Anyone else having problems with the latest update? I keep getting "update unsuccessful, reason -18"
I emailed the developers but has no response. I was wondering if it was a streak thing?

Same error using my Streak but no problem using my Captivate
Same problem. Same error.
I'll try this fix later and see if it works.

Yeah it won't install with an SD card mounted / inserted. It also won't move from the internal memory to SD card like it does by default.
I confirm it works. it also will not even install from scratch if you have a SD mounted. My best failsafe method:
backup app+data in titanium backup
uninstall angry birds
unmount SD
install angry birds
launch the app
close the app
restore data from titanium backup
Yeh finally after removing the sd card it did work, strange cz the new Angry Birds Seasons was updated without any problems (now it includes new valentine levels besides the present xmas and halloween ones) and with the sd card present but anywayz thanks for the tip!
Also worked for me. Unmount SD card, go to the market. Now, on mine, when I searched for Angry Birds it didn't even show that it was already installed. It didn't say "Upgrade" it said "Install".
I picked "Install". It downloaded, installed, and works fine. It did NOT lose any of my save game, either. It actually does the upgrade, but it is calling it an install.
Normal angry birds update fine with no error here and angry birds seasons installed with no issue as well :/

weird, i reckon then it must come to something software related phone side (or bad coding from rovio?) I am quite sure I have heard the same problem on a sgs and then some
Are you able to update AB and AB:Seasons? Doesn't work for me since the last update
Streak running A2.2.
Unmounting SD Card fixes the problem.....
I've experienced the same problem when trying to Install, or update some applications, and the 'Unmount SD Card, Install Application, Mount SD Card' always works. It's gotta be something with the apps trying to install something to SD Card and not having permission or something. Need to investigate further
Thanks, worked ok!

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I'm using Trip's 2.2.1 rom right now and though im loving it, there seem to be a bug? After installing apps from the market place or downloading things from zedge - basically anything that involves download - after a short period of time, there will be notification which says "sd card save to be removed" and "preparing sd card" soon after. A few seconds later, the phone reboots. I tried finding the ans in his thread but i cant find an answer. Does anyone know a way to fix this?

Maybe u should ask about this in Trips 2.2.1 thread?

Well I had the same after installing a rom. Believe me I tried everything and got some great advice but nothing worked. In the end I copied all files from my sd card to my computer and formatted the card.
Than turned my phone off. And with SEUS reinstalled the latest software which putted the necessary files on my sd card again.
Started off from scratch. Rooted and installed the rom again. No problems since...

I was wandering if anyone have encountered a problem with installing apps that install directly to sd card from the market. I am unable to install some.of the apps but a few of them I already had on my streak before it broke and got exchanged. No problems with installing them then. So what I have noticed is that I can install an app but only one. The first app that saves on sd card will install but then cant do them. I am getting the sam message "unable to install on usb/sd card"
I contacted the apps develipers and thay are not sure whats going on and blame it all to bugs in matket and android and the fact that google is not doing enything to solve the problem.
Can anyone help??

So I'm running JT's vanilla Gingerbread. And after a day my SD card is not showing to be inserted thru gallery or if I try to download to. However I can play my music find ringtones on the card view pictures thru other apps and when I go to storage under setting it say card mounted and shows memory. Also something else weird is I can't delete anything from the card. Not really sure what's the problem and could use some advice Thx. (update) So two days now I've realized the problem has nothing to do with the SD card it self, everything is still there and I can do back ups from it as well as export contacts and flash in recovery. The problem seems to be somewhere in the rom. Gallery show a message "Sd unmount or not present" as well as I can't delete anything from the card thru the phone. Root explorer says it's deleted but it's not, every other way I try I get a "file can't be deleted" message. I can view pictures and video thru astro just not thru gallery. So I'm thinking this is not a wiped or fried Sd card issue but something with thew rom, I'll try flashing powerwashed rom and see if the problem continues and update.
If your running anything gingerbread expect your sd card to get wiped, do a backup asap.
Keep me Fascinated.
I am having the same problem

I would try backing up the card, then formatting. Not sure if it will work, but it's something to try.

Funny thing is I reformatted the card before flashing the rom just to be safe lol.

So my problem continued next i was getting the status 7 code about recovery can't mont so here's what i did. Go to the how to go back to stock thread and follow the directions. Odin the CWR v4. Place Jt's VGB on your SD card with the gapps zip and flash thru CWR 4. 24 hours now and no problems. Hopefully for good as I really like this rom
For one reason or another, on the CM7 that has been released (this may change when the fix for the SDCard formatting comes out), some apps from the market display:
Error
Couldn't Install on USB storage or SD Card.
Apps Effected
Aldiko
Line Runner
Wordpress
Workaround
Go to Settings->Storage->Unmount SD Card
Once the SD Card Unmounted message is shown in you notifications, install the app
remount SD Card and Enjoy
Simple fix but I hope it helps
Also if you know of another app giving this error, please reply and I'll add it to the list so this workaround pops up in search results.
Unfortunatelly, doesn't work for apps like Evernote, which want to use sdcard partition and refuse to work without it.

I finally got around to installing the CM7 Alpha yesterday. There were several apps from the Amazon Appstore that would not install without the SD card being mounted (but then would not install because they were too large).
I took my Titanium Backup and opened the .tar.gz files in Ubuntu (there are two ... the one with the longer name) and was able to get the apks. Then I moved them to internal storage, unmounted the SD card, installed, remounted the SD card, and restored data from TiBu.

Not a matter of them being too large but their apks were set up to prefer sdcard installation.

An easier way is to set your TiBu preferences to install only to internal.

I'm pretty sure I tried that in the original build and it didnd't work
It's all fixed in the current build anyway though so no need to worry to much about it

I've had good results using this method. Until the revised Cm7 is released, I'll continue doing it this way. Just my experience.

Thanks so much for this thread! Aldiko was really the only major usage app I was missing in CM7. Works great now!
Another app this also fixes...Minecraft PE! SWEET!
The new-to-Android "Readability" app also is victim to this bug. The workaround is effective.
I flashed CF-Root 5.4 and the problem solved.
THANKS
great help. worked for me .
I desperately tried to install "lane splitter" on my sgs2 , ics, and failed.
un mounting sd card did it .
I'll get a app isn't installed error when trying to run certain apps after swapping sd cards by unmounting and remounting them. Is there any way to prevent this so I don't have to restart my tablet?
Apps installed on SD card
Your problem is that the apps you are having trouble with are installed on the SD card. Only sure way to solve it is to go into Settings>Applications find the apps that you need and click on Move to Phone/Tablet
Still no luck
I tried it but while moving it shows the app doesn't exist
