the best would be a richter/HR-compatible plate as i have the acessoiries for other handsets in this system
I'm using my old HTC Hero Richter plate. Fits okay and no marks yet on my white Blade after 3 weeks use.
Mine sits in my old G1 cradle
Sent from my ZTE Blade using Tapatalk
I'm using one of these, got it on ebay:
"PREMIUM WINDSCREEN CAR HOLDER FOR SAMSUNG i900 OMNIA"
It fits well enough, and is cheap
My first post here, so they wont let me include a link.
Try Nokia CR-115, check out the photos from a Portuguese site.
http://www.androidpt.com/index.php?...88346&limit=10&limitstart=10&Itemid=30#101059
could anyone of you make a foto with the blade inserted in the plate ?
to the nokia and maybe the i900: i clearly want a richter-compatible solution as it is the most comfortable way for me
but the first thing, i will try now, is to use a clingo necklet and try to maybe mount it on an old plate or cutting the richter-holes into it. dont know, if it is a good idea, but we´ll see

even if there where marks, i would not care. not even my original backplate fits perfectly. but it is a 100€-handy, it is the cheapest smartphone, i ever had. and as long, as the screen doesnt get hurt, i dont care. it just has to be stable on the mount.
Buy an universal from eBay like this one http :// cgi.ebay.co.uk/CAR-WINDSCREEN-HOLDER-MOUNT-ORANGE-ZTE-BLADE-NEW-/280635418963?pt=UK_Mobiles_Accessories_RL&hash=item41572ca953
like i mentioned several times: i will not use a new system just because of one handy... and universal ones are crap
Hi,
you can buy brodi specific support.
i've just order one, I used one for my iPhone for 2 years and it's really good support.
ref : 511235 Passive holder with tilt swivel (http://www.brodit.com/)
regards
looks good. i just have to find any reseller in germany
The Arkon slimgrip is well worth a go, I got one last week from ebay for £14.
It comes with a windscreen suction mount and a piece of plastic that you can stick to the dash as an alternative place to mount it.
Once your sure it's stuck to the screen you have a great range of adjustment in it as well.
Im using a universal holder from ebay. Was cheap and does the job well.

I'm looking for a car-mount that will fit the Wizard.
I don't want a speaker or any connectors, just a mount, preferably with lots of foam so it doesn't squeek and rattle. I also don't want a 'window sucker' model.
I've googled it but can't find anything that says it will work with the Wizard.
Anyone seen/got one that will fit?
Me to.
I've been using Brodit mounts for the last couple of years but I keep swaping cars (between my own and a company one) recently.
This is the most promising one I've found so far.
http://www.arkon.com/pdamount.php
I like the look of this one because when I get a better case (flip type) there should be room to mount with it left in side.
Nice
Good range. Arkon only do a 'sucker' windshield mount for the jam/k-jam though.
Still looking.
Is there a UK site with them?
Any ideas when K-Jam accessories will appear? I want some screen protectors and don't like cutting bigger ones down to size.
Boxwave do some screen protectors and do ship to the UK.

Brodit is introducing a passive mount early this month (presumably 1st half).
Although I have not found any retailer selling it at the moment.
Cool I''ve been holding out for that one But I might get a cheap suction holder for the other cars I use.
I just bought a cheap HR Richter mini holder while I await a Brodit active holder.
Doesn't make sence for me to buy a passive holder now and an active holder in a while.

Halfords has a universal holder for £14.99 that held my Vario very securely when I tried it in the shop and did not obscure the speakers or the USB port. It came with a window sucker and a sticky pad option. I'm not sure if there were clip or magnetic options as well.
Tesco have a universal holder for £4.97 that clips to the air vents. It was in a bubble pack and I could not tell whether it would open wide enough. But I don't suppose Tesco would object to a refund if it didn't, since there is no way to try before you buy.
Further to my post above I just bought a universal holder from a Vodafone shop for £5.00. It has air vent and sticky pad options and a slick/smooth adjustment operation - better than other units I tried for £10+. There is a gap at the bottom for headphones and USB charging if needed.
I don't like the idea of blowing hot air all over the back of the phone for hours in the middle of winter so I've plumped for the sticky option. I have yet to test it on the move with the Vario attached. I'll leave it overnight for the adhesive to stay stuck and then see how it goes.

I've got one on my wizard and it looks great. I messed the first one up and i stuck the wrong side down on the screen and it gave an oil kind of effect on the screen, i'm sure the peel off sticker was on the wrong side, anyway i binned that and used one of the others i got and now it looks and fits great. had it on a few weeks now and its not scratched yet.
my last boxwave screen protector lasted over a year.

Will defo get one when it is available in more places!
If anyone has got one already, please post a review
Thanks.
i have a Brodit passive holder....
just a quick comment on it..
I have had a brodit holder for every PDA i have had for the last X amount of years and have never been unhappy in the least bit...
When i picked up the holder for the TC from the local shop here in Sweden, I looked at it and said "boy that looks tiny".... i thought maybe my head was playing tricks on me...
i took it out of the package at the counter and tried to shove my phone in it.... I would have needed a crow bar, and elephant and some butter to get it in there....
luckily the shop that i bought it from also doubles as a car stereo installation/ car mod shop.....
one of the guys from the shop was there and whisked me into the back and got out his heat gun and heated it up and together we made it fit to a T.
now it is perfect and i love it....
(i wonder, did brodit try to make this only with dimension from HTC, or had they an actual unit during their manufacturing process???)
anyway now i am once again a satisfied Brodit customer....
Proclip
I just got my holder yesterday. While tyhese are a little more than all the others I have seen it looks to be about the best holder I hqave ever had. I had one of the cheap ones off ebay and it broke already. This one seems to be very well made. They offer a few different models for the TC. With or without tilt or charger. I got one with the tilt and I like it. For what these phones cost it is worth it to get a quality holder for the car.
This my carholder-active, orginal for P3300
I got the Brodit as well as I've used them before and they are really well made....that is, except for this one which is as tight as you like. The o2 orbit2 does not fit it properly and I'm now having to debate sending it back vs. finding someone with a heat gun !!!!
In fact, I returned it and have just received another one....problem is that this one is even tighter. Will now have to find someone with a heat gun !!!!
Mine is a tight fit too but far better than the one I had for my last pda. If it isn't tight it buggers up the mini usb connection. The fitting kit for the car works fine too but it would have been better if the curley cable was shorter and the straight bit from the mount was longer just to make it easier to route the cable.
If you're looking for a car holder for the touch cruise, go to best buy in the auto dept., look for one made for the iphone and ipod both. It is around $12 and clips onto your air vent. The cruise fits in it perfectly.
hello,
just need some opinions about car holders. first one CU S240 holder for topaz
http://www.handy-heaven.de/shop/images/b178412.jpg and second one is universal htc holder CU G100 http://www.1a-handyshop.de/images/artikel/HTC-CU-G100.jpg
which one prefer you guys? im still hesitating.
I wouldn't go for either. Brodit are the best. There is no fiddling with plugs with that, you just slide it in and it is charging....
Alternatively see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=564493
i bought one like the one in first link with charger for about 10$ on ebay,
the handle (long part) broke immediately, so luckily the plastic that holds the phone itself is disconnectable and fits HR and i had HR handle from my old phone so the combination works but for itself its piece of crap.
too bad HR dont make holder for topaz - simple & rock solid - mine works for 2 years now with several phones.
about the universal ones i tried couple and its never perfect...
Look at brodit. Costly but the best available. The one for Diamond can be sued for Diamond 2
I just purchased this (spendy $59) one from ProClip...
http://www.proclipusa.com/brodit-device-holder/htc-touch-diamond-2-(gsm)/charging-holder-with-tilt-swivel-and-cigarette-lighter-adapter-512011-17511.aspx
It's on backorder now, but should be here within a week. I'll let you know how I like it.
[edit: It's by Brodit... didn't realize that.]
I was thinking of going for the CS240 as well, some site have it around £20
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/htc-touch-diamond2-car-upgrade-kit-cu-s240-p18997.htm
Most HTC originals I have bought are great quality.
That said I also spotted these Herbert Richter, any tried them ?
http://www.handtec.co.uk/product.php/2417/herbert-richter-htc-touch-diamond-2-jacket-grip
I like the idea of multiple attachements, for the bike, car, etc...
Anyone bought and tried either of these, the Brodkit ones looks too bulky and over priced (to me).
The CS240 is great quality. It is actually made by Herbert Richter in Germany and the jacket grip of the second link you supplied is part of the CS240 set. So I think the set is the best bargain. It has a very good build quality. Nothing waggles during driving.
There is one drawback. The jacket grip may scratch the shiny surface of the battery cover, but if the TD2 is used without a case its probably scratched anyway.
I bought something that looks like your second link. And let me tell you, that was the cheapest piece of Chinese crap I have ever bought. The sides the open and close to grip the phone were getting jammed, the became loose and phone would fall. In two month it had been broken.
Nomas mis dos centabos.

Any other suggestions peeps?
I use a Brodit active mount. Looks good but is not cheap (about £30 ish in UK). But then I just slide the phone in and charging starts as soon as i switch on the ignition. I have used Brodits for my last 3 phones and all have worked well.
Cool you got a link for it, found it about £34.99 anywhere recommended?
Thanks dude
Got mine from prepaymania - it was £27.04 including delivery. Now it is £28.22.
They were fine, but got let down by the lying toads in the Royal Mail who insisted they had tried to deliver but I was out. The note saying that got delivered the next day by the postman! So had to collect it from my Royal Mail depot. But NOT Prepaymania's fault.
BTW I have mine hard wired in via a ciggy lighter behind the dash. Don't try wiring it in direct or you will fry your Hero because the ciggy lighter adaptor houses a voltage reducer. No wires show and I mount it using a car specific Brodit car mount as well.
Cheers dude. I don't want tyo drill in to the dahs, do they have a sticky thing that has to go on the dash as well? Or is there another way of doing it.
appreciate the link
Look at Brodit's site here. Click on "choose the mount for your vehicle" and put in the details. They do fittings for almost every car going and none of them involve any drilling.
You then need to find somebody who stocks them. Normally easy (prepaymania may) for more common cars. May have to wait a bit longer for unusual ones
Make sure you order one for RHD cars if in the UK!
I order the one on ebay but It broken after couple of twists. After a good glue it works perfectly!
I do not know if it affects th G2 battery life a lot but i use one of my blackberry phone chargers i think it's the one for the bold 9000
so far i didn't notice much change in battery life plus it chargers more than 70~90% of battery life in about 30-50 minutes.
just to add to my previous post. I have a silicon case on my Hero and that won't fit on standard car holder. My trick is to light it up so it warm up and expand it a bit and it fit perfectly!!
Ive bought one off ebay now, a herbert reicher one! I think thats what it is called!
Will see how i get on with it!

Avoid londonmagicstore on eBay.
I bought one of these holders and they sent me one that was meant to be a for a Nokia N97 and then insisted it would fit the Hero too despite the size difference. My N96 I had at the time fit so an N97 or Hero would just fall straight out lol. Sent back and got a refund luckily.
If anyone could recommend a car holder that would be suitable for running the Hero in landscape mode I would be grateful, the Brodit and Herbert Richter ones don't look to be secure enough.
I'm looking at one on Mobilefun that seems to be the correct version of the one from Funkyfin's eBay link.
A few days ago I bought an HTC car kit. Unfortunately as a new user here, I'm not yet allowed to post external links but the name of the kit is "CU-S210". Just google it and you should get a lot of results.
It says HTC on the box but if you look closely, it seems HTC buys from Herbert Richter (the flexible mount is labeled "HR" and on the cradle, there's a "made in germany" and I assume, it is HR as well since it looks exactly like the HR ones).
My opinion: I haven't gotten round to testing it on long trips but so far it works quite well. The phone is easy to get in and out but it still feels safely in place, even in landscape mode.
Well, if you drive a landrover through the rocky wilderness on a daily basis, I assume it wouldn't hold forever (however, then you probably wouldn't use a phone for navigation anyway ^^ ) but for regular street use I see no problems with landscape mode.
My brodit holder for the Hero works fine in landscape mode - in fact that is how I use it most of the time with my sat nav app. It has a ball mount so swivels easily and holds the Hero very securely

I've been looking for the same thing, swivel capabilities is a must. Anyone find a good one?
Get a decent quality universal car mount (with the four prongs) and then just buy a cheap fixation for your Lumia. That way you can keep the mount when you eventually change phones... That's what I've been doing for the last few years...
I've got a telescopic Herbert Richter car mount which looks like it's the same as this one (http://www.ebay.com/itm/iGrip-Herbe...472900?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item48454f5744) and I've been very pleased with it. Unlike some of the cheaper ones I've had it has never lost suction and come unstuck. Most eBay sellers who have cheap Lumia 920 car mounts will sell the phone-specific part of their mounts separately for a couple of euros...
Well .. i dont like the universal ones to be honest because the ones i used never where as usfull as expected. will have a loook at the richter one.
Which car charger can you recommend. I am reading a few amazon.co.uk reviews and they are not to pleased with the ones offered
The one I use (and the one that looks like mine that I posted a link for) isn't one of those universal ones that can be adjusted to hold any size of phone... I don't like those ones either... The ones Im talking about just use a four prong system where you can attach phone specific "faceplates" like you can see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=683631 so it looks like it's made for the phone you use it with... Sorry, it's not easy to explain but you should be able to get an idea of what I'm talking about.
does your one come with a car charger already?
got different from belkin etc .. just looking for the power part of a car mount now.
will see if i find a universal holder later
hrmm, not sure if we are allowed to post links on here...
anyways, i bought this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00AEO3U7W/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
took a gamble as there was no reviews, current review is from myself.
Its pretty solid, I tend to always buy ones for the phone as I'm not a big fan of the all in one mounts, and the nokia one i got for my partners 710 is terrible, won't even hold my phone just slips out constantly. I've got a car charger from maplin to go with it that does do a 1000ma charge as my old charger didn't charge the phone enough to keep up with navigon.
Its as solid as some premium brand mounts i've bought in the past, as good as you can get with one suction cup. (imo) how long it lasts is another thing, but for the price I thought it was pretty neat, a friend borrowed it and immediatly ordered one too.
Its very sturdy and the easist phone mount i've used to slip in and out, only thing that did initially put me off is the fit isn't 100% secure, theres very slight movement, i don't think its even 1mm, thought it would rattle but seems fine in the car.
well i just ordered this for my charging:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002C3AFHG/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
hope you didnt have this one
and i will have a closer look at the amazon offer, thanks
stead, look at the second photo of the one you bought, see the four prongs? That means the front panel comes off so yours is one of the ones that I was talking about that can be used with any type of phone (as long as you get the right front panel holder piece)...

I've very rarely seen them advertised on their own but if you ask, most eBay sellers who sell the dirt cheap car holders will sell you the phone specific attachment on it's own in my experience and usually for only a couple of euros including postage. Postage must be cheaper in Hong Kong than it is in France...
Arkon Slim-Grip Floor Mount SM525-S
FWIW I have been using this model for about 4 years- first with my Tilt2 and now with the Lumia 920 (both without a case and with an Otterbox Defender case as the holder can expand). I had an older version for the Tilt2 which didn't allow for 180deg movement (you couldn't move the phone to landscape position while inside the holder) so when I got the 920 I was able to purchase just the Slim-Grip portion and keep the flexible pedestal part that I already had.
The 4 legs on the Slim-Grip are not permanent- they come in a little bag and you slide them into the body of the phone holder. The move left and right to allow for access to ports on the phone that may not be centered on the phone itself. It also comes with extra legs that are a different shape in case you need a different fitment for your phone (think they are shorter?). The bottom of the Slim-Grip is the part that moves- you push it down with the bottom of your phone and it expands enough to let you then push the top of the phone into the holder so the top legs support it. It isn't obvious from the pictures on Arkon's site at first but you will see a line running across the holder when you look at the pictures and that is where the movement occurs.
I am able to put my phone in the holder with one hand and, because the pedestal part is mounted to one of the passenger seat floor bolts, it's very stable. It's hard to move the pedestal to bend it to different shapes, which is a good thing, because it won't flop all over the place when driving. I can use the 920 without a case in it and with an Otterbox Defender, either way is fine. It allows easy access to the audio and power ports. My friends stick their phones in it too and it holds them just as well (iPhones, Galaxy S3's, Blackberry's etc......).The mount does not impede passenger comfort, however they may not be able to just flop their left leg against the center console because the mount would then be rubbing against the plastic and may leave marks, at least in my Subaru Legacy.
I have used this mount without any problems for close to 5 years now and everyone is jealous of it because it is so secure and convenient. I have no problems recommending it 100%. Good luck.

Oh OK I understand what you're saying now; I thought you were referring to an issue like the screws scratching the phone or something like that.
I didn't have to screw anything into my dash. I had a mount that clips onto the dash and a holder which is screwed into said mount. Very easy.
