Hi forum, i have installed this combination of software, but the correct viewing is only at 96 dpi, the other resolution put the icon in not correct visualization, and crossing to the message section and the resolution is too high
Anyone have a solution for this problem , thanks in advance
Hello!
I see a lot of really good aplications here, most of them support all resolution but it's not the case for all. So, I want to know if there an application which resize a (W)VGA application in order to turn on a (W)QVGA?
Thanks a lot for your response!
wvga fix / wqvga fix
something like that...
ya, I already know this one, but if I'm not wrong it allows to switch between WVGA to VGA, or WQVGA to QVGA, but not (W)VGA to (W)QVGA
..................!
WVGA =480x800 pixel
VGA= 480x640 pixel
WQVGA= 240x400 pixel
QVGA= 240x320 pixel
SQVGA = 480x480 pixel
HVGA = 320x480 pixel
Thanks, and................................? lol
I know this information, I only ask about an application which resize automatically an application. Maybe it's possible, maybe not ;-)
nobody has an idea?
No answer for my question? please
hummm.... naaah....
hi, currently we are doing android apps in our school. this is the app we are using for the project.
http://code.google.com/p/apps-for-an...aze.java?r=111
we need to make this fullscreen for WVGA,QVGA and HVGA. this code only shows fullscreen in 320 x 480 pixel devices like x8. i'm currently using WVGA (Desire hd) and the maze is too small. please help me on how i can make it automatically adjust to the screen density or resoloution =) thanks in advance guys =)
According to Swype, WQVGA is no longer supported. (WQVGA 5:3 is the Galaxy 3's resolution).
-> see beta.swype.com/android/supported
The Swype Beta Installer says "ERROR: the screen size is not supported. [...]"
So I guess this is the preliminary end of Swype developement for this device.
Which was the last / best working version, 3.25?
I tried reinstating my last version 2.8.50.12867 (from XXJPS via Titanium) to CM7.1 but it FCs.
I know there are other viable keyboards but let's keep focus on Swype here.
yup saw it yesterday was really disappointed.
And yes 3.25 imo is the best working version available.

I was never happy with swype, but now I'm using SwiftKey X from the getjar market(full version for free & not warez) and im satisfied.
"Unfortunately, the WQVGA assets were not completed and tested in time for this update. We'll try to add WQVGA support again as soon as it's ready."
I can't wait (Polish lang ^^)
Well on their official page it's still "ATTENTION: Android 1.6 and WQVGA resolution no longer supported"
which sounds bad for future prospects...
Let's hope the swype-forum announcement is more accurate.
and there's no way to retrieve 3.25?
So I can use Swype on my phone anymore? Wow, that sucks.
My old version ain't working anymore
Uh guys, if am not mistaken then I guess our device has QVGA resolution and not WQVGA!
According to wikipedia
Wide QVGA or WQVGA is any display resolution having the same height in pixels as QVGA, but wider. This definition is consistent with other 'wide' versions of computer displays.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
QVGA = 320 x 240
WQVGA = 384..480 x 240 (landscape / portrait doesn't matter)
So the Galaxy 3's resolution of 240 x 400 can only be described as WQVGA with 5:3 ratio.

^ Oh ok, thanks for the clarification.
For those interested in having Swype return to our device, I think we might further our chances by making ourselves heard on their Beta forum.
(I already did, a week ago)
So head over to the WQVGA-thread over there: http://forum.swype.com/showthread.php?4750-Wqvga
and tell them what you think.
I for one tried many alternatives and none came close to Swype for me.

I guess it's alright because it's not a paid app but just a part of JPU.
The zip was created by downloading kyrillos v9, extracting the tar and mounting the /system partition like this:
Code:
tar xf Flash_this_as_one-package.tar
mkdir system
mount -oro,loop factoryfs.rfs system
zip -9 JPU_Swype_3.25.91.31127.zip system/app/Keyboard_Swype.apk system/lib/libSwypeCore.3.25.91.31127.so
adding: system/app/Keyboard_Swype.apk (deflated 4%)
adding: system/lib/libSwypeCore.3.25.91.31127.so (deflated 44%)
So here's the result: JPU_Swype_3.25.91.31127.zip
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
thx, will revert downloading now..
Swype 3.25 no longer functional?
I used the .zip above to restore Swype 3.25 to my phone (since I need WQVGA support), but it appears that this version has now "timed out"? When I get into a Swype keyboard it tells me my version of Swype has expired and that I have to upgrade (which won't work, of course). Swyping words doesn't work, it just says "Please try again".
Anyone know if/how I can get 3.25 to work "permanently"? (Or at least until we can convince Swype to restore WQVGA support...)
There is Hack available in Kryillos ROM thread. Search last pages.

That did the trick. Thanks!

Hacking Swype here on XDA is against the rules.
