I am looking for an artist to do some icon, button and logo work for me. Nothing major.
I can trade webhosting (on either coast), maybe some custom application development, or maybe some cash.
Artwork will be used in both free and commercial applications.
shoot me an email jcase @ cunninglogic.com if you are interested.
I forwarded your address to my daughter, she's not a pro but does PhotoShop and digital drawing both. Maybe she can help.

here is an app that i thought of and found a dev nice enough to put it together, it is a work in progress and open to suggestions or comments
Would you love to have a soundboard that mimics the most popular phones on the market? (ie the iphones, blackberries, nokias, htc's, etc... )
WELL LOOK NO FURTHER IT HAS ARRIVED SEE BELOW
Edit: after working with a dev willing to take on the task we (my help was very minute) have made a app to mess with your iphone friends description is below and please feel free to add suggestions of other tones via this thread his own thread and via p.m. to either of us.

Ringtone Simulator or How to Screw With Your iPhone Friends
Fool your friends with this neat little app that simulates other phones ringtones. Stuck in an elevator with lots of people? Hit the iPhone or Blackberry button and see how many people reach for their phone.
Find the latest updates at http://www.ronkroetz.com or or download the app here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3233255/RingToneSim1_0_0.apk

I want to find a weather radar widget that works nicely with the NC. Any advice?
Right now, I have Weatherbug Elite, but it's radar widget won't stretch very big, and when you click on it, it's just a little map that comes up, anyway. I want something that I can make into a larger widget or something.
Rainy Days. There's no temp or forecast, just fullscreen radar with pinch-to-zoom. It gets data from weather services all over the world so you can even watch it rain in China.
I just realized you're asking about a widget. This is an app. Oops! I mean, it's a really good app but it's not a widget. Sorry about the misunderstanding.
Might still be worth checking out. Thanks.
Id love a good widget too. Rainy days is the best I've found but no widget.

If you guys really like this app and would like an widget, simply send some comments to the developers. You would be surprise how responsive the Android developers are.

I mean, comments you send via email to the developer's email (you can find the email from market app detail screen). Because popular apps always have a lot of comments on review (listed on app detail screen), developers prefers email comment.

This...I actually had an email conversation with the man behind rainy days...great guy and was open to the widget idea. Send him feedback and I'm sure he will be all over it.
Edit...don't be mad at him if he releases it as a bonus in a paid version...programmers have to drink beer too......

Hello XDA,
I have spent the past year familiarizing myself with Android and the Android SDK. Now I am stuck. I want to publish an app on the Android Market but I have no idea what type of app I should make. Please help me guys and gals. Give me any idea you have that ou would like an app for in Android. What do you guys miss from iOS or Windows Phone 7 or Windows Mobile 6.5 or Palm OS or WebOS or any PC/MAC based application? What do you want to see? (Preferably something that hasn't already been done.) Thanks
Sincerely,
Zaid
I was in the same situation as you a while back.
If you are serious about app development, my suggestion is that you go over to Freelancer.com and browse the active Android jobs and see how hard it would be for you to build an app. If you are confident about completing an app, be sure to bid on a project and send a demo of the app to the person requesting it - it just might land you a nice paying job!
My experiences there have been mostly positive and it's a great way to sharpen your skills and earn some extra money.
(If you're going to join, and if it wouldn't be a problem, send me a PM with your e-mail so I can send you an invitation which will in turn earn me some spare change )

Hey thanks for your reply. I will most definitely check it out. I just have one question. If I want to use my business for app development can I make an account under my business's name?

I get your drift, and I can see how something like that could be really popular. I know some folks are really addicted to these social games where they take turns and play with someone. Taking that idea into a romantic direction would work, I'd think. Something on the order of "Draw Something" or "Words With Friends" that was password protected and was on the order of "Truth or Dare" or something like that might find a huge market...particularly if you could attach audio or pictures. SMS just isn't a perfect substitute because it doesn't bring in the "game" aspect or provide the same kind of "rules" or "choices".

thank you for thinking outside the box to see the kind of app i'm looking for. we do the "texting" thing. i'm looking for something different. something that could promote new ideas and things to do. something that takes some of the control away.
App for Couples
There is a new app for couples out that could provide you with something of what you are looking for.
Search iLoveNote on Google Play for Android Devices. The App is awaiting release in the App store for IOS devices.
I was also looking for a similar app. I found an app so I want to make happy to my girlfriend with my performance.:
I am looking for someone that can mod the stock email app in order to use the new card UI that Google is now using. Similar to what tapatalk is using now, as well as many others.
What I am looking for is for each email line to be a card, then when opening the email the header would be a card and the body would be a card.
Anyone think they can do this? For an idea take a look at evomail in the market. It has started to move in this direction but is terrible at handling email, and doesn't do exchange.
PM me if you would like to work together on this. I can easily pass ideas or test the apk, but know nothing about programming so wouldn't be helpful with that part. If this can be done by just theming let me know, as I can do a little of that and would love to help there too.
I personally think this is how the email app should look in the future...and seeing as how Google is beta testing a new email app, maybe it will be. But until then I would like to get started.
Thanks in advance.
