Nice,, since i am the first one i would like to point out three things.
first this is noot a themed rom like the other. It includes the xperia framework and many xperia apps , libs and others.
Secondly, the Flash player is already included, no need to install another one.
Finally the Fserves kernel is already included in the latest release v1.4.
Thank you for your work.
Regards
Thanks for pointing out my mistakes..,
Now, could u tell which among fserves kernel you have included?so that I can include it in faq cos many people wonder which kernel it is since it shows blank in about phone .and I misunderstood you bcos u had given credit to Franco for kernel!have edited my first post!
Edit:having a strange bug, whenever I plugin my charger n use the phone, touch lags n keyboard types letters on its own..using Franco.gbs.v18c
Edit 2:works fine now after just unplugging the charger n repluggging it

Ok, I had some impromptu questions.
At first look the ROM looks great. I'm not concerned about the battery life, just the performance. Could anyone post their neocore fps and advanced quadrant scores? [just as a reference]
Also, does this ROM/kernel combo solve the CPU drain problem caused due to our touchscreen? Basically can one play HD Games on it sans any lag?
And, for which kernels is this ROM intergrated?
Thanks.
Its based on. 32 kernel ..neocore as per a user's report in dev forum is 62fps(with sound) and quadrant advanced is sumwhere around 15xx..
I do not know about the CPU drain but battery is good and touch responsiveness is really good..its really fast..
I played nfs shift without anylag

Hmm..
62 is Good ^_^
NFS Shift does not require touching the screen.
I wanted to know whether CPU intensive games such PES, Assassin's Creed, Gangstar. etc.. Work without any lag, as they require lots of touching. [Sounds sleazy eh?]

hard key light is off - people see a bug, to me is an advantage because it saves battery life.
If you can look boykioy can guide me to do so.

You should combine "gingercrust v1.4" with "franco.Kernel.v19.4 + GBS.v19 (BFS)" to get the best performance.

Hi everyone. I want start this topic to discute about some tweaks to do on cm7.
-More battery
-Stability fixes

What you think about?

Hi..
I think that it would be important to report the battery duration, much of all.. It would be useful, IMO, to create a default test to make with our phone.. For example: XX min of wifi navigation, XX min with 3g only and same with 2g.. and going on by this way
I think that souch a test, once reached a lot of results, could be very useful for all of us and for CM7 programmers..
What do you think about???
Inviato dal mio GT-I5500 usando Tapatalk
I think you're right. But first we need to know why cm7 uses more battery, i don't thing developers can modify cm7, they are busy with Cyanogenmod9. So if we know why cm7 uses more battery, we can try to fix it. But who can tell that to us? Develovepers i think. Now i send a pm to ketut.
I think that can help we. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1292200
I wait for a stable version. Realy interesting.
Anyway who can help we peales post here!!

I´m using ICS by jusada and LagFree V1 by slaidmod and my Ace runs like hell with an unbelieveable batterylife of 48h at normal usage (gaming, texting and calling, maybe take pictures). Never lags and never restarts (very stable).
Running the same setup and MT battery life is amazing. Ill easily make it through a whole day with above normal use.
I'm using the infinity rom and the battery lasts an average of 72 hours, but i'm not an usual user, a little foursquare, imo for chat, Some gmail reading, and thats it, no fancy gaming or heavy data usage
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium
I'm using CM 7.2 RC0 and my battery can't handle more than 18 hours, I listen to music, play some videos, my 3G is always on because I need to use with my gmail, at home I use wifi and other things like browser, foursquare, netflix, whatsapp and sms. Wish I had a better battery life :/ I need to keep the USB cable always with me.
This is my battery usage screen.
Runnnig ICS final with SlainFastMod 2.5 and JuiceDefender.
I found that LagFree V1 script is draining battery faster than SLainFastMod 2.5.

I think u dint use ur phone much anyway... I see ur voice call duration is more than display!! Means u dint use the phone much.. The avg battery life of cm7 is around 11-12 hrs with mod usage with net and all.. To increase the battery life u need to replace the launcher, some apps... I replaced the apps and did some tweaks in build.prop.. Not much improvement, but still system was fast...

You could install the SlimBean rom, with the Semaphore kernel settings you can underclock it to 800mhz and change the profile to 'conservative'. Enable the toggles for data and gps, then tell her to disable them when not needed. With this rom you'll need to install the addons and set the dpi to 240dpi for the Play Store to work correctly.

With my config above and a fresh battery it should last till the next day. There is always the concern with the potential '911' bug with these newer roms ofcourse. I think even if its stock roms, its mainly down to managing screen brightness, data, gps, and apps from autostarting.

Rooting as such won't help get rid of Lag ! But rooting gives you the gateway to flash custom Roms and get rid of the lag you have no stock Rom!
Take a read of the sticky threads in dev section and general!
Then you can proceed and incase you get stuck up,you can always ask!

Try to install the latest version as it improved the power management... I used SEEDER to reduce lag of my note 2 (actually I just want to make sure it performs the best speed without lag, without using it my phone works fine). :-
For the battery drain issue, I used One Power Guard, which I tested before, it does reduce the power usage (Got a very good result during deep sleep, and daily usage... usually without using it, my battery drains at least 7% after whole night, while using it, my battery only drains about 3% the most!)
TRY AGAIN (IF IT DOESN'T WORK FOR YOU I AM SO SORRY...)
MY BEST RECOMMENDATION IS FLASH A CUSTOM ROM (less bloatwares and tweeked for maximum performance) AND CUSTOM KERNEL (better RAM management and other stuffs which will help to improve stability of your phone, including battery saving). DO SOME UNDERVOLTING... IT WILL HELP...

I'm on stock .631, I experienced this too, IMHO seeder doesn't helps on my side still i noticed lags and slowdowns in the phone.
You know what i did? flash a custom Kernel(i had the BL unlocked), the tigris kernel by bootbu9, flash the the latest adreno libs(thank you Saingpor for helping me :highfive: ) and remove bloatwares. Now the phone seems fluid and responsive, no more lags maybe just a little bit but not always the same as before, since i use my phone normally(no games) I just OC at 245min and 1018max with smartassv2 governor and NOOP scheduler. Now my phone operates as i wanted it to be.
I have installed betterbatterystats, system panel, cpu cpy app to monitor the phones power usage. Battery and standby varies, it mainly depends on how the user uses the phone, apps installed on it so for me IMHO there is no such thing as battery saver app(sometimes they only just cause wakelocks on my experience). Just do the basics, manually switch off wifi, BT when not in use, adjust the brightness(i uncheck the adapt to lighting conditions - light sensor), turn on airplane mode if you want to keep your phone away or simply turn the phone off if you really want to save power, Turn off 3g and or background data if its not neccessry, etc. In this way you really can save your phones battery power.

Go for jellybean roms.. You need not flash any drivers, u don't need seeder, u don't need to debloat.. Development for xperia play is very good at this moment.. Our Neo L is similar to play... So almost all roms of play work on our mobile.. The development for Neo L is also good... Currently I am on racing cm10.. It's based on cm10.. Rom is so amazing... Trust me, u ll love cm10.. Plus u have an advantage of themes... These themes ll transform ur phone to any look u desire.. I have used MIUIv5, sense5,motorola UI, Ubuntu UI and many more...

UPDATED : 5th October 2013
Welcome to the Viper's thread on performance and battery life !
On topic : As you all know, no matter what ROM you use, no matter what the kernel is, you always seem to find a compromise for performance over battery life. If you are a guy that roams around with the charger after every 4-5 hours, and expect both performance as well as battery life, THIS THREAD IS FOR YOU !!
We'll start with the most basic settings for this and then go through under clocking etc. Let's get started !
Basic settings to have better battery life & performance :
Under the settings menu, do the followings :
1) Accounts & sync - untick background data and auto-sync.
2) Privacy - untick backup & restore.
3) Location & security - untick all.
4) Sound- Disable haptic feedback.
5) Display - Set low screen brightness, select no window animations, disable auto-rotation if you don't use landscape mode much/at all .
6) Applications- Development--> Untick usb debugging & untick allow mock locations.
7) Mobile networks : Tick use 2G only if you don't want to lose battery soon while browsing.
Some recommendations :
1) Do not use task killers frequently. Kill the tasks once. If not much memory is revived, reboot your device. I recommend rebooting your device atleast twice a day for lag free, better performance .
2) Once your battery gets as low as 15 to 20%, charge for 3 hours without a break.
3) Many roms come with applications that you never use. Either delete them using a root explorer if you never use them or just go to Settings --> Applications --> Manage applications ---> select the app you don't use --> force stop, in case you want to use those apps in the future .
4) Find the lighter alternatives for the heavy apps you use. For example, facebook touch over facebook for android.
5) If you're on cm7, under the cyanogenmod settings--> performance --> Enable 16 bit transparency, untick surface dithering, enable purging of assets, set zram compression to 26% under memory management for increased virtual capacity ( These options are available on CM10.1 too ) .
6) If you're on cm10.1, under the developer options, reduce window scale animations to zero, limit background processes as per your need to have a better battery life and more free RAM.
Thanks to brewy for making me assimilate the vitality of force stopping an unused app
7) Do not theme your launcher heavily. Use only those widgets that are needed. Heavy theming consumes more RAM, consequently, low battery.
Scripts that can be used:
1) Adrenaline engine : Included in most of the ROMs
Thread link : Here
Thanks to Imbawind .
2) Full GPU rendering : To reduce the CPU load & force the phone to use GPU for enhanced graphics. Thanks slaid
Thread link : Here
=-Or-=
If you are on cm10.1, under the developer options, you can enable the gpu rendering without the need of any script.
3) Adrenaline boost : It is a great script if you want just that hint of a boost for gaming.
Thread link : Here
Thanks to Imbawind again
4) Battery bar mod script : You have to draw your own results after flashing the script.
Thread link : Here
Thanks to : tazlooney89
5) Project silk : Another nice script for your overall performance & battery starvation.
Thread link : Here
Thanks to : Pulsedroid
6) Fly on mod : Another script mostly similar to the adrenaline engine.
Thread link : Here
Thanks to : slaid480
7) Pure Performances X : Recommended & works like a charm on all android versions !
Thread link : Here
Thanks to : Jeeko
8) Cross Breeder: This is another awesome performance enhancer & this script works on all the devices. It comes with a built in entropy generator like the fly on mod & the pure performances x. It also supports ad blocking to get rid of those annoying pop-ups on your shiny phone. You can update these host files periodically using the adaway app, check out the OP of the tweak to know more. Many more features this script offers, just visit the development thread to know more.
Note: Do not use seeder with this mod. You can only use it to monitor the entropy available. For more details on this, check the OP of the tweak.
Thread link: Here
Thanks to: idcrisis
NOTE : Enable USB debugging mode in the development settings before flashing any of the scripts. Fly on mod & pure performances x come with integrated entropy generator so no need to install Seeder over them. Check out the op of fly on mod to know how to enable/disable the entropy generator manually using terminal emulator. On pure performances x, the entropy generator is enabled by default.
Under clocking :
Under clocking limits the frequency of your phone and allows you to choose between different governors and I/O schedulers. This results in better battery life. But if you don't want to underclock the whole thing and prefer performance with screen on and battery life with screen off ( i.e., on stand by ), go through this thread by my dear friend SuperAce609 :
Thanks to him
Thread link : Here
You can use set CPU for root users or similar apps to set the profiles of your choice.
Apps :
Seeder : I use the Seeder entropy app for lag reduction ( moderate mode ) with all the options checked in ( ticked/opted or whatever you call it ) .
I think the app is free for XDA users.
Tweaks app on stock : This app is mostly included in all the stock based roms. It encloses several tweaks with darktremor a2sd support. Open this app, grant su permissions, tick everything except media straightfright & Darktremor a2sd. Hit apply & reboot.
All these steps and settings have been tested by myself on a cm7 ROM with fire kernel for nearly a week and I can definitely say, my battery that once lasted for just a matter of hours with much of the time on standby, now lasts easily over a day for moderate use . For browsing on edge, it lasts for about 2 hours. I just lost just 7% of battery after listening to over 1.5 hours of non stop music ! Btw, my phone and battery are nearly 2 years old ! Hope this helps you all ! It took nearly an hour for me to write this thread up ! So don't forget to leave a thanks behind .

Well, there aren't much options you know. All the under clocking etc., stuffs were mentioned in almost all the threads. But no one had mentioned about the most basic settings that considerably help even an unrooted / non-rooted user. I just integrated all the stuffs posted earlier with some of mine to make it a complete guide, so that newbies can find everything at a place.

But no one had mentioned about the most basic settings that considerably help even an unrooted / non-rooted user. I just integrated all the stuffs posted earlier with some of mine to make it a complete guide, so that newbies can find everything at a place.

Exactly
Edit : I misunderstood your first post itself. I thought you were saying, that this thread had nothing new in it. Instead, you were saying, that you saw something new in these types of threads today. That's why I posted like I did Now I understand why my teachers spoke of the importance of punctuations in English in my school days
