Hi guys. I'm running the freex10 beta4 and everything is just fine, except the baterry that is draining.
I have already deleted the Weather and News and have alredy wiped the baterry stats.
I'm using GreenGlow theme with this ROM and i got no FC or stuffs. It's only the battery problem.
Am i missing something? Tips?
Tk u all for now.

I had the same issue, so I did a fresh install and didn't restore ANY of my app data, just the apps themselves.
This time around the battery life is superb, so much better than beta 3 was..

I hope is SEUS
just a question.....
I have the latest baseband and kernel.....I am having crazy battery drain with beta4, tried everything to solve without any noticeable improvement.
Now at this point the only thing left to try is a clean install.
Should I go through Seus....repair option,re-root... reinstall xrecovery and then freex10 or can I just reinstall freex10 beta 4 directly?!?
thanks
SEUS, PCC, Flashtool, choose one which is the easiest

Wipe on recovery.. Wipe phone/wipe cache/wipe dalvik cache, then install beta 4 let it boot a couple times and settle, then gapps, let it boot, logged in once. Then installed greenglow, booted a couple times let it settle, then finally installed new market. I installed my apps from the market (only restored two or three through titanium..)
Battery drain minimal
I read that many are experiencing heavy battery drain with the Z-Beta 4. In my case, it does not consume almost anything if left alone.
I have 3G, WLAN, GPS and BT enabled all the time. I am using ATK.
I came to Bet4 like this:
Was running Beta 3 with Greenglow. Made backup with xrecovery, installed baseband, beta 4 and gapps. Then booted and let it run for a while. After that I restored the Beta 3 data using xrecovery. (I didn't clear any caches or anything, just installed)
On Beta 4 I do not have to re-charge every 24 hours any longer. (And I do talk for some two hours a day. (It is my office phone)
I did have battery drain problem with Beta 2 but after removing plenty of apps and not using app2sd (As someone reported that keeping apps on SD drained battery. -I have not confirmed this myself though) Battery life has been excellent.
By the way, -I so much like my phone with this ROM
Cheers
I recommend you that when you flash a new firm, do always a "wipe battery stats" on the advanced menu of xrecovery. That seems to fix a lof ot draining and heating problems
i had the same problem before. already deleted news and weather and wiped battery stats but still the same. what i did to resolve it. it was one of the apps that got restored from a titanium backup of my 2.1 install whos causing it. uninstalled twitter (im using tiwdroyd), htc work email app and weather flip & clock. issue resolved. also when restoring from TB try restoring the app only, probably it was the data causing it
I have the same problem here, fresh install does not help, the battery drain fast while idle time (1 hour 10%). I don't have this problem on Beta3, it worked perfect!!!

I have tried the re-installation, wiped out the battery stat, it does not work, and the charging is slow, but the battery consumption is fast without doing anything on the phone. (Battery is hot!)
Let's see any improvement after few days run.
I have the same problems with beta 4. I have clean all the things you have said, but it don´t work..

** Please hit "Thanks" if someone helps you out. **
All ROMs based on beta4 have same battery problem.
here are things to try:
1) turn off 3G and data, wait 10 sec, and turn it back on. (use power control widget)
2) using xRecovery wipe cache and Dalvik cache
Method 1) worked for me. Others are reporting that fresh install helps. Phone does work better after fresh install, but after couple of hours battery drain starts. So maybe full cache has something to do with it.
I noticed that battery drain happens often after making/receiving calls. So it might be related to the phone.apk (or underlaying .jar), or to the screen dimmer, or sensor.
I read somewhere that Dolphin Browser also causes battery drain. I didn't a fresh flash and didn't install it this time. Battery life improved, lasted whole day plus a bit more with everything (wifi, BT, sync, 3G, max lighting) on. Didn't have to remove the weather/news app.

I posted a thread in general about that... A lot of people said that this did fix the issue for them, or at least it helped. I get 16 hours of very heavy use, or 2 days with light to moderate use.

I can't figure it out, but in the last two-three days, I've had considerable slowdown on all apps and ADW menus and homescreens. Is there an easy way to figure out what is using all the resources and remove it? I have gone over everything that I have installed in the last few days and deleted most of them, but I still have the lag and I can't figure this out. From the time I rooted and updated to 026, the phone has been great and pretty fast and the batt life has been pretty good as well, but now all of that has changed, so something is killing my phone slowly. Any ideas/help/similar stories??
Thanks for your help guys..
"spare parts" gives you various stats under battery usage, you could check what apps etc have been using up CPU time - could give you a clue?
Also bug reporter will let you email the log files to yourself for inspection.
Thanks for the quick response... I totally forgot about spare parts. It was helpful and the problem has been resolved. Back to normal and fast again...
Thanks for the help...
I find that if I leave my phone on too long without restarting then it tends to start lagging up a lot. I usually have to restart every 3-4 days.
agreed.. I find the same issue-- a required restart every few days or the phone begins to lag quite a bit. Not sure of the cause though.

Could you tell what the problem was and how you managed to isolate it? Thanks

The problem seemed to be with fancy widgets, so I figured the update didn't install right, so I uninstalled it, re-installed it and rebooted the phone and everything is a-ok..
But, I did use spare parts to isolate the usage stats..
where is everyone getting fancy widgets? cuz i'm not seeing it on the market
edit: kk so i found a download for it on google. next question. you said your's recently updated.... to what version? i just got 1.2.4..
I'm sure 1.3.0 was the last version they made before they stopped..

The laggy problem after long time not reboot which your guys mention was caused by applications running, i think. Did you try Task killer? If not, after a day, there are many running program in the cache and your fone would soom run out of memory.
I do use advanced task killer pro and some cache cleaner as well, but even so, I still have to reboot every few days or the slowdown problem re-emerges..
I am keeping my eyes on the usage stats in case I have some rogue program that just eats memory too often.
Today I bought a xperia x10 mini. updated to latest firmware thru pc companion.
But i just can't keep my fingers out of it , this is also my first android phone and i don't have a clue about firmware mods and how to instal.
I would like to update to gingerbread to get the full experience.
How do I do that ? what's the first thing i have to do before making the steps described in this tread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1068553 ?
I really don't want to brick it or something like that because I bought it without warranty.
And excuse me for starting a new tread on a subject thats probably answered but my isp speed is rubbish and browsing thru xda is very slow.
Thank you in advance and for all the great work in WinMo , had a lot of fun!
You make sure your firmware is updated to 2.1.1.c.0.0 and your baseband is updated too. Then install CWM recovery ( search for it) then put MiniCM7.zip to sdcard and also gapps. Rename minicm7 to update.zip. Then reboot phone. When the SE logo appears, hit the back buton repeatedly then from the recovery menu, choose install from update.zip and when done, install from custom zip and choose gapps and reboot and yay!
This should be moved to Q&A btw.

Correct. But you missed out one crucial point. ROOT!
After updating firmware/baseband but before installing recovery, download 'SuperOneClick' and root your phone otherwise you'll not be able to install xrecovery/cwm.
Enjoy your phone.
<i>The world will end if I don't have a (Tapatalk) signature.</i>
-Root
-put minicm7 to sdcard (you'd better read the topic requirements)
-install Clockworkmod
-reboot and when you see sony ericsson white logo, press the back button repeatedly till you see cwm menu
-choose update from custom zip or sth like that and choose minicm7.zip
-wait and reboot
There you go!
tnx!
and another thing does gingerbread bring any battery improvements ? speed and other hardware improvements? and also i have read that with gingerbread you can get only vga shooting? is that true ?
In case of camera, lot of things don't work. It's VGA limited, no flash, no autofocus. Also you can't read QR codes due to no autofocus. At least this is what i remember from miniCM7 v.2.0.2. but i guess it's the same, since changelog doesn't mention any improvements or fixes in this area. I wouldn't recommend you the gingerbread right now. Froyo is much more stable & bug-free. I don't know what improvements you are expecting, but the best battery life & performance you can achieve with tweaked factory ROM, since ported drivers in custom ROMs are not exclusively developed. But what custom ROMs lack in performance, they gain in feature-rich code from CyanogenMOD. And miniCM has one hell of a theme too!
after experimenting with diferent versions i decided to stick with official 2.1.1.a.0.6 it's fast , stable and does not suck that much battery. but even so i modded with undervolt , cpu tuner to lower cpu in call and standby , deactivated all ( background data , wi-fi , bt etc ) and still the battery lasts me 1,5 days and i didn't gave it a hard use.
why would you put all of these functions if you cant use them? had a htc diamond and gave it away for the same reason.
is there anything else to do to it ? i was thinking to make a portable charger

Oh man, i also had a HTC Diamond before Mini And to answer your question, my battery lasts for almost exactly 24h, but I use it to full potential: With 3G always on I'm syncing mails, instapaper, RSS & have lots of background apps to alter the UI the way I want. And basically the only thing I do to help battery life apart from what you've already mentioned is that from time to time when I charge phone to 100%, i reboot to recovery & wipe battery data. Then boot to OS & let it completely drain. This always seem to help.
it seems there are some flaws in some aplications.
did a repair with seus , undervolted , setcpu and instaled only known good programs. it now consumes 50% battery with heavy usage a day ( messenger , browsing , background data , brightness to max , music , calls , 3g on ) and with no memory booster or task killer. i suspect awd.launcer it works fine a day or two but after it becomes a bit slow ...
anyway im glad i don't have to sell it no more

It's just one great app! It turns off data traffic when screen goes off, but turns data periodically on for synchronizing mails/twitter/etc. And when you wake up your phone, it takes like a second until the data traffic is on again, so you won't even notice it's been off & it saves a great deal of battery life! And there are more settings...for wifi, or to turn off everything during night etc...
Hi guys, a little information required.
I've had my GSII for about two weeks now and I love it. The one problem, however, is battery life.
I only get 10 hours on standby....!
My phone is not rooted and I have not made any modifications to bootloaders or such. My flatmate has the same phone and he can easily be getting 30+ hours with moderate use.
I have read some of the threads about battery life but was unsure if the problems (and solutions) were applicable to my situation.
I have tried a different battery so I know it's not the battery.
All help and information will be appreciated!
1- Start using Advanced Task Killer aka ATK. Try the Free version from market first, if you like it then buy the paid one. It has worked splendidly well for me.
If you want to do it the hard way then the followings,
2- Root your phone, install Titanium Backup/Pro and Freeze/Uninstall the programs which are useless and you don't use. Apps like AP Mobile, SNS Accounts, Software Update always searches for update.
3- Make sure to Turn Off Wi-Fi, 3G, Packet Data, Auto Sync, Background Data when not needed.
4- Try to keep Manual refreshing in the application rather than Automatic refreshment.
5- Keep as low as possible widgets. More widgets equal to more battery drainage.
6- Install an app called Battery Calibration by Nema from and Calibrate the battery. It's a MUST step imo.
Regards.

Make your background is always black based, as amolded display doent emit black color... so your background, message , mail the most you use make it in dark background. This will help you save your battery.
download and try different battery saver packages are available in the android market. download and try them for free and you can then stick to the one best suits for you.

How is it that in Engadget's review they lay claim to 20 hours of battery whilst using wifi etc and my phone can only manage 10 on standby with no wifi activated and refreshes are set to half-hourly...
Something seems to be fundamentally wrong with my phone.

It's not about the Standby Time, never was. Just check how long your display is on for, if it's above 4 or 4½ hours then you are in good postition.

My phone was in my pocket doing nothing. I was working and used the display to check the time only, about 4 or 5 times.
10 hours is a pitiful amount of time for a phone to last on standby.
Well, do the step/s I said above, do a Hard Reset before and see how you are going.
I'll try it out and get back to you amigo.

I agree with all your suggestions except the first one, it is not recommended to use a task killer at all.
Also to the OP, check this thread, this has greatly increased my battery life.

Don't use ATK, you shouldn't need it
Post screenshots of settings > about > battery usage. Of both of the battery graph and the list of %'s.
Its most likely that something is keeping the phone from going to sleep, what rom version are you using? (in settings>about "build number"/"kernel version"/"baseband version")

A friend of mine said the same to me. But I really don't understand why I shall not use ATK when it is giving me a great result? I tried almost everything before, freezing this and that, uninstalling some apps and etc etc..but the Awake bar was constantly getting on at some intervals, but after ATK the story is completely changed. So I'd recommend it highly

You can try K-9 Mail or Kaiten Mail. They aren't bad . But I frankly yet to find a good email client, tried those I said, and also, MailDroid, Enhanced Email, but none of them suited me. Finally back with stock GMail and Email.
***Update from my side,***
Installed Juice Defender Ultimate last night with Night Mode enabled on Customise profile and disabled ATK and at today morning I noticed there was no battery drain, it was 31% last night and the same today morning after 9 hours. With ATK it was around 2-3%. So far so good, but I will wait and see further.
I have a query, does the Preset work in JD? What preset is advised? Extreme or Advanced? or else to save more juice?
Regards.
I've started using K-9 Mail.
Everything seems to be working fab now: Fully charged last night and then calibrated the battery.
Lost 5% in 10 hours 30min with sync set to half hourly!
Well pleased.

I know its a common problem for everyone. But I think my problem is quite a bit more. It drains fast even if I don't use my phone. One thing is my 3G is on 24/7. But I saw people with some other roms who open the data traffic for 24/7, bt still get 1.5 days service from battery.

btw, i found just non-system apps like facebook, messenger & whatsapp which might drain some extra battery. Otherwise I have no other major apps non-system apps. I JUST WANT TO RUN MY XPERIA GO FOR AT LEAST ONE DAY WITH A FULL CHARGE
My Phone: Xperia Go rooted with doomlord kit version 14
Build number: 6.2.A.1.100
Kernel version: 3.0.8+ (I think its the stock kernel)

I did follow some steps:
Step 1:
1. First You go Settings--->APPS--->All Tab---->ECO Mode Controller/ Extended battery mode (Click Clear Data and Force Stop)
2. Then Again you Go Settings--->APPS--->All Tab---Setting.apk (Click Clear Data and Force Stop)
3. Charge Your Mobile 4 to 5Hours
4. After 4-5 Hours While Charging That Time You Click Vol Up+Power Button( after 3 times Vibrate)
5. Remove Your Charger and Again Plugin Your Mobile The Sony Logo With Comes And Charging Logo has been Shown
6. Then Power On Your Mobile While Charging
7. Then Go Setting--->Power Management TURN ON BATTERY STAMINA MODE.
8. Then see the battery state.
Step 2:
As ur phone is rooted like me, install Greenify app & add those app works in background even if u don't use the phone. May be Greenify will stop them.
Step 3:
In power mangement, press the stamina mode & exactly add apps like which u did in grennify. In my case Facebook, Facebook Messneger & Whatsapp were the most dangerous app. So i added those.
Step 4:
Use app2sd card software & transfer app from phone memory to sd card. It mau help a liitle.
after these steps i get some little improvement
Note: There's always some bug in other roms. That's why i didn't install any
hey thanks for replying ...
I was using ALL THE PROCEDURES THAT U ALREADY MENTIONED...

U CAN USE " No Bloat Free" to disable system apps if u dont want to use...:cyclops:
I am gonna replace the battery i guess..
Sony ericsson is not providing a battery replacement , they are asking for warranty and all which is expired in my case..
Anyways Thank YOu..

Build number: 6.2.A.1.100
Kernel version: 3.0.8+ (I think its the stock kernel)
My pc operating system: Windows 8
Is there any better rom for me with pretty much less bugs?
Note: Give me an option without unlocking the bootloader plz

I'm having trouble with the same phone but different rom. I'm running CM11 on my GO and battery lasts about 7-8 hours. This is with some maps usage, 10 minute calls, 10 viber messages and some surfing using Firefox. I've greenified everything including Viber & Whatsapp. I also got Juicedefender turning 3g off when screen is off and turning it on briefly every 15 minutes. Clean master is also running in the background because I have to keep clearing ram.
Edit: oh, and I got No frills cpu control set to 200/800mhz Interactive/Noop
Going back to stock rom might help but then Viber "effs" things up and dialer starts lagging.
Any other tips? This piece of crap phone has been nothing but trouble since the beginning.

It's the screen that drains most of it, how long has it been on?
And it is weird because it doesn't show to be awake when screen is on which usually is the other way (awake with screen off).
Check CM thread to see if it's a known/fixed bug.
I updated to the latest CM11 and things are a bit better now... I'm getting about one days use. Which still isn't much considering most of the apps are greenified. Anyway.....
edit: and I've tried to keep the screen brightness at constant ~25-30%.
Hello Guys,
My rn3pro battery drainage is very high, it consume 20% of battery overnight. I have been having these problem from few days. I am just ignoring it, but the problem really irritates when you fully charged your phone and after using leave it on 80% and at the morning you found 60% and with open data it 58% i mean 2-3% difference. First i get this problem on miui 6.12.+ And then i use 7.1 rr unofficial and official both give me this problem and then because of no xposed i revert back to miui and now evey ver of miui has this problem, high battery drainage overnight. Then i think flashing kernel would help, so i flashed radon latest but nothing helps.
So, guys pls help me and this is happening from past few days and i have been using rn3 pro from 6 months neverhave that kind of problem. Never get the need to use apps like greenify, and when i checked battery status it shows android system and android as the culprit, but why now, why not before or from 6 months ago when i bought it. I am really irritated.
Anyone.......guys?
Try using naptime in the playstore had good results. Use kernel wakelock detector to see what's using your battery

First of all try to find a reason why battery is draining. if you are experiencing drain on every rom then there might be a common personal app you used on all of them. If you are rooted then download "better battery stats" app and leave it for over night, it will tell you which app or wake lock is draining battery , for better understanding post screens of battery usage so that we could analyze it further. One thing is sure it must be a downloaded app, sucking battery overnight.
Also there are various settings to overcome battery usage of heavy apps such as google services. always deny location permission of app in privacy / permission settings. it will save atleast 15-20 % of total battery usage. further control autostart on apps like uc browser, clock , calendar as they too start in background and suck power,(p.s. uc browser is worst)
regards

Thanks bro, now installed the app, will post the ss at morning.
Now can you pls tell me whats draining the battery?
Because uc browser never before drained so much. Any solution without installing apps like greenify or naptime.

It's clearly seen that UcBrowser eat your battery. 2.5/hr is good though, and something was downloading about 1.3 hr in Uc thats why it was running in background. If you are using xposed then go for greenify, It is very effective. Other way is, as you are on custom rom, I would suggest you to try custom kernel if you want more battery backup (I am on rr-N and radon kernel, getting around 10 hrs SOT).

You dont understand bro (i know you do) but the thing is it never happened before and i always use uc browser. Last night when i installed this app i am downloading something and i fell asleep when i woke up in middle of the night then i close my data connection. But as i said before i am on miui 6.12.xx using radol kernel latest (i think it is 3.7), why uc browser is eating battery why not before is something wrong with the hardware or restoring backup from titanium cause it or anything else, the reason why this happening now. Bro in deep sleep i never lose more than 3% of battery power in whole night and now this percentage increased upto 10 times. And i always use uc browser, because of its downloading and site view. But it never sucked that kind of battery before after putting it on download al the night and miui force closes apps itself. And not only miui it happened on every custom rom i installed now a days.

So you had restored titanium backup of nougat to marshmallow or vice-versa? Some time it cause app crashing and many problems. Just try clean flash custom rom and select battery config in aroma installer of radon kernel. Then see if problem still persist. Or just donot restore titanium backup and clean install UC and see how mush it help. (Same to me, my CM13 Apps backup caused many problems in RR-N so after clean flash all well right now)

Thats what came to my mind. I am thinking restoring titanium backup causing uc or may be other apps to suck battery. Because it all started when i start restoring titanium backup. Now i will clean flash the rom. But one thing i wanted to know, does restoring only data from titanium will cause the same results?

Never tried this, but that should not cause any problems as in my case when I restored whole backup and faced app crashing problems was due to installed apk.

Clean flashed the phone at night, after putting alarm the battery reduces hardly 2-3% in whole night. But after installing uc battery started to increase faster and i love uc browser cant uninstall it.
no one is asking you to uninstall uc browser bro
download greenify and hibernate all apps before you go to sleep and go to security->permission->autostart and check that uc browser is not enabled
i am sure this will solve ur battery draining problem
Install fastboot rom latest beta and use it for 2 day and set it up... And then check
Guys i think i catched the culprit. There is an app in my phone named easydpichanger i use it to change my display dpi. When i got 7.x in my phone i changed it dpi to smallest i.e 336 and in miui used it on 330, and when i change it to 400 it stops eating battery (as default dpi is 480 which is way larger on a big screen). Now i am getting good battery backup
Thanks everybody.
Why do you use app for changing dpi?
Why not change in build.prop?
360dpi is HD , 480 is stock FHD

Bro why should i mess up with build.prop when i can do it with just single click
Use easydpichanger
Bro why would you need app for that if you can do that in build.prop...you are just wasting space + dpi changer is not as effective
Just add last line ro.sf.lcd_density=
