a 'provider login' button that is missing from the settings tab.

When opened on my tablet it immediately asks me to login with my provider account, on the AFTV it brings up a different screen not giving me that option.
My questions are:
How do these apps know what device they are being run on? Is it grabbing the info from build.prop (I tried editing it to change the product info, didn't have success)
Is there a way to spoof my device information to that app? Or, would decompiling the app and looking for the check be the best course of action?
Has anyone had success in getting around these types of issues previously? I searched and came up empty handed.

I have Mate 20 Pro and PIA VPN. When I google "what is my IP address" they show right address.
But when I try to play some games what I need to change country or change country for Play Store to have some applications to download it, notting happens. It change country but still the same like I didn't change it.
My firend wirh OnePlus and Samsung can do this things very easily.
What to do??? How to make this work please help me
Just to say VPN change IP address. I see it when open Chrome and go on google.com, at end of site I see different country.
But many other application like some games what I need to change country to play or change for Play Store it is like nothing happened.
What happen with Huawei and EMUi? Why they didn't allow VPN? Or Im doing something wrong?
