Why don´t you ask in the nexus one section? Probability that here somenoe will have it very low, as we all already have SE, whereas in the nexus section everyone will have nexus, no?

And battery killers also
Yes, indeed it's true. Wasting battery big time. I used to run live wallpaper and observed my phone. It drain full charged battery in less than 8 hours with very minimal usage. But without it my phone lasted 36 hours with the same very minimal usage. These all was observed over a month of using the phone with live wallpaper on and a week without it(uninstalled).

Hello gents,
Glade to join this great proffesional forum.
I just brought my Sony Xperia S, (a week back) so far am very happy with its futures. but like some others am still trying to imporve my battery power
Anyway, reading on forums notes some guys can reduce display brightness which ofcourse will save power
The problem is when ever I reduce display brightenss, and cheking it on battery statuse page it always shows 60% or 65%. Even on very low brightness setting still stays same! !!
Any advice on this plz? !
Sent from my LT26i using XDA
It is absolutely normal. If you're on one of the earlier firmwares, you should flash .73 and that way you'll gain more battery life than any brightness settings.
Its already flashed to. 73
Was wondering why my display use percentage didnt reduce even with low brightenss, although some guys post screen shots which shows display @ 30%
Sent from my LT26i using XDA
wait...nevermind D: misread your last post. -ignorepost-
the percentage the display used depends on how long and how often you turned your screen on to do anything with the phone like web browsing etc.. display percentage is mostly the highest battery drainer you will see.. except if you are making calls all day it will be lower than the calls and it always will be the same even if you turn down your brightness... if you don't use your camera or the gallery or videos i can suggest you to turn off the Mobile Bravia Engine in Settings > Display.. thats one of the battery drainers of all the new xperias..
Thx alot, bravia engine off,
My phone with normal use ( browsing. Twitter, whataap, phone calls ) only do 7-10 hrs.
Trying my best to achive 13hrs heavy use
Sent from my LT26i using XDA
should make a big difference.. well thats my experience with the Xperia arc..
Thanx a lot for the advice.
Turned BRAVIA Engine off. Will test how the battery goes tomorrow.
We need to create a post that combines all such advices.
Strangely, today Music player was using more battery than screen ( and it was at about 35% to 45%)

There's a thread for that
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26225148
Today i flashed ICS 6.1.10 global rom in my sony xperia sola. After installing it i was in big trouble. When Charger or headPhone is Connected touch works ****. Aweful Performance. Everything was laggy. I was really disappointed. So now I have came back to GB 2.3.7. My xperia Runs like a Charm now. No single issue. some people complaining about battery but i have not noticed any fast battery drainage.
One thing that bothers me is that my friend Has a chinese brand mobile 1ghz processor, 512 mb ram. Even that has ICS and it works good. Then Why Sola lags on ICS?
I will come to ICS when All bugs will be fixed. I can not compromise performance.
I will wait till good reviews by users about ICS.
I hope that I have posted this topic in right forum.
Hi, I totally agree with what you said. You should however try the latest ICS, there is a new one after .10 it ends with .54. It is much faster. I would at least try it. There are uploads of that ROM here if you're interested.
CM 9.1 is for you, must give a try.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1876929
If you are stock lover, then try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1922029
These two are the fastest and the best for our Sola.

Poor you.. Lol kidding. Totally disagree. Man, get the newer firmware. That is old one. I have some tips for you. In settings go to development options and checklist force gpu rendering and set background process limit to at most 3 processes. It even better than GB! You will not say that thing if you know how to customize your Android phone.

Mine Chinese phone with 512 MB RAM also is working better than Sony. The thing is that sola manages RAM poorly. However on fxp cm9 150 with zRam set to 26 % I no longer have issues with lags or freeze.
BTW. To the above post. Forcing gpu rendering will cause system to use more RAM, so it's the other way round.

Are you sure? :/. Haha but that's not problem to me cause I set background processes at most 3.Force gpu rendering will makes your phone faster. Also i have more tips that will make your touch sensitive phone more responsive and make scrolling faster. But whatever I tell to this thread will not make OP move to ICS

after limiting background processes to 3? what you meant by that? bro Android is for multitasking. Mostly what we do "Using internet, listening songs, testing and sometime playing games". On GB i am running browser, play store, facebook and sometime messages without disturbing other processes. anyway i will try .54.
On ICS screen colors look aweful. On GB colors are very bright and shining. Seeing angles much more than decent. and on ics everything is ****. Lets try .54..
Which one Should I try? Global or central europe or indian?

Hi bro, nice to see you again. Yes android is for multitasking. But with set at most 3 processes doesn't mean you can't multitasking. You still can use your phone for browsing, listening to music, update status on facebook.. Don't worry about that. It will just makes more free ram especially when you gaming. You also can use Android Assistant from play store to kill some process if you want to gaming by pressing quick boost button(I just use it if I want to play a game). You can set built in task killer using auto memory manager (must be rooted). It's ICS, which takes more RAM than GB.
I agree with that screen colors

Hmm by the way, there is newer firmware than. 54. I'm using C.1.0 fw, but there's newer fw again B.75(correct me if I'm wrong). Don't know it has been released or not

Now I m flashed. 54 and it is very good. I have not used tweaks. Only while charging touch makes trouble but ignorable. My charges from 10% to. 100% in abt one hour.

Sony sucks! They always do the same thing again and again. I think I should buy something better next time.

Does Anybody Knows how to Root and install a custom rom in xperia sola? There are some guides which are very difficult to follow. I have b.1.54. other than this u dont know.? before this I had rooted xperia x10i but that was just one click root. attached in debugging mod and clicked root on flash tool. Why it is so difficult with this one?
I don't think it's difficult. What step you didn't understand?

Hey guys,
I've made a couple of flashable zip packs, which contain the apps YOU want!
So far there are 6, let me know if you want more!
-The Social. Facebook, Twitter, Email and Whatsapp.
-The Gamer. Directory Bind, No Frills CPU and Chainfire 3D
-The Buisness. Google Drive, Kingsoft Office and Astro File Manager.
-The Ingress. Ingress, Ingress Portal Calculator and Deep Sleep Battery Saver.
-The Chef. Kitchen Timer, Recipe Search and BigOven.
-The Interface. ROM Toolbox, Pimp My ROM and On Screen Button Enabler.
You flash them in CWM. I just made them so if you're a developer, you can use these or if you want apps installed specifically for you!
Happy for feedback!

Sorry for the request but can you make an Ingress app pack?

As we all know, battery life is important in ingress.

★ [MOD] ◢ PurePerformances™X ◣ | Zeno Edition | Scary performances on Android
Dear Mega-lovers!
I love my mega and I often flash new builds and ROM's. Since day 1 I always flashed the PurePerformances MOD. It really works and it is really worth looking at the original thread. I do not own any credit of this MOD, I just wanted to share it with you, my fellow mega-fans.
Here is the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/development-derivatives/mod-pureperformancesx-zeno-edition-t2360985

PS: I would love to thank @Jeeko to make this mod happen. Don't forget to give a ''thanks'' on his post!

Update: nice performance boost but noticed rapid battery drain on my i527m. Went from like 56% to 29% within about 45min to an hour. Ended up uninstalling because of this issue. Hope they can remedy this downside.

Hi, how to uninstall please?
Uninstaller from the main thread
http://www.mediafire.com/download/gnfh45p2ao2th07/PurePerformances™X_Uninstaller.zip
I installed it on my Mega. Positively see no changes or anything faster.. all same, same app launch times, same times for copy paste or move files around, same benchmarks, same gui speed, same everything.. nice try but pointless. I am yet to EVER see any script or "speed booster" app that ever does actually anything. It's down to processor speed and available RAM.
I have a custom kernel installed on my stock ROM and allows over clocking the CPU from stock 1.7GHz to 2.1GHz.. folks, that's the real speed booster..
Everything else is imaginary.. period.

Either you have high demanding apps running
you are running at constant high cpu frequency
your battery is dying
flash stock rom via odin and then test
and why are you posting a question in the themes and apps sections
Questions go in Q & A
The themes and apps section is - this might shock you - for posting themes and apps
thanks

Wrong section....
Maybe there is many background apps running
Or you overclock the cpu into higest one
You should change the rom or flash via odin
Thanks, Sir @marcussmith2626
An other sulotion u might use many sync accounts
ultimately, it can be a wifi, Bluetooth, or some other app which cause battery drainage or the brightness... btw i can be a hardware fault-change your battery
btw ultimately its a wrong section to ask
