Ever since I upgraded to .435, it seems that not all in/out/missed calls are appearing in the Call Log. There is no apparent pattern of what sticks and what doesn't. I searched the forum (and google) and did not find a similar issue. Anyone else getting this? I have the official nordic firmware. No root, no JIT etc...

HI,
Not happening with me.
Thanks.
Yeah I've been having the same problem.
Got the update the other day and since then it has irritated the hell out of me.
Same as you though.... no other reports anywhere else????
=(
Well I deleted the log thinking it was messed up. But same issue. But try this. Go to your contacts and make any changes to some of them and save. This seems to have fixed something as till now the call log does not seem to miss any call entry. But I am still observing.

I don't face this problem. I upgraded 3 days ago and none of my call log disappeared.
I can confirm that this wierd behavior's been happening to me since I updated to 0.24. Hope someone figures out what going on.
Well I finally had enough and did a repair through pccompanion.
That seems to have fixed it completely. Must have been a problem during download/upgrade.
Just remember to back up everything... I forgot
Still gonna keep an eye on it though
[update]
Seems like that fixed nothing!!! It was going fine till it reached 14 entries... not good
Thanks for the update. I was going to wipe out the phone too. This is really weird. And it does not seem to be a widespread issue too as I can't find any similar case on google. Weird.

I had this same issue. But after making a repaire with SEUS the log is now saving everything perfectly.
DONOT FORGET TO BACKUP AS ALL INFORMATION WILL BE LOST DURING THE REPAIRE PROCESS. Hope SE repaire this issue soon for whom will update later.

Just out of curiosity, did you all do a xRecovery user data restore?
I just remembered I did that, and after that the call log and Gmail push didn't work as intended.
I just re-flashed to completely stock version and now the call log is working and Gmail Push is working again.
So I would suspect that it has something to do with the restoration of data that can't merge properly with the existing/new data.
Hmmm nope I did not. The only thing I did out of Sony's official path is change to Nordic Combined to get the 2.1 update back in the 1.6 days. But the log was working fine. I only noticed the issues in my case after the .435 update.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Only the default backup and restore. No xrec. Even no root before the update.
My rom is nordic, i changed the code to nordic when 2.1 update hits the place then no root was applied since then.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Maybe it's then a Nordic Combined (B) issue, as I'm also on that region. But since I reflashed the problems stopped.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
same issue here, some call doesn't show up in log,
2.1 then rooted and optimize / clean
I too face the same problem
Same problem here... Only fixes by rebooting, I think :weird:

Well it seems we are not alone. There is a post on SE's site about the same issue and they advised a reset. But it appeared again for the person who reported the issue after the reset. Just like rosindubh reported.

It's happening to me as well..but it's recording missed calls but not outgoing calls...it's really strange...looks like a bug in the update perhaps
Me too... I wiped out everything during the upgrade, then used official restore software to restore settings and contacts. However this still happened to me. I even don't know if reboot or reset works or not.
Well yesterday I did a clean install by wiping out everything using SEUS and till now all is fine. I'll keep you updated if the issue reappears after some time or after a certain number of entries are in the log.

Get rid of market enabler then flash fr007 to fix settings m.e. changed

Well, I reflashed and its still giving me an mms generic network failure error. Everything else is back to normal though. Need mms back. Any other suggestions?

So this is what I've come up with. I got it fixed but found out that m.e. is not the only issue. Do not edit the provider customization db. It will also create a similar issue. Google is your best friend btw lol.

I'm having the same problem with my aria for yue second time, it won't send or receive picture messages. I got it fixed once by factory re-setting it but I don't want to do that again. I was wondering how you fixed yours and what you had to change or delete?

I had actually replaced the provider customisation db with that of fr008 if that does not work then just reflash fr008 after wiping
Seriously this is some bullsh*... it's bad enough that the damn HTC text app wants to make a "slide show" instead of sending my actual-size picture, but now this? Some days it works, some days it doesn't... both before on stock Froyo and after on Liberated. Is there no hope?
Hi there!
I've got CM7 Ba2tF installed since it was released but mms service never worked. I've already installed the APN for my operator and since then I can receive mms's but when I hit the button "Download", it remains telling me "Downlading..." and after 1 or 2 minutes it comes back to "Download" button to be hitted again.
When I try to send mms, the problem is similar: it says "Sending" and remains like this forever.
I've tried with stock sms/mms app and also installed GoSMS, but nothing.
Also, I've got a Samsung Captivate with CM7 installed which as the same APN installed and working for the same operator and everything is fine.
Can anyone help me?
Any help, please...
I think I'll flash with other rom's to see if it solves the problem.

Hi there, had the same problem myself, my mms messages would say " downloading " forever, but would eventually download once i enabled my mobile data. Hope this helps.

thanks for the help.
After a lot of research and after installing 3 roms I finally have the problem fixed. Basically I've installed Aura Rom and everything is ok now. I really don't understand what would be the problem, because all system and APN properties are exactly I used in CM7, but now it works and with CM7 it doesn't.
Merry Christmas!
I had the same problem. I wiped user data/cache/Dalvik. Flashed CM7. Did the three wipes again. MMS worked after doing this.

I'll give a chance to Aura now,but thx for ur feedback.I'll wait for final cm7 version to do that.

I've always had an issue when moving from one rom to another. Essentially I backup my close to 10,000 sms messages, and when I install the new rom attempt to restore them via SMS Backup and Restore app. After doing so it results in the stock messaging app becoming unusable and crashes, which results in lost service and a slew of other problems. As of late I started freezing the stock messaging app with TB and use Go SMS instead, but now I can't receive MMS. Anybody have a sure fire solution? Thanks
No one wants to help? I'd really appreciate some input. Thanks

I have over 10k messages I use to restore (SMS Backup & Restore) without problems, gone through basically every rom you can think of.
And yes I also use GoSms, cause after 1k messages the stock SMS decides it wants to lag like crazy.
Does the stock messaging app crash even when you're not using it? (When you leave it unfrozen)
Sent from my Galaxy S II (i777)
Yes it crashes regardless. I wouldn't mind if I could leave it alone and not worry about it, but whenever I boot the phone back up and its unfrozen it crashes my phone and it loses signal. Miui is the only rom this didn't happen to, which is why I'm still using it.

Still looking for a solution. The newer version of backup and restore lets you restore message from a certain date on, but not before that date. I feel like if I restored it in two stages with a reboot in between it would have any issues, but I have yet to find a simple method of doing so.

I was having this same issue after restoring my SMS/MMS messages. Then I used SMS Backup + to back them all up to my gmail account. After that I wiped them all out from my phone, and the stock app was still crashing, so I started using GO SMS again. A couple days later, the stock app just started working by itself all of a sudden when I got a notification for an SMS message in my status bar. I'm not sure what fixed it.

Did you try clearing the sms cache through manage apps?? sometimes doing this helps clear up glitches, I did this when I had the Phantom VM bug. not sure if it will work for this but its worth a shot.
Hope this helps
Thanks for all the input guys. I was able to restore my messages in 4 chunks. Worked great, just took forever. Thanks

Hey, I saw this has been a while, but I am trying to do the exact same thing as you. How were you able to restore it in chunks?
Hi, many times I have encountered this issue while in incoming call the phone is ringing, and the phone unexpectedly stopping. I even can't see the miss call or who was calling.
Attached a screen shot.
I cant see any screen shot, are you running a custom ROM?
i would boot into recovery and fix permissions a lot of the time this will fix things like this, if this doesn't work do a factory reset / full wipe and start all over again.

If all else fails full wipe reflash Rom
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
I had this with Dragon JB rom.
I had to reflash and NOT use the ICS dialer and use the stock selection in Aroma Installer.
Did u install ice blue theme? Make sure you install latest ics blue theme as I remember this was issue( for JB roms greater than LI2) with version 3 and 4. In 4.1 its corrected.

Find the offending app and clear data. Most likely the phone app. Might help. If not a full wipe is recommended.

Hey there! I've been looking a lot for this but haven't found anything xS... I flashed Kamarush minicmsandwich rom and it's awesome but since then, each time I get a notification, its app crashes (i.e. You've got a new Gmail - Gmail stopped Working) same with most apps... The worst being missed calls...each time I get a missed call notification, phone crashes like 6 times then I lose my cell phone signal. Hope you can help! (I'm new so I can't post on the ROM's thread to report this and other bugs I've found T_T)
