Forgive my inexperience as a non-Gen8 owner, but is it possible to port the Tether function from the Archos line to other devices? I have an Elocity A7 that is dying for some Blackberry-tethering, and Elocity seems to be much slower than Archos in terms of development effort. Heck, you guys even have the GPL. Any info is appreciated, thanks.

Any possibility that we might see NotionInk's cool Eden UI on the Archos? I know the NotionInk Adam has Tegra, but I don't know if it's required for Eden...
Check out the NotionInk web site under the Software section if you don't know what I am talking about...

Probably not a good idea to try. Eden seems to be using nvidia's chip heavily. I wouldn't want to try that on our Archos'. Besisdes, let's see what honeycomb has for us as far as UI is concerned.
HoneyComb has many things to show us, a pre-release of the SDK is out and it's GREAT!

Hello everyone,
I'm new to SGS-II forums. I was just wondering why we don't have Windows 7 or Meego port?
I guess SGS-II has been one of the best Smartphones that have been produced. Wondering if there's any development for our mobile.
Just discuss your thoughts
I think their closed source or something so we cant.
Between the click of the light and the start of a dream.
If it's really a closed source then how come HD-2 can get it?
I'm just curious because SGS-II is a historic piece of art. I just want to see windows on our devices
Thanks for your reply
I think nobody did it because no-one is interested enough on "porting" those OSes to run on the SGS2.
Android is the best way to go .
I would be interesting as a POC though.
The HD2 got windows phone because of the hardware similarities with the HD7. It was a straight rip and flash (pretty much). You won't be getting windows phone on the GS2 any time soon, if ever.
As far as I understand it, the Exynos SoC drivers have already been merged with the Linux kernel. There are also open-source drivers for Xorg for the Mali 400 GPU. I am rather noobish at Linux porting, but I really don't see a reason why an Ubuntu/MeeGo port would be unfeasible at this point. (Please correct me if I'm wrong!) It seems like all that we need is already available, and given enough time and effort, we can have a fully working Linux port - MeeGo, Ubuntu, you name it... I am currently saving money to buy a SGS II and when I do, I would certainly give this a try.
and....................... bump
I'm really interested on finding a 7 inch version of the Prime. With or without a dock is ok with me. I'm mostly looking for the quad core tegra3 with the quality feel of the Prime.
I've seen rumors of a google collaboration, but is that the only hope that I have? Also, as much ad I would love a keyboard dock it's not required for my purposes.
I'm trying to help the opentablets.org guys get Plasma Active working on the Prime and would love to add a 7 inch version to experiment with.
Thank you all in advance for your help. And I sincerely apologize if I've overlooked this question being answered already as I've been unable to find this info.
Google.

Hi i've seen the jetson tk1 a k1 processor development board, now i know it runs linux fine but i want it for android gaming. So i am wondering if anyone own one and/or can tell me should i buy it for the sole purpose of android os gaming,i am concerned of shelling out 200 pounds for a device i may never be able to run android os on.I can't help but think there's a catch like a lack of a chip or something potentialy hindering the chances of loading an android rom on it.I'm debating getting it next fortnights time if anyone thinks it can be and definately will be done i'm sold.

Yes, modifying the linux kernel for ubuntu to run android was quite easy, took less than an hour...
Rootfs was even easier, took 15 minutes....
booted first try...
But getting Cuda in android will have to wait for official Nvidia support.

Hi, im also interested in Android for Jetson TK1 (I already ordered one, I like Ubuntu very much but it doesnt have many games compatible with ARM). If I understood well, you have booted Android on it? You can post it maybe on Nvidia developer forums dedicated for jtk1 or make thread here on xda? Thanks

Forgive me if the answers to my questions have been posted elsewhere, i did a search and couldnt find anything.
I have an Allwinner quad core tablet which runs fine, however i'm having issues downloading certain apps and games because the version of Android isnt supported. I'm fairly computer savvy but not so good when it comes to Android, i'm pretty much looking for a plug and play solution here.
Was there or is there a better ROM for this tablet or a fix to get around the incompatibility with Android version issues?
Any help appreciated
TIA
