Help on rooting lg optimus one - Optimus One, P500, V General

HELP!!!, i have 2.2 TELCEL P500H 10va and i cant find a way for rooting my phone, z4root hangs and after adquiring root methods it goes to app drawer screen and nothing seems to happen, when using super1click method goes same hangs on running rageagainstthecage or psneuter, just stays there disconnects & connects the phone back again and nothing happens (to try again i need to restart phone and kill adb processes on pc) , help plz

try running it unconnected from the pc.

z4root not connected same happens, does all process of rooting then just goes back to app drawer and nothing happens

try to restart (Turn off , on) your phone after installing z4root

you could do a factory reset on it and don't accept any OTAs.... just straight root it with z4root and see what happens. just make sure you backup your contacts, sms...etc..

tried walledq and same result, gonna try the soft reset what are combo key's for a soft reset on this phone? (i previously owned a cliq) lol dunno key's here

Yeah the same problem am having too...no matter whether connected to pc or not... z4root exits after acquiring the root shell...then nothing happens...my phone becomes very slow...I restart it and everything is normal again...I had updated my phone software once...it is currently v10c...does the upgrade makes it unrootable?

yes it does, u need to downgrade to 10B or 10A, to be able to root it,.... the weird part it's that im on 10A and i have no idea why it's behaving like 10C..... please help!!!

upgrade to v10 b

sorry double post

well ok, i tried factory reset and z4root just when it restarted and same thing happenned, so im wondering to upgrade to 10b, now im just a little concerned im from Mexico on a well know baseband 850 mhz for 3G data, will upgrading to 10b screw up my baseband? if not, ¿which Rom can i use to do it?, i would like it to be in spanish/english, thx for the help
another thing i also tried to do the manual Root using adb commands and rageagainstthecage method and didn't worked either, right after running rageagainstthecage it disconnects/connects the phone as it's supposed, but after that when trying to load again the adb shell it doesn't recognizes the phone again, i need to turn off/on the phone again for the 2 pc's(yes i tried on 2 pc's) to recognize it again. obviosuly the whole process breaks when restarting it and i need to start again, same thing happens all the times

You should also check which android version, rooting doesn't work on 2.2.1

im on android 2.2 10a, it's p500h from telcel mexico
Android 2.2
TELCEL MEXICO LGP500hAT-00-V10a-TCL-MX-DEC-25-2010+0-DZ

brother my advice would be not upgrade to firmware thats not from telcel.
try all possible methods of rooting first or just be happy with ur current settings .

I'm also trying to root my LG P500 which has V10e (Philippines). I read posts that I need to downgrade it to V10b or V10a but I cannot access the links to download the KDZ file. Please help. Thanks!

yea chances are if z4root doesnt work after all the attempts, dont do it. I've never dealt with p500h on this forum before so maybe their 10a is different from the 10a of other isp.

methods tried:
Z4root - failed = goes out to app drawer right after adquiring shell root, nothing happens
super1click - failed = after running rageagainstthecage the cel phone disconnects then super1click it's unable to detect it
manual rooting with adb - failed = same as super1click, after pushing rageagainstthecage, the phone disconnects/connects back and abd is unable to detect it back making it impossible to continue.
well, then i guess ill wait some time and hoping someone get's it running fine, thanks for the help my friends

Also looking at your date, mine says:
V10a-SEP-25-2010
so your V10a is different fom ours, which explains why you are not able to root your phone. If you really want to root it, downgrade to the same one and it will work.

i know that downgrading will make me available to root, but my concern is the BASEBAND u use compared to the baseband we use here in LATAM, Basebands are not compatible, i'm concerned if downgrading to that ROM would break my 3G data on my O1.
Thats why i havent downgraded., Also my phone is P500H not p500 like yours.... so i really think we should wait

been trying and trying, still havent found a way to root the Telcel Rom V10a, hope someone can find a solution

[Q] Vodafone smart II 2 Root + Customized ROMs

Hi XDA,
Just got my self another android phone. It's Vodafone smart II 2 running Android 2.3.7. I found it hard to root using z4root or superoneclick... Anyway did somebody root this phone yet? Is there customized ROMs for this phone? I was messing with this phone and at least I found how to get into recovery ---> Volume up + Power It looks like it has Alcatel one touch hardware I think.... So help me to root this phone please Can I upgrade this to Android 4 ICS?
14/06/2012 - Update 1: I tried the universal androot from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=747598"] But did NOT
work it has been used to root Alcatel OT-981
- Update 2: I tried the same method used to root Alcatel One Touch Glory 918N from this link http://jcyberinux.com/rjdreyes/how-to-
root-alcatel-one-touch-glory-918n.html BUT I did NOT get anywhere
- Update 3: I tried different superuser.zip files and tried to install from recovery BUT unsuccessful
- Update 4: I tired to install Marina ROM for Alcatel OT990 downloaded from the following link http://forum.xda-developers.com
/showthread.php?t=1556460 But failed to finish the process, the result the phone would NOT reboot. So I had
to restore it.
Is anybody else working on this?

Thanks! I've been trying to understand how android devices work since this is my first one and was about to ask you how you have managed to restore your phone after your little accident with it not booting.
Now I read the you have managed to root it!
My main objective is to update some custpack applications with newer versions and remove others. I'll wait for your youtube tutorial.
By the way, I just came across a link to the kernel sources from Alcatel:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/alcatel/files/
I got it from another thread here at xda and it was nice to find out that the Vodafone Smart II is there!
Root + kernel sources = ???

The tutorial is now available on Youtube under the title How to root Vodafone Smart 2 II it's Published on 17 Jun 2012 by bassalh2025.
XDA would NOT let me to post outside links cause I have less than 10 posts.
To restore it Boot into recovery then choose backup & restore It's an easy process anyway. I suggest to make a backup first just in case if you have an accident like I did with Marinia ROM then it can solve the problem in the future cause as far as I know there is no ROMs available yet for Vodafone smart 2
Splendid! After rooting it I have already managed to update Gmail, Twitter, Facebook and OfficeSuite without wasting precious memory. I simply replaced the /custpack/app versions with the new ones, reboot, et voilá!
Thanks for the root method!
Hello,
Can you please explain how to recover if phone it is stuck on boot ?
Now just Android image it is displayed on phone and can't enter to boot menu with Power ON + Volume UP buttons.
I jut tried to make backup with CWM got error and now phone it is stuck on boot.
If I connect to USB on PC it prompt for driver but can't find yet any compatible to try fastboot.
thank you.
Freeze
Hello,
I have the same problem aswell, do you know exactly the cause of your issue? i think mine is that i used SUPERRECOVERY (a program for another android phone) that messed up my soft and i cannot boot to the RECOVERY mode, key combinations aren't working and i get stuck at green android image logo so i have to remove the battery every time ... Did the root work for you? i presume you rooted your phone before you tried to backup the CWM ? PS: i tried to ROOT my phone with that program SUPERRECOVERY, that is why i messed up my soft, did not had a chance to try the root method provided on this thread ...Vodafone Smart 2 here.
Hi,
I had no chance to root the phone, just made backup and after that I try to make backup with CWM and this one killed the phone.
Now I have backup files *.img but I can't find a solution to program this files.
I try to connect to PC but no drivers are found for this device even I try to point to drivers from phone SD card.
It look's like I need drivers for VID_0A5C&PID2132 to try to flash my recovery.img with sw from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1144773
but I can't find it.
But how did you even manage to use ClockWorkMod because this program can't be used unless your phone is rooted, and what was the point in making a backup with that CWM if the phone already has the Alcatel recovery v1.0.0.0. preinstalled.
I had no idea that CWM will kill the phone if used on Alcatel V860 / Vodafone Smart 2, I just wanted to be sure I have 2 backup source... now I have one backup & one bricked phone that I did not even turned ON to see the menu how it looks... and 2 years Vodafone contract
Anyway, i had mine returned to the Vodafone center i bought it from, i will tell you how much they had my phone in service, but i am pretty sure by tomorrow or tuesday it will be back in my pocket it is pretty wierd because CWM is an app from Google play (android market) ... in my case i have no doubt that the program i used was made especially for noobs like me to use and Brick my phone ) Again that program that bricked my phone is called : SuperRecovert NOT Superrecovery, i made a mistake the first time sry ...
Look's like my phone will also go to Vodafone service because I can't find available any info, drivers or program to flash this Alcatel V860 phone... it's to new.
Yes, it's the best solution for now ... they will solve the problem pretty fast i'm sure ... we gotta' pay more attention next time
does the battery life is also bad for you?
for me it drains 1% for every 1 minute of calls...
Battery drain problem appear after you Root the phone or it is "feature" from new ?

Mine last about 3 days with normal use: About 1 hour with wifi on maybe playing media for few minutes + Few phone calls + few texts /1day and I always have my phone powered off at night about 7 to 8 hours and I always use 2G GSM + killing the Apps running in the back ground with Task killer.... And I have it rooted for a couple of days now. Usually the smart phones battery doesn't last so long unlike the old Nokia.
I noticed the battery capacity for this phone is only 1200mAh!!!! It is actually ok cause it's not 700mAh, but you get what you pay for in the end of the day it is a cheap phone. I knew that there is what they called Gold battery but this is for the previous Vodafone smart phones the Huawei versions with 2430mAh for something like 13pounds this can last for about one week with normal use.
@bassalh123
i followed your guide and working fine. thank you.
Parents got one of these and lot of crap on it also Volume very low
Cannot access you tube but is the root message extracting file to phone and then using file manager to run it or is it via Odin?
When rooted can the volume be increased and can Titanium be installed to remove all the crap also can the start up vodafone splash screen be removed
Thanks

Hi Mr Irish man,
In one word Rooting android gives you access to system files. So you can uninstall pre-installed Apps like Vodafone music ... Some Apps maybe needed by the operating system so don't uninstall them!!! so be careful.
Refer to Youtube video and learn how to root your vodafone smart 2 it's under the title how to root vodafone smart 2 II

Trying to safely root problems

Hi all bit of a noob, Samsung Galaxy 5 gt 15500 Froyo 2.2 trying to upgrade to 2.3 Gingerbread.
Anyway downloaded z4root using QR from this site V1.3.0, thread closed so could not post there. Tried to root but it did not root. Tried z4root again and just got a white screen , waited for a while nothing happened, just a white screen, pressed home and returned to home page OK. I tried to reboot and everything came back, still not rooted but z4root now worked. Tried this 3 times again with blue screen but did not work. Re-installed app a couple of times.
Any suggestions on any similar app that will safely root this phone as this one does not work on this phone also tried "super oneclick" did not work. This is getting frustrating. Tried many searches on google and youtube but none seemed to work on this phone
Thanks 2bretired.
UPDATE 9/16/12
Well after much searching I stumbled across a program called "Unlock root" which had our model number as working, but it only runs from a computer. Be carefull downloading as it tries to put Babylon tool bar on your computer even when you uncheck the install box's.
Downloaded, ran the program and at first it did not root but after a couple of try's it worked. So finally I have a rooted phone. Next step to use ROMmanager to backup existing firmware then upgrade to Gingerbread 2.3.
Hope this helps others out there. 2bretired

Use universal AndRoot as branimiller9 said and just be careful while using ROM manager, (It bricks if you are not careful enough!!). Instead you cab flash clockworkmod recovery from psyke83 and backup/flash anything from there.

Problems After Rooting

Hello, I rooted my phone (LG Optimus L9 P768g) following the instructions in this thread and i had some problems while rooting but i finally did it (Used telcel's mexico fw)... BUT i have some after-root problems:
1.- And i think most annoying, the audio skips... if i start playing a song and dont touch the phone, the music skips in the second 26, on every song... (I formatted the SD, rebooted phone, resetted it, reflashed) when i tried to change the cpu settings the phone hanged... so i had to do a hard reset...
2- CWM doesnt work, did everything they said tried several times, still doesnt work
3- The phone sometimes just slows down for no reason with no runing apps
4- usb connection resets itself, like if i disconnect it and connect it again.
Can someone help me please? I would like to restore my old firmware or find one that at least doesnt skips...
I have 2 others lg l9 (i bought 3 at the same time), is there any way to transfer the firmware from one phone to another?
I dont want to root any of the 2 other phones because in my case, (this phone model) there is no improvement that is worth the rooting and flashing
Thank you in advanced...
Roy
Now after like the 4th factory reset i cant connect wifi....
Ok... update... had to download everything again, reflashed, rerooted, and software updated but didnt root... has do root again like 5 times to work... will post complete info when in pc

Touch not working properly after Official Firmware upgrade

Hi
There is no specific forum related to this device so I am posting it over here.
I bought LG VU II (F200L) in perfectly working condition, it almost new. After installing LG PC suite and connecting it said new firmware update is available so I proceeded which was done successfully but since then touch screen is not working properly.
Usually it responds ok but main issue is back button is not working anymore, and sometimes when I press power button to unlock screen it responds very weird and not so responsive as well as sometimes doesnt responds or opens apps that I havent even clicked.
I tried to restore, emergency restore, LG Flash tools and used correct KDZ files to flash roms successfully but nothing seems to resolve this issue.
I made some research and the only thing I could find related was Mirror screen which I am not even sure if its the same thing.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Do a downgrade if you can. If you can't take the phone to a service, much better if you have a warranty.

The ROM which was running properly before was also JB updated but strangely it was for F200S. I restored its cwm backup but still same problem.
Cant find any KDZ of ICS for VU II or F200 all over internet, all are JB. So I am unable to find any tutorial or files to downgrade it.

Bricked phone after Flashing Custom Rom

My Lg G5 (Tmobile) keeps on rebooting to recovery mode (TWRP) no matter what rom I flash. I tried using LG Up software but no matter how many times I install the driver phone is not recognized. Firstly I flashed Fulmics ROM then I installed LineageOS (Cyanogenmod) after that phone was working fine for a while till I saw an update and tried updating it to new nightly version. Please help me out if anyone knows how can I fix this issue.
You probably need to put the phone in download mode and then try LG up otherwise try pushing a rom that works through adb

I am sure this method would fix it but I already returned my phone and got new one as I had 1 year warranty. I bought it from T-mobile and I locked the bootloader before turning in the phone so it doesn't look like I was trying anything fishy. Now instead of phone going to twrp each time it goes to boolop saying "device is currupted and won't boot". It won't go to recovery mode no matter what I do and hope I don't get charged from T-mobile saying this and that.
However, I am really grateful to all of you great people who tried their best to help and you sir actually threw me a solution but I was too impatient to wait for it. I know this method will work no matter what as I had been using this tool for my G2 in old days and fixed the worse bricks where I had to openup the whole phone take battery out and stuffs like this. I was looking for this method found everything but LG tool asked me for .dll file which I couldn't find anywhere and decided to give up on it...
Thank you for your help and now I know I am not going to be bricked anymore as I have this method to work with in future issues and am her waiting badly for Xposed to be available for Nougat.

Good to hear that, You are welcome,
And as you mentioned about "device is corrupted and won't boot", that's because you locked bootloader. And as you were using twrp which means modified system partition so phone said that. But you can still go to download mode and use the method to make it live or can try unlocking bootloader to start twrp.
I experienced similar situation. I thought I had to send my phone for repair. As I was able to put the phone to download mode, I used uppercut with downloaded kdz file from LG G5 development thread and restored my phone. I didn't use my phone for four days thinking that I had to take to a phone shop or send to service center. But after careful reading of unbrick tutorials, I brought my phone back to life. Now I can play flashing anything as I am confident that I can easily unbrick my phone.

A few days ago I got my G5 H830 and came with version 6.0.1 h83010i, looking for information on how to install custom rom, I read the post to install the .TOT file to be able to install TWRP and through this the Custom Rom, until there is Everything okay, I did everything right, but then I decided to go back to the Rom stock, on the night of that same day I saw that when I reboot my cell phone it stuck on the LG logo and it had some color pixels damaged (but no screen Damaged, if not because of small brick) then force a restart and continued the same, I did factory reset by stock recovery and then normal start, I went to sleep leaving it in 100% battery, and when I wake up in the morning the cell phone It is off, when I turn it on 5% and I get scared, then I wanted to go back to custom rom to leave those problems behind, but then when I install the TOT again and install the custom ROM it will restart half installed and any rom that installed it would stay Stuck and the LG logo and a bootloop until when it was flash the kdz several times until the cell did not want to ignite more, the pc does not recognize it or anything, I need help with this.
