quick question - Optimus One, P500, V General

Is this forum also for the Lg optimus T P509? Thanks.

Yes! You've come to the right place.
Its the almost the same phone as p500.
But considering that P500 is the more popular(read unbranded) phone more discussion adhere to it.

If you are looking for custom ROM installation, etc then check out this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11279143
Although the process is the same as for P500, it will give you more peace as its dont on a Optimus T!

Yes I saw that. It's very helpful. Thanks again.

[Q] Is the new LG OPTIMUS LIFE same hardware as p500(and can be rooted and same way)?

Hi all! I post this question here because it's related to OPTIMUS family.
I am quite new to this forum and I'd like to thanks for all the helpful infos and files I could find here for my androdevices.
I am planning to buy a phone for my gf and I saw the new LG OPTIMUS LIFE (dunno if this is the name in all the countries, maybe p350?but I am not sure)
here is a link to its specs:
(3 dablius).lg.com/it/mobile/mobile-phones/LG-smartphone-android-LG-Optimus-Life.jsp
It seems to be a smaller brother of OPTIMUS ONE (p500) with half RAM and resolution for a small case and less money.
I see that this phone hasn't a official supported section in xda forum and actually I can't find any info about rooting/modding it on google.
I was wondering if some developer is planning to support it, I would be sure to buy it if I know I could root and improve it but if not maybe I can cange my mind.
My phone is an old htc sapphire 32A, and if I go on using it, its just because of the great job people is doing here, trasforming a very old device like mine in a up-to-date performing and useful smartphone. So I will try to stick to models that can benefit this.
I also think that this model could be very similar to OPTIMUS ONE p500 and maybe there is some chance that the existing p500 roms will work on OPTIMUS LIFE too...
But this is noobish talkin...
Thank you for any answer!
custom ROMs will not work .. however, it might be possible to root it using Super One Click Root ...
Thanks for repling... I will try to ask Super One Click dev for some detail about rooting it.
can you please tell me if you did it? A friend has one and I will like to know. Thanks

[Q] Rom for P505

Wife just got a P505, and after looking at all the ROMs here, not sure which ones will work with this phone. I see one for the P506, and several for the Optimus. Should the rest be ok for this phone?
Thanks.

No! Assume everthing here to be P500/Optimus One only unless explicitly told otherwise. For stuff regarding P505, suggest searching this forum for "Phoenix" in thread title. Otherwise, your wife might end up with a shiny hi-tech brick, hardly what you want. (No beer, no sex, etc. )
Whew!!!! Dodged one there. Thanks.
ALL P500 Roms Work For The P505!
Every P500 rom will work for the P505, dont listen to anyone else. Only thing is the the p500 kernels dont work for the p505 so u have to use Jobans kernel.
But PM if u need more help and download links for the kernels

New User Loving CM7

Hey everyone, for the past 2 days I have been vigorously rifling through these forums to try and get the right CM7 on my LG Optimus One/LG P504. After many, many fails I have finally got it to work with my GSM, all I had to do was use the "Funny SIM Fix". I would like to thank everyone at XDA Forums for all their hard work and being such a great help in this process!! I look forward to trying all of the other ROMS that will work with V11B and my LG optimus one!!! Also I previously bricked a Optimus one trying to use KDZ updater and would IMO like to say stay away from it, there are much easier options to root/ROM flash your phone!!

Very important question!

Guys, my cousin has very good phone. He knows nothing about rooting, etc. So I rooted his phone yesterday, and it's OC'd at 2.2 MHZ! His phone is very unpopular, only 5 ROMS available for it. The name of it is LG Esteem, from Metro PCS. it has a sister phone on Verizon, called the LG Revolution. Okay, on to my question.. Is it safe to flash roms made for the LG Revolution to his phone, the LG Esteem? :/ Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but there's no forums for his phone.
probably not, phones are differently named for a reason (might stuff up his radio even if its the same phone but different carrier). anyways, this thread belongs to general, at the top of the list of forums.
I don't think so mate,i think they have to be ported.
U better teach ur cousin few things about rooted phones since u rooted his ... Hihi
Btw u should ask in Lg Revolution forum, they more likely know more about ur question.

Rooting LG V10

Hello everyone.
I was recommended to check these forums so I decided to create an account.
I have had my LG V10 for almost three weeks now and I love it. I have the T-Mobile version. I came from iPhone and I always had my phone jailbroken. I wish to root my LG V10 for more freedom and to get rid of those pesky ads.
Can someone link me to a guide that will assist me in rooting my T-Mobile LG V10? I haven't been able to find anything anywhere else. Also, I would love to know what can I do or what are the things that people recommend to do after the phone is rooted.
Again, it is my first time on Android so help me out, please.
Thanks!
Sincerely,
Mrs Ana.

Thanks for that.
I apologize for being new. I clearly do not understand what is being said there lol. I know what rooting is but I don't know how to follow the directions and in what order.
Can you please tell me what I have to do first? If there is a step-by-step guide, that would be awesome. I am trying to root my T-Mobile LG V10.
Thanks and again, sorry. I just do not want to mess it up.
I think you're going to have to do some googling and reading about adb first if you aren't already familiar with it.
I'm no expert. Still running stock here and havent rooted a phone since my original HTC g1 and HTC g2.
Sent from my pretty nifty brand new LG V10
Not sure if you have seen it yet but at the bottom of the LG-V10 posts there is a T-Mobile LG-V10 link you might look in there that may help you out also good luck and keep asking questions no question is to dumb.
