[Q] background update almost freezes the phone - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there,
I have standard rooted, 2.2, KA6.
Whenever I get the that round icon in the taskbar with two arrows pointing at each other which I think is for background update of some sort the phone really really really lags at everything.
Does this happen to you? Is there a workaround?
Thank you.

The tablet lags when there is a notification

I noticed this in Honeycomb and now ICS. The tablet lags really badly when a notification comes up in the bar at the bottom right. It becomes fine when it goes, but it's really annoying, especially when using Skype which gives you a notification every 30 seconds, during the notification as it slows everything down.
Is there any way to fix this?
Cheers.
mine too!
I just want to confirm the issue. My Tablet S on ICS 4.0.3 is very buggy/slow/glitchy when notifications come in too (specifically the notification bar/clock area). Mine is totally stock non-rooted. My older honeycomb version 3.2.1 was perfect and non-glitchy in this regard.
I like the ICS better since it looks good and my apps rarely force close now!
I don't have this problem at all ( I'm still in Honeycomb).
The pop up notifications (floating near the bottom, middle of the screen) drag mine down in both Honeycomb and ICS. Never bothered me too much, but its a hiccup in an otherwise very slick OS.

[Q] Couple of niggles with S3, anyone got solutions?

I'v got a couple of things really winding me up with my S3 I wonder if anyone has a solution.
1) The stock SMS app doesn't seem to honour the vibrate style setting I have, I set it to heartbeat but text messages still use the looong horrible vibrate.
2) Why does the damn notifications toggles scroll EVERY time i open it? I'm used to very quickly swiping this and hitting wifi or bluetooth on or off and now I miss them cause it starts sliding to show me the other buttons that I already know are there!
I'm not interested in flashing non-stock roms and I'd prefer to stick with Stock SMS so just wondered if anyone had found solutions to these yet?

Notification Bar scrolls down without touching it

Hallo,
i described the same problem almost in the Desire Generel Thread but that wasn't the right.
I have a HTC EVO 3D GSM and one big problem.
My notification bar scrolls down without any touch of my side. It scrolls down a little bit and stuck there so i cant do anything at this time because of the scrolled down notification bar. To fix that i can only lock the phone by pushing the power button and relock it again as usually. But after that the same problem begins. This problem starts at monday around 12 am.
At that time i had installed a cusom rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1507616
The Kernel which i had installed was: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31376376&postcount=874
I thought it might be a problem with custom roms or something i decided to go back to stock rom, lock bootloader and unroot the phone. But the problem exists in the way i described above.
I went to stock by using goldcard and extract the rom.zip from the temporary file of a Shooter_RUU of HTC Gingerbread. After that i installed the official HTC ICS Software.
Now i installed a app of the Playstore https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=multitouchpro.tests&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsIm11bHRpdG91Y2hwcm8udGVzdHMiXQ..
There i can see, that i have two fingers of the display (red and blue). No Problem but after a short time two other circles came to display but i dont touch that. They are in that area of display where the notification bar is to find (with 2 circles green and yellow).
What can i do!? Is there anyone who can help me to fix that terrible problem? I dont know how i can fix that.
If nothing can help, can i give that phone to my local electronic retailer and he dont notes that the phone was one day unlocked and rooted and there was a custom rom installed?
Best regards,
Marc

[Q] UCCW Hotspots glow

Hello everyone,
My problem is that when one makes a hotspot, everytime one presses it, it flashes for a moment in blue (maybe other colours as well, just for the widget I am doing at the moment it is blue), to indicate the act of clicking on it. This is ok for small hotspots, however for something realtvelly large it looks rather ugly for me. Is it possible in any way to turn off this flashing.
Thank you!
Anyone?
I am also looking for a way to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Swift 2 + screen burn?

Having a bit of a problem since yesterday, all of a sudden the colours on my Swift 2+ have gone really, really dark and on the lock screen I can see shadows/burnt images of the status bar and nav bar almost like overlapping my screen? I thought maybe it was something to do with a theme I installed, so I uninstalled all of them to no avail, so then I thought I'd do a factory reset on my device, still hasn't fixed it... Is this to do with the hardware itself or is it a software issue? Thank you in advance for any help
That happened to me a few times on my swift 2+ but it went away after I restarted the device and it hasn't happened to me since I updated it to the latest software. Also, I think the faded nav bar is something that's part of the software and not screen burn because it's not there when the device is turning on or when it's in the bootloader

Had a similar problem twice recently but by rebooting that got rid of the problem.
